To clear up the confusion, Savage / Jake was at the January 92 MSG show - not the Dec 91 one.

I would think since Brock / Angle is already a given, then a Raw guy will get the major title push, win the Rumble, and beat the snot out of Triple H at Mania (oops, ranting). I think they would give the Rumble to the guy that needs more of a push to the title picture. A Booker T, RVD, or Edge as opposed to a Brock, Angle, or Show.

The Terminator series has so much potential and so many possibilities...I hope they don't blow it. Keep it dark, make sure the writing is there, and...wait, a woman is the bad guy? ...Oh well.

If anyone is being killed off, Slater should be first.

I'm def hitting Wal-Mart on the 7th inbetween classes. Yeah, that's right, my college starts back up on the 6th. Gotta love the short high school-like Christmas breaks...

Batman. Tim Burton made the franchise, then 3 & 4 killed it...at least temporarily. Michael Keaton made a great Batman. Rocky. Loved them all but V was lacking...and it's upsetting to this day how he ended up poor. Stallone's kid can't act his way out of a wet paper bag.

Honestly, I think they´re fine. There are 3 months till WrestleMania so anything can happen between now and then to make or break it; I think it´s a little early to declare it crap. My opinion: Keep Angle and Lesnar seperated for a while ... have Heyman convince Stephanie that Lesnar needs to earn his title shot so throw him some heel wrestlers (although Show is the only one that comes to mind that Lesnar hasn´t already killed) and maybe have those guys have mini feuds with Lesnar while Angle fends off Benoit or Edge Regardless of the buildup, it´s the payoff that counts and I don´t see this match sucking.

I'm still not sure what to think about Joyce. I know that the messages she and Giles send Buffy are mixed but is that to mean that one side is right and the other side is that of the First or is it all the First trying to confuse her. Maybe it's just me, but I'm leaning toward believing Joyce in "Conversations..." as opposed to her appearance the other night. Yeah, I'm over analyzing. I'll be in my corner of solitude if anyone needs me.

"Grrrrrrrrrufff!" - Drusilla *I mark out* I'm inclined to believe that Giles is dead (This Giles is no more!), but I don't think the First would go through all the trouble of stealing helpful books from the Council, bringing the slayers-in-training to Sunnydale, and helping Buffy and the Scoobies. If he is dead, then it's a good ghost Giles instead of the First. I loved how they showed the flashback of Giles finding the dead watcher and yet cut away before the axe attack. Wasn't the slayer-in-training that ran off hilarious? "Oh yeah, I'm so much better off running into a dark alley than I am surrounded by a slayer, a watcher, a witch, a demon, and a carpenter!" I did notice the Faith bomb. I have to believe that this season will also involve Angel at some point since the word "armageddon" is being thrown around a lot and we all know how big a player he's supposed to be in that.

I thought it was pretty good but was pretty slow (saw it last night and when I got out, it felt like it was already Thursday). *SPOILER* The ending was acceptable but I had my money on Picard being killed off instead of Data. And if you think about it, Data blowing up wasn't a big loss since they already have a second, less lively version onboard (think Data Season 1...actually, he looked like a retarded Tobey Maguire in some scenes).

I know he came back for a "TV title match" against Stevie Ray that summer. But you're probably right about the injury taking place at SuperBawl. Rey/Jericho and Raven/Benoit are both available on Kazaa for those who are interested. Uncensored wasn't too bad either with Raven/DDP/Benoit. The last WCW PPV of the mid 90s boom I would deem as all around enjoyable would be Slamboree 98 (DDP/Raven in a cage, Bret/Savage, cruiserweight battle royal won by Malenko dressed as Ciclope, Malenko/Jericho, Giant/Sting vs. Hall/Nash where Hall turns on his partner, even Goldberg/Saturn was pretty decent).

Undeclared The Critic Twin Peaks (old school but still awesome) Beavis & Butthead (damn you, King of the Hill ... damn you ... although that show is great too) The Clerks cartoon was okay but most of the jokes fell flat, IMO I'm glad NBC is putting stock into Scrubs; a few months ago, I thought it would be joining the ranks of these other shows.

I'm inclined to believe that the Giles that we'll see next week is the real one. Just from checking out the preview and the fact that he's bringing three slayers-in-training (don't you love the fact that to be a slayer you have to be a cute girl?), I don't think that the Big Bad would be so elaborate and subtle - especially since they already know of him and what he can do.

