I'm not huge on Taker myself but I thought his Ministry phase absolutely TANKED. Maybe it's just me but I didn't buy into the whole demonic theme. The best incarnation of Taker thus far has to be the original. He was like a Terminator ... didn't feel pain and never stayed down. Went undefeated for his entire rookie year as well. Well, as far as TV was concerned.

I remember the Razor / Goldust skirmish. That was good TV; they battled out of the arena into the snow. Flair and Windham had a pretty good backstage brawl in 93 leading into Beach Blast. That one ended up in the parking lot as well. I believe the LOD had their asses handed to them in the winter of 97 by the original DX and the Outlaws.

Wow, that was intense. Anyone know of the backstory between Douglas and Pillman? Was there legit heat between the two? I know they had a pretty good singles feud in WCW in 92 that turned into a tag team feud involving Steamboat and Austin.

I suppose you could include TLC 4 since it included a member from each of the original teams. BTW, TLC 3 was May of 01. One day after Benoit and Jericho won the belts. Two days after Judgement Day. Other than that, it looks like you have most if not all. I can't think of any off the top of my head but I've got detailed results from 00 and 01 if you want to check out the site.

No, he doesn't. But it doesn't hurt either!

That looks awesome. Can't wait for Season 4. 'Restless' was very good albeit not what we're used to as far as season finales. I think the major criticism for that season was because there was no evil plot to end the world, thus no kick-ass buildup, thus no pay off. But foreshadowing ALWAYS = damn awesome.

It was good. The intrigue was that this was Bret's first TV match back after Survivor Series and it was only 6 days before the Rumble where both men were challenging for titles. Bret had William Shatner in his corner while Jarrett had the Roadie. As I remember, Bret got him with a roll up.

That was bloody hilarious!

I could live with that. But Spike dying = uber sad SPOILER A few weeks ago, I heard Joss was trying to work out a deal with UPN and the WB so that Angel could appear on Buffy - most likely for the final episode. He was given the green light by both companies.

If you thought those were bad, anyone check out the Holiday special from 78? It featured the debut of Bobba Fett and included the real voices of all the major players (Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, Vader, the droids, etc). But the animation was right up there with a PCP hallucination. Everyone looked like they had down syndrome. It's on Kazaa if anyone's interested.

I remember Brad. He was an olympian and got the Ken Patera/Mark Henry/Kurt Angle olympian push. Back when Curt was feuding with Goldberg in 98, he mentioned on TV a few times that Brad Rhenegis had been training him day in and day out and when given the chance he'd beat Goldberg on the mat and take his title. Nailz was Kevin Kelly. The non-WWE color guy.

I said the Hart name, I didn't specify Bret.
-
Okay, I'll put it like this. Both men are two of the most respected today. That's a given. Bret has paved the way and helped train those like the Rock, Edge, Test, and Christian while the Hart name is sinomamous with names like Roddy Piper, Brian Pillman, the British Bulldogs, Curt Hennig, Rick Martel, Chris Benoit, Lance Storm, and Chris Jericho. On the other hand, Shawn's offense and charisma can be seen in current stars like the Hardy Boyz and Rob Van Dam. So both men have done a lot for for the industry. You can't take that away from them. But Shawn's still a back-stabbing, can't-find-my-smile, won't-lay-down-for-any-man, won't-job-my-title, will-only-come-back-to-put-over-my-best-friend shill.

There should be a rule - you face a guy 6 times on pay-per-view and you can never speak to that person on camera EVER again. Move on. Work a program with Billy Kidman or something.

Eh, that would be a cop-out (and pretty repetative). I personally think she will somehow give up her slayer powers, rather than die, and allow Faith to take over.

