So Joss is still working on a spin-off ... just without Faith? Interesting...

Note to self ... cancel Spring Break plans in Haifa
-
Big freaking deal, it's not like the Constitution is being burned because two nobodies were kicked out of a mall. I'd be interested to see what kind of spin the article put on the situation rather than the mall - especially since the mall even sold them the shirts to begin with. I don't remember hearing about the Facist Mall of America so there's def more to this story than what's been told.

I don't think it was meant to get ratings. It was meant to make Flair look good before his title defense at Mania.

I know there was a thread up quite a while back that dealt with stuff like "I slap my gum like Mr. Perfect" ... "I do the bad ass motherfucker walk like Stone Cold" ... etc. I'm not talking about that. How has wrestling - whether directly or indirectly - gained your interest in other things? For instance ... After the 1992 Bret Hart music video "Makin Some Noise" by Tom Petty - I became a big Tom Petty fan After I watched an Andy Kaufman TV special back in 95 and learned of his feud with Jerry Lawler, I became a big Kaufman fan When Jesse Ventura was elected governor of Minnesota, I became interested in politics For YEARS after seeing Summer Slam 92 (still my favorite PPV of all time) ... as well as Monty Python & the Holy Grail ... I begged my parents to let me go with them whenever my dad would go to London on a business trip. I finally got there, about a year and a half ago, on the morning of 9/11 I think I've learned the correct spelling of every major city in America and am very aware of many of the arenas in North America rich in wrestling history (MSG, Cow Palace, Nassau, Meadowlands, Maple Leaf Gardens, etc)

Mmhmm, I think it's called "Paltrow & Mike Myers Go Slumming" ...Riley breaks up with Paltrow? BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
-
Maybe it's because the administration that was in place at the time didn't want to go to all the trouble of doing something about the situation.
-
What's wrong with that? We are risking American lives not only to get Saddam out of power, and thus get rid of the thorn that has been in our sides for over a decade, but we're also freeing the Iraqi people after almost 25 years of living under a regime of oppression.
-
Well, when you're going to war it's best to be overprepared than under. I don't think they know how many Americans will die unless they're using the White House Magic 8-Ball.

Rummie is a fucking joke. Don't come on this forum expecting rummie-luv to be taken serously. Neither does a claim with no genuine evidence to back it up. And even if he had gassed SOME kurds at one, finite point in time, it's nothing on the scale of destruction that an invasion will likely bring. So basically what you just said was "I don't like you being able to back up your claims, so I'm going to discredit what you said cause I'm right and you're wrong." Bottom line, has anyone here heard of this random diplomat before now? No. So why should we kiss his feet for speaking his mind and leaking it to the press to aid the anti-war movement PR battle? It's not a big loss. Fact: Saddam has slaughtered hundereds of thousands of his people since coming into power in 1979. I repeat, fact. A good number of those were Kurds. That's how he tests his chemical weapons.

1993 was the best, without a doubt. The 2nd PPV I ever ordered. Bret Hart's finest hour. All the tournaments after that, for the most part, blew.

Again, that's not an example of Affirmative Action. Yale was not forced to bring him in, they weren't given a quota by the government that they should enroll 1 member of the Bush family that semester. That had nothing to do with race and it wasn't something forced by the U.S. government. Not that it has any bearing in this thread but I don't know all the specifics of Bush's school years, nor does anyone else here, so I'm not going to make comments one way or the other. He did well on his SATs - he's not a retard (as if being President wouldn't disprove that to begin with).
-
That's not AA at all. That's just having connections. If you wanted a job somewhere and you knew someone that worked there and they helped you get that job, is that Affirmative Action? No. That's just the result of networking.
-
Because he wasn't doing this months ago. Hell, the man has barely even wrestled on Raw and yet he's made it a much more watchable show just by his promos alone.
-
An entire thread on what SK has to say? Sheep, you're all sheep!
-
Triple H wasn't making fun of every WCW Champion, he was just saying that Booker was given the title during the crappiest point in WCW's history when Russo and Arquette were also title holders. Of course, Flair agreeing is also a bit off since Flair got the belt a mere month after Arquette had it.

Them be fighting words 'round these here parts...

They want a non-aggression treaty yet they pull this stunt and threaten us with nuclear bombs?

Oh Jesus, the "COME DOWN FROM YOUR IVORY TOWER, PROFESSOR!" card has been drawn twice now. Appeal to popularity and ignorance all you want, we all know it's bullshit. This man knows far more about the situation than you do. He's been involved in our government and in our relations with foreign nations since the Reagan administration, which makes him far more qualified than idiots working in 7-11s who are sure Saddam is a bad fella, but couldn't find Iraq on a map, and have a memory span of five years. A cry of "LOL YOU KNOW NOTHING" from someone's couch before switching to SmackDown means nothing. You know, if you want to debate something - that's fine. There's no need for going all 10-year-old and coming up with the most random and moronic insults you can come up with to try to change my opinion. Rumsfeld has been involved in our government well before Reagan came along. And, being the head of the Department of Defense, wouldn't you think he might know more than this random diplomat who spends most of his time overseas trying to appease anyone and everyone? I'm well aware of where Iraq is, I'm too busy with college to work at 7-11, and I have a very vivid memory thank you very much. How about you get off your own high horse?
-
That's completely false. Is Saddam the best friend of bin Laden? No. Does that mean he's not a terrorist and does not support terrorism? No.
-
That's the other reason I don't support torturing people like this for information, Jay. Never mind that it's evil and reprehensible, but it's almost certain to end in the victim lying, just to tell his tormentors something that sounds like what they want to hear. There are far more humane ways of trying to get the truth out of someone than breaking out the pliers and blowtorch. They talk eventually, doesn't matter if he hates us or not. I'd gather to assume that he was caught thanks to information provided by captured associates of his. When they're imprisoned, they don't know where they are - they don't know what time it is - they aren't allowed a comfortable amount of sleep. Alter their surroundings and confuse them enough and they break.

I didn't see anything bad with what Triple H said. He went out there to confront his challenger for WrestleMania and he put a LOT of face heat on Booker. He went to the ring to make the fans buy 'Mania for the sole purpose of seeing Booker kick Triple H's ass and win the world title.
-
Excess was nothing. Who remembers Livewire in 96? I believe Todd Pettingeil and Sunny hosted for the first few months. One of the callers once asked if the WWF was going to put together a cruiserweight division and then went on to list about 10 well-known WCW cruiserweights. Sunny: *dumbfounded on how to answer* Uh....yeah. Guys like Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero, and Rey Mysterio Jr. are amazing in the ring ... um ... next caller?
-
Does this mean that guy from Ally McBeal is going to join Evolution?
-
I don't care what Triple H feels. He can go to hell ... he can go to hell and he can die. ...Although he did cut a great promo last night on Booker T and got the fans even more behind the challenger. Of course, now we'll feel the sting of defeat even more when 'Mania comes and goes and Triple Ego still has his belt.