"The Action Zone" match was deemed Owen's last title shot, not their last match. The blowoff was the previously mentioned No Holds Barred match that main evented the last Raw before WrestleMania XI.

I need an Orb of Thessullah for Christmas. Anyone have one?

Best: Spider-Man, Signs Worst: Resident Evil, Men in Black II ... Scooby Doo would be up there but all the drug references saved the film ... Austin Powers 3 was dissapointing. And what movies had me saying "Uh....what just happened?" as the end credits rolled: Frailty, Reign of Fire

They did all have memories, even Giles. When he tries to tell Buffy that the only way out is to kill Dawn once the ceremony begins, he makes sure to mention the fact that he does truely love Dawn - but he has to say things and do things others can't (like kill Ben). Season 5 has to be seen all the way through to be fully appreciated, much like 2. They both slowly picked away at Buffy's safety net until there was nothing left (Angel turning bad, killing Ms. Calender, Kendra being killed, being expelled, killing Angel to Buffy's mom getting sick, Riley leaving, the experiences with the first slayer, Buffy's mom dying, being pitted against a god). I guess you could argue that Buffy did a cop-out in both finales, but the second was much more noble and they were both fantastic episodes IMO.

Wow, I'm gone for a few days and you guys fill up a good 3-4 pages of posts. Giles said something to the effect of this: Ben: She could have killed me... Giles: No, she couldn't have. And Glory will make her pay for that mercy. You see, she's a hero. She's not like you or I. Ben: You or I? ::dies:: Notes on last week's show: Great stuff ... I don't think the 'real Vampire' is the Master - I just think it's a vampire without any human in it (remember how the Mayor turned into a 'pure' demon in Graduation Day? Same thing) ... Without reading too much into it, I think the principal is good and moved Jonathan partially to bury him and partially to prevent his blood from opening up the seal (like what was done to Spike at the end) ... it took me until I re-watched 'Amends' on Thanksgiving morning (pre-marathon) for me to realize the ties to this season (big mark-out moment, even for it being 7am) - it's interesting that Buffy never even tried to fight the First in that episode, she just ran off to save Angel ... I'm still not sold on the Watchers being killed, that's basically the same cliffhanger Joss gave us the week before with Giles and I refuse to believe he's dead at this point Notes on the marathon: I voted for 'Amends', 'Passions', and 'The Gift' and only one made it? Blasphemy! 'Halloween' and 'Buffy vs. Dracula' didn't deserve to be up there. I had never seen 'Hush' but that has to be one of the best eps ever! Surprised so many eps from Season 4 were included, since that's generally regarded as the least entertaining year. Loved the Spike flashback episode. S P O I L E R I hear Faith is coming back to do Angel in February, then appearing on Buffy to close off the season ... interesting ...

I always liked the one in The Terminator.

I'll def go. I think the last Trek movie I saw in theaters was the Undiscovered Country (? ... the one in 91, 92 with the Klingons and assasinations). I've heard a spoiler about the film that makes it sound even more interesting.

There were also regular shows held at the LA Sports Arena that were televised as well. These shows took place every 4-6 weeks from what I can tell and were usually televised a day or two afterwards.
-
They were all televised, actually. The Toronto TV shows were dropped first (back in the mid 80s I believe), then the Spectrum, then Boston, and finally MSG (in 92). What's funny is that sometimes the CHV announce team was different from the announce team at ringside. During a Duggan / Slaughter flag match in March 91 at MSG, Heenan and Monsoon were ringside while on the CHV (2nd Annual Battle of the WWF Superstars) Mooney and Alfred Hayes redo it. It's hilarious because Mooney and Alfred try to play it off that Heenan and Monsoon are only there to do commentary for the Armed Forces Network before debating how much Heenan is getting paid to do the show (I lived in Germany for 6 years as a kid and all I watched was AFN; we never got random MSG wrestling shows).

Adrian Paul would work. He can get a sword and go around cutting off bad guy's heads saying "There can be only one". Immortals with swords are pimps.

I loathed the Power Rangers simply because it was a lame live-action bastardization of Voltron that wasn't near as entertaining.

I saw it when I was 15 and loved it ever since. The soundtrack is great too - since it has everything from Dean Martin to Fleetwood Mac to the Animals.
