Geez... Is this the most Lawler has wrestled in a year in a long time? And again with Lawler's blinding white outfit. ...Carlito's hair is falling down. -

Examples of Milking a Franchise After It's Lifespan Ended
ChrisMWaters posted a topic in Television & Film
OK, recently I was watching the Ghostbusters movies on my OnDemand service...and it got me to thinking... What are some examples of trying to milk a dead franchise? How this relates to that first part was back around...97 I think it was...when they released "Extreme Ghostbusters"...years after the original series past us by. Anyone have any others? -

For the person about the Mega Man games: I have Mega Man: Powered Up for the PSP. I find it a fun game, plus it FINALLY gets an innovation for CLASSIC Mega Man, giving you a choice of 12 characters to play through as, challenge modes, and the create-a-level feature. If they could keep making innovations like that to the Mega Man series (and personal preference, bring more stuff with classic Mega Man games into the fold) I'll always be a fan of that series. -

Here's one I just thought of: The Mighty Ducks. How many sequels did THAT get? -
Updated for Turning Point. I think we have our winners and losers for the year set pretty much. Oh, and I didn't include the Young/Brooks bikini contest. Didn't think of that as a match, and I don't think the WWE thread includes them in results. If I'm wrong, someone correct me on that and I'll update appropriately.

Or they could try to convince NWA to allow them to have the North American Championship defended there as well.

Examples of Milking a Franchise After It's Lifespan Ended

It's been mentioned. And going back to my last post...I think Rudolph, Frosty, and Grinch have had a few sequels: RUDOLPH: Rudolph's Shiny New Year Rudolph & the Island of Misfit Toys FROSTY: Frosty's Winter Wonderland Frosty Returns The Legend of Frosty The Snowman (most recent special) BOTH: Rudolph & Frosty's Christmas In July GRINCH: Halloween is Grinch Night The Grinch Grinches The Cat In The Hat. Any I'm missing? -

OK...I've known about sequels to Rudolph, Frosty, and The Grinch... But when did the Charlie Brown Christmas special get a sequel? O_o -

I blame the recent trend of dishing out sequel after sequel to their old classics squarely on whatever success "Return of Jafar" had. Luckily though, from what I read, either "Cinderella III", "Peter Pan III" or "Little Mermaid III" will end that trend. Whichever comes out last. -

I'm a Transformers nut, but that only goes as far as Generation 1 (the first series 1984-1987 and the original Marvel comic run)...the rest is garbage. Even the newer TF comics (though the art work is beautiful). Now, as for the movie, I am going to see it just because, but my expectations aren't very high. Even the Beast Wars/Machines part? Which...unlike most of the other newer Transformers stuff, is actually a continuation of G1? -

Corey: I never said it was bad...I'm just saying that it came out after the Ghostbusters franchise died out, and before the nostalgia kick that's been going around recently started up. And at least they didn't totally forget about the original toon (even though they couldn't use TOO much from it...long copyright story there), and had the original Ghostbusters appear in a 2 parter (which I wanna see, for the record) And horror movies are a good example. -
Updated for the last show before Turning Point

He should have asked Christian for help. GET THE CHICKEN SUIT!

Nevermind on the XPlosion result. Found it. And now, Williams/Homicide to start. THis easily could be a PPV X-Division match if Homicide was not a tag champ.
-
Slightly off topic... Anyone know what the most recent XPlosion match was? I can't find any results reports anywhere for it.
