Exactly. Having big bumps in a match that is usually billed as 'no escape' was stupid...especially considering it happened in nearly EVERY HIAC to begin with. Which kills the ones like Y2J/HHH, HHH/HBK, Nash/HHH and to an extent Taker/Lesnar. Evolution didn't even come down to ringside until after the match, so you can't really say it 'kept them out'...seeing as they never tried to get in. They used the cage at least 4 or 5 seperate times. They just didn't do anything big. But expecting them to go on top of the cell is a sign of how the gimmick was pushed to it's limits too soon. The 'you can't escape from the cell, but everyone always does' spot is about as cliched as the battle royal/royal rumble 'both men's feet hit at the same time'. The first two matches stretched it's shelflife to it's limits near enough. Now they're paying for it.

He was ready to swing for Makelele though, so it was probably more to avoid him getting a stupid red card. That's Rooney's only problem...the same thing that's keeping Alan Smith from winning the England caps he should...his temper.

I always thought we'd lose, but be able to recover. After THAT, I can't see us recovering. Becks missed a penalty. Gerrard gave the goal away. Owen was totally non-existant. Lampard thought he'd won England the match. James gave away the penalty. All of those guys are going to be despondant. Rooney's only 18, and I can see that effecting him. That has to be the worst possible way to lose. Ledley King was marvellous tonight BTW...no nerves and a great performance.

Well, to be honest my original plan was to win and try to rival the likes or Ejiro and Danny for reigns with the belt. But other plans have arisen. And in all honesty, I can't think of someone I'd rather have the belt on than Rando. Enjoy the belt and do me proud buddy.

It's funny...I'm looking forward more to the SWF PPV than this one. Which goes to show how badly this has been built, outside of HBK/HHH. It could very well be a solid PPV and maybe even the sleeper show of the year. But on paper, nothing excites me. Not one match.

Anyone else find it funny that BBCW Mark 1 is insulting gearhead over this, when he did the exact same thing himself over the Storm stuff. Not a great start. Trezeguet nearly buried that header and they're creating big holes at the back at times. Trouble with us is we're doing what we do EVERY match...sit off and let France have the ball on the edge of the box. Gerrard should be attacking EVERY ball because that's what he does best, but he's not. When we're playing Iceland that's ok. France will eventually punish us.
