Some nu-metal bands still use solos and it really depends on the band as far as lyrics. I have no problem with Linkin Park's lyrics. You have a whole slew of teens out there with overflowing emotions....why not play to it? I love the lyrics to "Crawling". The problem with nu-metal as a whole is most of it sounds the same. You just have to pick out the few that sound good.

Maroon 5 if you're looking for some light rock. I see Mik mentioned them too. "This Love" and the song he mentioned are good songs. I've really dug The White Stripes, but that one is kind of an aquired taste.

Well I guess you could still consider them "pop rock", but I meant they're not pop as in bubblegum pop/boy bands. They were just a group I thought had a nice little sound going.

Sampling can be as basic as using clips of obscure songs and sounds ran through a process of distorting and remixing in quick little blurbs...or it can be like P Diddy and be a total rip off of a song.

People have said they've found real tracks. All the ones I've downloaded have sounded nothing like Metallica. What are the names of the "real" tracks? I'm guessing they would have the same names as the real tracklist, but I've tried that and that's how I got the croaking.

No I'm getting that from myself and about 30 minutes of rewinding and listening. My Aunt and I sat down one day and decided to check out some of the myths. The Preacher with a stiffy is true.
