They actually fought every other day between October 91 and January 92. Once Flair won the belt, the one-on-one matches stopped to build heat for the Hogan / Flair bout that was scheduled for WrestleMania.

That's gold. I use that a lot myself.

Bart looking at an assortment of name keychains. "Bort? Who would name their child Bort?" ... walks off Another kid walks up ... "Mom, look!" "Come now, Bort, we have to go!"

It was an uber geek dressed as Darth Vader. Triumph was interested in all the little buttons on his chest plate.

One particular segment when Conan was going through the fake satellite TV channels that he can get at the NBC stuidios. One was entitled "Stackunbloch" (German) and it was a game show where a woman had to arrange all the objects on her table at a 90 degree angle. When she was done, she yelled "STACKUNBLOCH!" and a German military officer came over with a ruler to measure. One of the objects was at like an 88 degree angle and the guy yells "NEIN, DAS IST NICHT STTACKUNBLOCH!" and a flurry of military officers and guard dogs kick her ass. Same episode. Another was called "The Sean Connery Prank Phone Call Channel". *ring* Person: Hello? Connery: Is your refridgerator running? Person: Why, yes it is. Connery: WELL YOU BETTA GO CATCH IT! And then at the end of all his prank phone calls, a South-Park-Saddam-Hussein-esque pic of Connery would pop up and he'd yell "GOTCHA! YOU'RE AN IDIOT!" Love all the Triumph appearances. Triumph waiting in line for Attack of the Clones, Triumph at the Westminster Dog Show (with the dog toys that double for sex toys), and the footage of Triumph backstage at 'Hollywood Squares'.

*In Nelson voice* HA HA ... FAT WHORE

The nerds were awesome, I'll agree with that. Andrew: "I always liked Timothy Dalton..." And whatever happened to the Death Star van? That was gold!

The good thing about bottles of alcohol is that they can also be used as bum weapons.

This would be very nice but I'm not holding my breath.

Okay, Germany has lost all credibility. ...Not that they had much before now.

http://www.angelfire.com/wrestling/cawthon777/92.htm Scroll down to September. The one match I've seen between the two was courtesy of a handheld recording of the Providence, RI show on September 10th. Taker hit the tombstone, Mr. Perfect nailed him with a chair (which of course led to a DQ), Taker no sold, Perfect ran his ass backstage - leaving Flair dead in the ring.

1. The Hart Foundation Consistantly one of the top teams in the world for 6 years straight. Could put on solid bouts with anyone. Could break into singles runs (88-89), come back as a tag team, and not miss a beat. 2. Rick & Scott Steiner Like the Harts, had a very long run as a successful team (89-98). Great mixture of power wrestling and amateur styles. "Smash mouth" as Jim Ross would say. 3. The Hollywood Blondes I loved to hate these guys. Fantastic chemistray. Seemed like they had been together for years when in actuality, the Blondes were around for only one. Had classic bouts with Steamboat / Douglas, the Horsemen, and Scorpio / Bagwell. 4. Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard No nonsence, technical, tag team greats. One of my favorite matches of all time is their bout with the Harts at Summer Slam 89. 5. Owen Hart & the British Bulldog The cream of the crop in an era dominated by hog farmers, workout enthusiasts, cowboys, and Hall & Nash. What Hall & Nash had in charisma and mic skills, Owen & Bulldog had in wrestling psychology and tag team ability. 6. Edge & Christian Their promos alone are good enough for a high mention. 7. Ted Dibiase & IRS Both men were great on the mic and had the fans hating them before the bell even rang. Their bouts with the LOD, Natural Disasters, Nasty Boys, and Steiners showcase the ability of Money Inc. The cage match with the Steiners was very good and I always liked their Summer Slam match with the LOD in London. 8. Jacques & Raymond Rougeau Like E&C, their promos and theme music alone are good enough to get a high mention. 9. The British Bulldogs Paved the way for a smaller, more agile, more technically sound era of tag team wrestling. 10. The Midnight Express (Eaton & Lane) Great tag team psychology. Could work great as faces or heels.

