The One and Only Raw Thread (October 27th, 2003)

<DDP>And that's not a bad thing...THAT'S...A GOOD THING! -
Did I miss it today? For once, I'm awake enough to tune in for Sunday Night Heat...and they're showing the Joe Schmo marathon (i've seen every ep, so no need to see it again). What the heck are we missing because of this?

The 2000 approach would have further pushed Kane more and made him a bigger star. What you advocate is subjugating him to be Shane McMahon's personal punching bag. Which is better for Mr. Jacobs? no. i liked the beginning of this angle very much. as soon as shane got involved i got pissed. kane shoulld be fueding for the title. think about it. he's probably the only person goldberg will take caution with. not anymore ovcoarse.... because apparently someone i can beat up can beat kane. so by that logic i can beat kane too. i was never a fan of any mcmahon going over a wrestler in any way shape or form. Yes, but you said you like how the "Shock TV" factor was working for WWE TV, and how it's going to help the company. The Shock TV factor you backed earlier in this thread is what made people bring in Shane in the first place. Hence, while you may not like it, you in a way are supporting the fact.

Nah, then the subtitle would be "Stating the Obvious" ^_-

Can someone please lock this thread before we all go insane? I mean, between this guy here and 1 Inch Punch in the NWA folder, we have no room to rest without people blindly stating their opinions without good facts to go behind them.

DAMNIT! >< Wish I knew that...been trying to catch Heat for a while now. WHat were the results?
-
no its because i disagree with what you ALL hold sacred. and thats old school style wrestling. i think its outdated and i happen to agree with the people that you think fucked everything up. i understand the anger, but sorry guys, vince knows better than you and apparently so do i. If he knows better, why the hell are buyrates AND ratings going down the damn toilet? And give a solid answer for once.

Either wrestler, commentator, or manager. One of the three. For the first, I'd have to get back into shape though. But I do have some neat moves I've wanted to try...most submission moves, but still.
-
Even better: C.M. Waters. Heh, perhaps. Do have a finisher name...may sound corny...but I thought "Watersfall" could be a finisher name for me..
-
Slightly off topic, would my name, Chris Waters, be a good Real name wrestling name?
-
You're thinking of Torrie. However, Trish has been somewhat of a mixed-tag team whore. Trish has been with: Test, Albert, Vince, Jeff Hardy, and now Jericho. Test and Albert she wasn't totally romantic with, IIRC. I'd feel sorry for Trish if she had to do romantic scenes with Albert. ^^;

I think the major trend in recent wrestling years is to be going by your real name or as close to it as possible. Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Christopher Nowinski, Maven, Nidia, Rico...all close to real name. Same for Kendrick. Maybe that's just me though.
-
Right, right. Personally, I would like to see this turn into a double turn somehow. I know that people didn't like the old Face Jericho...but who's to say he needs to be that? The biggest problem with this is 1)it's ANOTHER rehash of McMahon/Austin and 2)Turning Austin heel.

Wasn't one of your arguments about how times have changed? Well, times have changed from the times of the Monday Night Wars. What worked THEN isn't working NOW. Hence why whatever they try now is NOT helping them boost their status anymore. A new direction is needed. I'm not saying that the direction suggested by everyone here is the RIGHT one, but it COULD be. The thing is the willingness to give new things a try. That's how the New Generation came to be. That's how the Attitude Era came to be. And that's how another new era will come to be. yes, something NEW. what you guys want is old school. no one else wants that. And you want a return to the Attitude era. What we want is GOOD storylines and GOOD wrestling blended well...minus a lot of the shock TV status that has run it's course. And something new involves new main eventers. Besides Lesnar, who have we gotten as a NEW person to the top? And that includes people who were briefly there but couldn't retain their status there.

The only thing about the London/Spanky team... PLEASE have Spanky go back to his real name. PLEASE! Spanky seems TOO indies.

How would they know? THEY'VE NEVER TRIED PUTTING HIM AS A MAJOR FOCUS!!!! Maybe if they TRIED it, it COULD be successful. Not saying it WOULD, but we'll never know until someone takes a risk! they did, when he debuted and headlined against the rock. something from that fued made vince lose faith in him. and by now, his character is not credible enough to make a major impact. i suppose it could be done but they would really have to push him hard and out of no where. and he would need a mouthpiece. No he wouldn't need a mouthpiece. I consider Bret Hart one of the greatest wrestlers, yes. But I think he had, comparitively, less charisma than any Rock and Wrestling era and beyond Champion ever had. That's just my opinion. Chris Benoit should by now be equivalent to Bret in WWE. But they won't let him be. As for character credibility: think of this, Big Show jobbed to Jeff Hardy one month...in the next month was winning the title from Lesnar. Credibility can be easily restored.

hahaha. he wouldn't last. he may be crazy, but not like flair crazy. he's crazy in the sense that one one will understand what he's saying. And what would make him any different from Dusty Rhodes or Steve McMichael in that respect?

WARRIOR ANNOUNCES RETURN TO WRESTLING
ChrisMWaters replied to The Thread Killer's topic in TNA Wrestling
Why does everyone assume that Warrior's return to pro wrestling will be in a wrestling form? Who knows, he could say he wants to be a color commentator! -
I had a scary thought... Maybe Warrior's return to wrestling won't be in the ring. Maybe...Warrior: Color Commentator?
-
For proof of that point: HHH and X-Pac's King of the Ring Tournament match. Which KOTR was this? I can't remember them facing each other when they were both heels. KOTR 98, I believe. It was shortly after Waltman debuted as X-Pac.
