Oh, so FX is the name of that channel? I thought it was the M.A.S.H Network.
-
1. he was very much out of shape 2. the Great Muta and ... 3. Brutus Beefcake 6. Harley Race? 7. Lex Luger?
-
Fox News or Comedy Central. Locally, Fox or NBC. I don't even know what channel ABC and CBS are here...
-
Perfect won PWI's Manager of the Year for 92 ... so I'd count him in.

If I were them, I would ignore that altogether for many reasons - the least of which being the whole mask issue. Mini Konnan blew.

Shinja aka Steve Lombardi Lombardi wasn't Shinja, it was Sato from the Orient Express.
-
2. Butch Reed, the Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, One Man Gang, the Big Bossman, Paul Roma, Hercules, the Warlord 3. Ole Anderson 4. Shinja 5. a dogcatcher suit 6. Chuck Palumbo? 8. Owen Hart? 9. Roddy Piper 10. an empty box

I don't think it has anything to do with ego - I think it's just a matter of what would sell and how to market the product. Several classic or at least memorable WCW matches have been featured on WWE DVDs thus far. Flair / Steamboat from Nashville, Hogan / Flair from Orlando, and to a lesser extent Steiner / Booker from the final Nitro. Seriously, how well would an item like a re-released Starrcade 97 DVD do in comparison to ... a WrestleMania X-9? WCW has been out of the picture for too long and the fan base is not big enough to make the WWE a ton of money just by re-releasing old events. For the time being, the only way we're going to get classic WCW footage is via WWE bio DVDs (Hogan for one ... hopefully in the future we'll see a Flair, Bret, and Benoit collection among others).

The answers to the remaining 2. The Bushwhackers. This was on an episode of All-American the first week or so of August 93. The Bushwhackers won with the battering ram, I believe. Not only would Bret not be able to wrestle in the U.S. if he couldn't beat HBK in 10 minutes, but each member of the Hart Foundation would be handcuffed to a ringpost for the duration of the match.

The Flair / Savage and Sting & Luger / Harlem Heat title matches took place on the same Nitro - the day before the Jan 96 Clash of the Champions. I believe the world title match, with Savage coming out on top, was the first match of the night.
-
It would be. Raw was preempted for 2 weeks after Summer Slam and that was the first new episode, complete with the Raw on the Roof intro (of course it was all taped the day after Summer Slam). It competed with the Luger / Hogan Nitro in Miami.
-
Not the first of the year. When do season premires usually start popping up?
-
I was referring to WWF but you have a point. Not overly well-read when it comes to ECW since their videos are harder to come by.

There's a lot of footage the WWE has to work with in putting the DVD together. If it were me, I'd add either the GAB 96 or Havoc 96 bout with Malenko - both were awesome at the time and still hold up. Ultimo Dragon at Hog Wild 96. Eddie at Havoc 97. Rey / Kidman vs. Benoit / Malenko in Toronto. Either of the matches between Rey and Kidman during the spring of 99 (Nitro or Spring Stampede). The cruiserweight tag team title match from the final Nitro. Maybe even the match he had with Kevin Nash in which he pinned Nash clean (right after losing the mask). WWE-wise... debut vs. Chavo on Smackdown ... Summer Slam vs. Kurt Angle ... Rey vs. Benoit vs. Angle in San Diego ... the 2 / 3 falls tag title match with Rey / Edge vs. Angle / Benoit from Smackdown

No. The Raw Bowl was the Jan 1, 96 edition.

I had wondered about Fury after seeing him listed in the acting credits during the FX version. Interesting.

Ah, the good ole days. I remember watching the mini movie for Havoc 92 that the Preview channel would run all the time. Once my dad came down to the basement before going to bed, saw it, thought I was watching some cheesy R-rated movie on Cinemax, and told me to turn the channel to something else. HBK / Bulldog was devestating. Davey Boy was my favorite at the time and I HATED Michaels with a passion for "stealing" the belt.

Austin / Angle 1 was on Raw in early January from San Jose...which is somewhat close to Anaheim (?).
-
Correct answers so far... 1) Fully Loaded 99 Iron Circle match 2) Flair / Giant 3) I guess I'll give it ... you guys were close enough ... Duggan ran around the ring with the 2X4 to clear the ring 5) Savage and Slaughter 6) Toronto 7) Jim Powers 9) there was more to it than simply Bret not being able to wrestle in the U.S. if he couldn't beat HBK in 10 minutes 10) the Killer Bees

Just thought I'd ask if anyone would have photographs of these cards? I'm looking for more shots to add to what I have thus far - the earliest thus far being from 1993.

1. What was Kurt Angle's first appearance on PPV? 2. What title changed hands on the same Nitro that featured Lord Steven Regal against Fit Finley in a parking lot match? Who were the participants? 3. Who cleared the ring of all the lumberjacks following the HBK / Duggan lumberjack match on Raw in May of 93? 4. What were the two major matches on the "season premire" of Raw in 1995? This would be the first Raw that included the "Raw on the Roof" opening. 5. What 2 men have defeated the Ultimate Warrior in steel cage matches? 6. In what city did Bret Hart suffer several broken ribs in the fall of 1989? Well documented. 7. Who did Ric Flair face in his WWF debut in 1991? 8. Who did the Quebecars face and lose to in their WWF TV debut? 9. What were the stipulations to the 1997 KOTR match between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels that was later cancelled? 10. Who won the first Frank Tunney Memorial Tag Team Tournament?