They actually did have a few matches. One specifically is mentioned by Piper in his book. He allowed the Undertaker to give him a tombstone on the floor - thus losing the match via count-out - so he could sell it like death the next day at the grand jury for Vince's trial with the government. Flair and Taker also had a few bouts after Flair regained the title from Savage.

Or collard greens ... although that might be something only people in the South are aware of.

It was stupid because it was out of nowhere and Ahmed had made it his life's mission to kill Farooq. What "white man's bullshit" was Ahmed putting up with anyway?

This was right around the time that Heenan retired as a manager. I've seen the July 91 MSG telecast and Heenan's former team of Haku & the Barbarian teamed up to face Fuji's Orient Express. Heenan was working color commentary and Fuji actually worked the match, subbing for Kato. At one point, Fuji went to the floor and there was a big pull apart between the two in which Heenan recieved a HUGE ovation from the crowd. I think it was mostly out of respect for all the years he put in as a manager (the MSG crowd is usually big on giving respect when it's due). I'd assume that most of the Long Island audience were either at that show or saw it on the MSG Network. I can't guarentee 100% accuracy in the match order - but the Warlord wasn't exactly a draw as a top heel contender. As is often the case nowadays, the world title match could have taken place right before the intermission (thus allowing Hogan to leave early) and then an actual "good" match would finish the show.

The thing is that nobody in recent memory has shouted out about it as much as he has. Religion cannot be faulted for that. Try blaming the people instead. Religion simply provides something to believe in, it doesn't mean it's going to cause the world to go all homicidal. Anything can be a religion - it doesn't have to be Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, etc. Let's say that wrestling is my religion (and technically it can be) and that Chris Benoit is my savior. What's the harm? ...At least my make believe higher power is still alive. Well damn recent memory. Someone should tell Bush to shut up since he's so different and what not.

Oh oh, look at me, I'm Janeane Groffolo... "I have integrity because I'm not a pretty girl. What I lack in prettiness I make up for in being a smart feminist. I hate pretty people. They have made me sad and jaded to the world. Look at how ugly and fat I am. Listen as I use self-deprecating humor."

I didn't even know "Bumfights" existed until a few months ago. Last summer I had an idea to go into DC with a few friends - bring a camcorder, a Burger King extra value meal, and $20. Put the food and $20 in the middle of the two bums and see which one could get to them first. Either that or a bottle of Jack Daniels...

Actually some of those did take place. Piper and Savage had a few bouts during their WWF years. Bret and Luger had a post-WrestleMania IX rivalry. Steamboat and Vader had a few very memorable bouts on Saturday Night if not elswhere (classic underdog Steamboat that never gives up until he's squashed like a bug). Let's see ... Well, if I can pick any wrestler that was a main eventer... Rhodes vs. Hogan (89) Rhodes vs. Andre (89) Rhodes vs. Warrior (89) Bret vs. King Mabel (95) Savage vs. Bossman (88-89) Rude vs. Vader (94 ... although it did almost happen)

