You know when I feel RVD's downturn began? Back in September when he was working with Triple H. Before then it was Chris Benoit and ladder matches with Eddie Guerrero. ...Thought that was interesting.

First you steal my woman then you steal Glenn Quin's job and send him into depression which led to his death (go with me here)??? Wesley's a dead man.

The last Halloween movie < horse shit Halloween 1 is a classic; I can still get into that. II is okay, if for nothing more than developing Jaime Lee Curtis' character and her relationship with Michael. The rest are fodder for cable horror movie marathons. Well if they can't get Busta, maybe they can try for Ja-Rule or Jay-Z (major sarcasm).

Speaking on Angel Season 1, anyone know why Glenn Quinn was let go? I know he died last fall from drug use. Same reason?

I just check out Meltzer. And when I need to know the no-BS, just-give-me-the-results-in-a-descriptive-manner rundown of last's weeks Raw and Smackdown! ... I check out my site.

Was anyone else into the movies / TV series? I was into the first film but the second killed the momentum. Haven't seen the two since but the final film with both Christopher Lambert and Adrian Paul looks interesting. I picked up Season 1 of the TV show earlier today at Best Buy. Classic early 90s syndicated TV. Not the greatest show but very nostalgic. Back in 6th grade (92-93), my Saturdays were usually spent watching WWF Superstars, Star Trek: the Next Generation, and Highlander. And on an interesting note, the mascot of my university is the highlander. Sadly, I don't think they mean the immortal kind that goes around chopping people's heads off.

Which one of these WM would get higher buyrate?
cawthon777 replied to LooseCannon25's topic in The WWE Folder
Gotta go with the second on both questions. Goldberg's been gone long enough that I don't know if bringing him back would do much in terms of buyrates. Maybe if there were a lot of die-hard Goldberg marks that might make the determining factor, I don't know. I think if you take Goldberg off the first card the second is stronger without a doubt. Austin / HHH one-on-one. Hogan / McMahon is on both so that doesn't make a difference either way. Same with Brock / Angle. Jericho / Michaels can draw a lot better than Nash / Michaels - both on workrate and buyrate. Undertaker / Rhyno, Rock / Benoit (with Benoit going over if there is a god), and Team Angle / Guerreros sway my vote. -
If you had a choice of one to win a world title

Benoit. He has the most potential to pull off a Bret Hart-ish title run and make himself credible by beating every other mid carder / main eventer on the roster ... while making them look good in the process. -
Or it might have been mentioned on a non-communist news website.

I agree. Maybe they could use this in his character ala the Shockmaster falling through the wall. He can be "Nathan Jones - Hoodlum". And every week, he can get arrested for spray painting Stephanie's car or mugging Michael Cole. The possibilities are endless. We all remember Positively Kanyon, right? Hoodlum Jones has potential to be that!

Everything said regarding HBK and Triple H else checks out. But this is new. A few years ago, during a magazine / internet interview, Bret said that he and Hogan got along great. He had heard rumors about Hogan not wanting to pass him the torch but their proposed Summer Slam 93 bout was never mentioned to him by Vince ... so he assumed they were merely rumors since Hogan was always nice to him in person. I believe this was after his WCW stint; perhaps when he was a guest on the LAW days after his release / retirement.

I used to really get into the Grammys...until I realized they were as rigged as Raw X. The performances are usually pretty good though.

I sure do not want to be in evil Hell place with all the uber vamps. Uber vamp does not = fun. I can see Spike being killed off. However, in an article I came across a while back, Alyson Hannigan stated that both James Marsters and Nicholas Brendon were very interested in being involved in the spin-off, whatever that may be. I guess Spike could be in flashbacks or something and still remain dead. Who do I expect to die? Anya. But yeah, if Beck scores it - expect something very emotional. Becomming Part 2, anyone?

If I get a dog, I'll name him Stupid Dog. ...That doesn't have much to do with wrestling, does it?

I know it wasn't the only. This was the rule rather than the exception.

God would smile upon the earth and all would be good.

With all due respect to guys like Backlund and Bruno, but the WWF could not have become as big as it is now if these guys were the best flagbearers the company ever had. It took Hogan to make the company a world-wide entity and it took guys like Bret Hart and HBK to give the title credibility. Bret better fucking win. REMEMBER THE MOLSON CENTRE!!!!!

Sting was to have teamed with Steamboat. Throughout November, Flair and Austin had numerous confrontations. Matter of fact, Sid Vicious' last bout before he went scissors-happy was Sid / Flair vs. Vader / Austin. Then at the Clash of the Champions which took place after the TV taping (although it was shown before), had Flair almost beating Vader. Then after the decision, guess who does the run in? Austin. 10 days after the Clash was Battlebowl. Guess what two mean are teamed up but can't quite get along? Flair and Austin. They advance to the battle royal where both are in the final four. After Havoc, Austin really had nothing to do with Rhodes. He put Pillman behind him at the Clash and was on the verge of something big with Flair. Rhodes, meanwhile, was in the middle of a feud with Paul Orndorff that also involved Dusty and the Assassin.

The One and Only Joe Millionaire Final Ep. thread

What was the 'surprise twist'? That Zora was a former butch lesbian circus midget? Melissa should have won. And if not that, FOX should have at least posted her phone number on the screen earlier. I want some of that. -
Not huge on westerns but Eastwood always kept my interest in 'The Man with No Name' roles.

Hmmm, yes, not quality. But the theme to WrestleMania 6-9 ruled the school.

Now that I'm starting to re-watch these episodes from season 1, I cannot stand Tessa at all. The accent drives me nuts and the woman can't act her way out of a wet paper bag. She's the weak link of the cast. It's a good thing she was killed off - for various reasons - and I liked that it was kind of a cop-out death. Duncan has to avoid his head being chopped off in every episode by some uber powerful immortal ... but humans don't live the same lives nor suffer the same fates. And the way that episode was set up was great. Duncan faces big evil, predictably wins, comes home, lets out a big sigh of relief, and then with 5 minutes left in the show his girlfriend gets randomly shot down outside their home. Didn't see that coming. I'm glad they didn't kill her off too early, so that it would be more meaningful, but she def had to go.

Bret's big into Pearl Jam and U2 from what I read years ago
-
Only if that includes: - the Hogpen match - the squash vs. Warrior at Mania XII - vs. Bob Holly at Summer Slam 95 - submitting to Bret on Raw prior to Mania XII - the Best of 5 Russo-esque gimmick gauntlet against Rock, Show, Kane, Taker, and Mankind - the dry humping of Kane's dead whore - and lots and lots of promos hyping the debut of Hunter Hearst Helmsley

There's little doubt in my mind that Austin would have become much bigger than he was in WCW had Hogan not arrived. Who was Flair originally supposed to work with at Starrcade 93 before Sid went all psycho with the scissors? Austin. The wheels were in motion to make him a main eventer. And eventhough the Starrcade bout fell through, Austin did dominate the U.S. title scene throughout 94 - fending off everyone from Ricky Steamboat to the Great Muta. Not too shabby.