Not sure if I get what you're saying but I don't think Spike is any less tormented by his soul. Getting rid of the chip was more of a mental boost than anything else - Buffy's believing in him and allowing his chip to be removed. He was a "wuss" because 1) the chip (although he was a bad ass for several seasons even when he had it) 2) he was / is in love with Buffy and knows he can't have her and 3) dealing with his new soul. He lost the bad ass attitude last season because he was so involved with Buffy. It made him mentally weak. After she went off on him on the previous show, it kinda set him straight and challenged him to bring out the bad ass within.

As long as you don't kill your sister, hit the Stunner on a teacher, or mug a guy and put him in the "Crossface Crippler", you should be okay.

"I go back to mah col-lege now ... er ... I go back to mah crypt now." I'm not sure what the relationship is at this point. I think Buffy is more interested in Spike because he's less interested in her (typical woman). But there's potential there. And remember what the chick from 'Help' said to Spike (the one that died and later came back as the first) - "She will tell you. Eventually, she will tell you." (paraphrased) Andrew = funny. I love all the little comic book references that even I don't get - especially when Xander chimes in and it's clear he knows exactly what Andrew means. They should bring back the Death Star van; that was bloody awesome!

That's one way to look at it. It's the wrong way, but it's a way. Bret has trained COUNTLESS past and current WWE stars. Right off the top of my head - Test, Edge, Christian, Shamrock, and Blackman trained together at the Dungeon in 97. I read an interview Test did a while back for a magazine where he made the Hart Home sound like OVW, like the WWF would send guys there all the time to get the training they needed to have an on-camera role. And Bret was made out to be the man in charge of it all. Think of it as a successful and legit version of the Warrior's failed training school. Wow, HBK trained two or three guys that the non-TWA fan is aware of. As far as the Bret-Shawn track record... Beginning with WrestleMania VIII and Bret winning the IC title, he beat Shawn just about every other day for 6 months straight (including the ladder match in Portland, ME in July of 92). Then he beat him again at Survivor Series. Then they had another feud after Lawler had to deal with his rape charges in the fall of 93. Bret beat him many more times then, including the cage match in Utica, NY on December 1, 93. Shawn was Bret's whipping boy until WrestleMania XII. There were triple threat matches involving the two in 97 - with both Bret and Shawn as the reinging champion. Several were decided by one man scoring the pin on the other, including Shawn holding onto the strap against Bret and Sid at Skydome. Saying Shawn had the upper hand in their rivalry is garbage.

Dude, what he was saying could not have been more of a joke. WCW was in the shit hole and he was making fun of the WWF ratings, that were probably higher than ever before. Rocky was just hitting mainstream popularity outside of the ring. Jericho was just trying to get a heel reaction for seeing the good as crap.

Flair ... Rumble 92 ... 'nuff said
-
Yeah, he's most likely referring to the Hogan / Hart Summer Slam 93 bout that never took place because Hogan left (some say because he didn't want to job to Bret clean). I don't think Bret is the worst by far. Just one of many. Still my favorite.
-
The contract between CHV and the WWF ran out in December of 97. I think the WWF was looking to produce its own videos anyway so they just parted ways. If the WWE were to do anything like what an old CHV consisted of, then I would love to see some random house show matches from various big arenas around North America. - Austin vs. Jericho ... Winnipeg, June 01 - Hogan vs. Taker / RVD vs. Eddie (ladder) ... MSG, June 02 etc.

You show me an established star from yesteryear ... hell, from the past 5 years ... and I'll show you a self-involved egomaniac. Sure, there are exceptions to the rule ... but it's still a rule. Piper, Hogan, Flair, Honky, Bret, Shawn, Hunter, Hunter, Hunter, Hunter, Goldberg, Nash, etc. As quoted in the fan-made Bret Hart 'Desire' video "If you don't believe you're the best ... then you're gonna get beat." And all those guys, like so many others before and since, believed they were the best. Wrestling is a profession built around self-promotion. You kinda have to be self-involved, at least to degree.

Bret didn't tell me to hate Shawn. I'm doing that out of the kindness of my heart. And if you listend to his interview on the Observer back in January, it's clear that he is pretty much over everything - at least moreso than ever before.