Sad as it may be, I think I can do most of this off the top of my head. Whatever I'm missing can probably be found on the site. 1993: Bob Backlund vs Lex Luger Luger via count-out after knocking Backlund off the apron with the steel forearm Doink vs Mr. Perfect (3 times) Perfect-Plex on Doink #2 after they switched places Papa Shongo vs Hacksaw Duggan with the running clothesline EL Madator vs BB Bigelow It was actually Razor vs. Santana. Bigelow fought Typhoon on Raw and won with the diving headbutt (the same Raw that had Duggan / HBK lumberjack match). Razor beat Santana when Tito went for a flying crossbody and Razor rolled on top for the win Jimmy Del Rey vs Tattanka (Del Ray was subbed for some one else, although I can't remember who) The Heavenly Bodies didn't come into the WWF until early August. Tatanka fought Giant Gonzalez and won via DQ when Gonzalez wouldn't release a choke. This was kind of an important match since Gonzalez had killed everyone and Tatanka was undefeated at the time So that leaves Bret/Razor/Mr. Huges beat ??? Bret got an automatic bye into the first round due to him having the world title stolen from him. Mr. Hughes beat Harvey Wippleman's earlier protege Kamala with a roll up. 1994 Owen beat Doink (Sub for Earthquake) Roll up after Jeff Jarrett came ringside Jeff Jarret beat Lex Luger by CO Luger fought with Crush in the aisle after Crush came ringside Razor/BBBigelow/IRS/Mabel/Tatanka/123 Kid beat??? Razor beat Kwang with the Razor's Edge. Bigelow pinned Bob Holly with a slingshot splash into the ring. IRS beat Scott Steiner with a roll up and using the ropes (the Steiners' last TV appearance in the WWF). Mabel beat Quebecar Pierre with a splash. Tatanka beat Crush in a lumberjack match (rematch after their previous battle went to a draw) after Luger interfered. The Kid beat Adam Bomb, I believe, after Kwang's interference backfired and he sprayed Bomb in the eyes with the green mist (face turn for Bomb foreshadowed). 1995 Owen and the Bulldog went to a Double CO so Yoko vs Lex was made instead and Yoko won that... via count-out after a legdrop on the floor Mabel beat Adom Bomb powerslam at In Your House #1 Razor beat some one, but was hurt and subbed by Savio Vega after he beat IRS Razor beat one of the Blu Twins (Harris Brothers). Savio beat IRS during the preshow with a spin kick. Shawn Micheals beat KKBundy (I think?) Yep, HBK's first match back after Sid put him on the shelf. Superkick. After the match, he reunited with Diesel and the two, along with Bigelow, celebrated. Roadie/Bob Holly/Kama/Taker??? (Taker over Jarrett?) Taker pinned Jarrett in a non-title match with the tombstone. The Roadie pinned Doink with a roll up. Bob Holly pinned Mantaur with a flying crossbody. Kama defeated Duke Drose. 1996 Jake Roberts beat Bradshaw (I think he faced HHH in Rd 1 on RAW though) Roberts over both men with the DDT. Austin/Mero/Vader??? Austin beat Bob Holly and then Savio Vega - I believe he debuted the Stunner in the Savio bout. Mero beat Skip and then Owen Hart. Vader beat Ahmed Johnson (Ahmed's first TV loss) after Owen Hart came off the top rope with his Slammy to the back of Ahmed's head. After that match is when Goldust tried to revive Ahmed with mouth-to-mouth which led to their KOTR match. 1997 Lawler/HHH/Mankind/Ahmed???????? Lawler pinned Goldust with his feet on the ropes. Triple H pinned Crush with the Pedigree. Originally, Triple H had been eliminated after a qualifying match with Ahmed Johnson in which Chyna interfered and got Hunter DQ'ed. He threatened to take legal action against the WWF since they didn't tell him he could be eliminated via DQ. So he subbed for Vader (who was healing from injuries sustained by Ken Shamrock at IYH) against Crush. Mankind beat Savio Vega with the Mandible Claw. Ahmed, as I said before, beat Triple H via DQ. 1998 Shamrock/Jarret/Severn/Rocky???????? Let's see if I can remember the rounds. I know Rock pinned Vader with the Rock Bottom after Mark Henry interfered. He followed that up with a pinfall over Triple H just 6 days before the PPV. Jarrett pinned Marc Mero. I believe Severn beat D-Lo Brown in a qualifying match via submission (tearing D-Lo's pectoral in the process and forcing him to wear the chest protector for months and months). He might have also scored a submission over the Godfather.

I thought Spike added a lot to Season 4. 'Beer Bad', 'Superstar', 'Hush', and 'Restless' were all great eps IMO. It was def better than Season 6.
-
Oh, remember when Farooq challenged Taker at KOTR 97? And for weeks beforehand, Farooq would come out and go "How many brotha's been world champion? None. Why is that? You holding da black man down, MacMan!" To make it even more stupid, Ahmed Johnson sided with Farooq on that issue (even though the two were hated rivals at the time).

I didn't really take it as a racist promo, but whatever. WWE writers are not known for their grasp on logic ... or being smart.

Oh, I don't mind Addiction Willow. Think about the pay off - we got to see Evil Willow with the black hair and black eyes ... aaaahhhhhh ... Evil Willow ... Buffy / Spike was disturbing at times. I had been watching Season 1 and 2 on FX ... turn on my first episode of 6, and there's Buffy having sex with Spike out in front of the damn fast food restaurant. "...When did she get her degree in whoring?"
