If you check out Michels' shoot, he comes across as the guy that gave birth to Stone Cold by laying down in that match. I half expected Michaels to lose his smile and give up the title last night.

Because Randy writes back... Autoreply from [email protected] Dear Randy Orton Fan: Thank you for your well wishes as I recover from my shoulder injury. As you can see, life as a third generation superstar isn't always easy, but thanks to the unrelenting support of all you fans, I should be back in the ring in no time. Fortunately, just because my shoulder's injured doesn't mean the rest of my body is (if you know what I mean, ladies ) Anyway, I digress. Thanks again, Randy Orton

That show was crap. Flair winning the title was cool (esp since he bladed) but when the title was going from Savage to Flair to Savage to Flair every month, it didn't mean much. Hogan / Giant in a cage...buahahahahahahahahaha. I couldn't get ECW at the time but I remember seeing Pillman at random Nitros several weeks after the whole Bookerman incident and Bischoff would say something like "What? Why is that nut in here? Someone get him out of this arena!" Had me fooled.

Oh my god, I didn't remember this until I was reading this thread...but speaking of "fans" interfering - does anyone remember the guy that like jumped out of the crowd on Nitro in late 96 and gave Schiavone a video tape to play before security took him away. And afterwards, Schiavone was all "Give me a break ... fans, do yourselves a favor, don't try anything stupid when you come to the TV shows." It was some lame ass music video Piper did in the early 90s where he makes some slight comment about Hogan - therefore WCW could play off the fact that there was still some tension there and that hopefully people would care if they fought again. (off in the distance, Cartman says "Oh my god, you guys are so lame...")

He also fought Shamrock around that same time (not sure, but it may have been 6 days before Survivor Series). This was around the same time that Shamrock was getting a huge push. He fought Bret one week and made him tap (but the referee was knocked out), Michaels came out, a brawl ensued. Then Shamrock fought Michaels, made him tap (but the ref was knocked out), Bret came out, a brawl ensued.

JR's an idiot. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H for the Euro title in Dec. 97 ... Michaels lays down ... Hunter wins ... best match ever ... etc

There's nothing more pitiful than an Olympic Gold Medalist cursed with a soul.

I sure hope Sid doesn't regain the title tonight...that would suck.

I know the WWF had one major show in 86 down there - not sure if this is the same show that will be included on the DVD. The Rougeaus beat the Moondogs, Velvet McIntyre won the women's title off Moolah, Hogan defended the belt against Orndorff, and from the commercial of the DVD I think I saw Andre vs. Big John Studd.

I'll add some real country to the mix, since it was what I was raised on. "Ocean Front Property" by George Strait "I got some ocean front property in Arizona From my front porch you can see the sea I got some ocean front property in Arizona If you'll buy that, I'll throw the Golden Gate in free" For about the past 10 years, I thought the last line was "If you'll buy that, I'll blow the Golden Gate in three". Never understood why such a nice country singer from Texas would want to make terrorist threats...and why three pieces?

I've seen every episode of Buffy but only scattered Angel from this past year (clashed with Raw), so I'll def pick up Season 1.
-
I'm not huge on anime nor overly familiar with it so if my picks sound less than spectacular, that's why. Perfect Blue - Very Hitchcock Robotech - loved it as a kid, would be interested in eventually checking out the DVD collections Akira - a bit disturbing but def noteworthy

I was luke-warm to the TV show as a kid, mostly because it was so depressing. He just went town to town, was always by himself...but you gotta love the Walking Away music! Falling out of helicopter would never kill cartoon / comic book Hulk. Hulk smash helicopter, fall to ground, get up, brush himself off, then Hulk take nap before smashing more things.

Seeing an "injured" Bret Hart pin Bill Goldberg in Phoenix to not only win the WCW U.S. title but also advance in the world title tournament. I was one of about 10 people in the whole arena that was cheering for Bret; ended up losing my voice.

Went down to Wal-Mart this morning and picked up the 2-disc DVD, widescreen of course, for only $15 (much like Spider-Man). Here are some of the extras. From what I've seen, they're pretty damn good. - 8 deleted scenes with explanations / intros by Lucas, etc - Theatrical teasers and TV spots (why the teasers were SO good and the TV spots SO horrible is beyond me) - "Across the Stars" music video ('Across the Stars' is the name of the love theme but that's only part of the score included in the vid) - Comprehensive 12-part web documentary - "State of the Art: The Previsualization of Episode II" (basically discusses how they went from using models and cartoons for 4-6 and now they use digital technology to plan scenes in 1 and 2) According to the back of the DVD, it includes 6-hours of bonus material. Not bad for $15. Oh yeah, the film wasn't that bad either. I'd rate it up there with "Empire".

I hope not. They're just now making Dawn out to be a worthwhile character (flashbacks to last week's show in skimpy dress ... *drools*). Dawn needs to become a lot more powerful and prominent a character if / when that happens. She can't compete with Buffy as it is now.
-
I love how I started a thread on Episode II and it turned into a debate over whether widescreen or full screen is better lol

Foreshadowing to the season (series?) finale in November reeks of awesomeness! I loved the bit where Ghost Joyce tells Dawn that Buffy "when it's bad, she won't choose you". Creepy, well the entire show was creepy but the continuous warnings the Scoobies have recieved lately are really building this season up as something special. I'm sorry but if your mom died on your couch ... why keep the couch and use it every day? The scene with the black demon thing standing over obviously dead Joyce (with white contacts ... ewww) was uber scary. As far as Spike goes, perhaps he didn't get his soul back but rather had the chip removed (although looking at previous episodes this season doesn't favor that angle much). And it looks as thought the school is once again center to Sunnydale's problems (that funky circle design in the basement ... where Spike was for so long), although it's not clear as to how it ties in exactly - or why 2/3rds of the Triad came back for it. For Christmas, I want the ability to turn inside out into nothingness ... that's pretty cool. Actually, for a moment or so I thought dead high school chick was trying to turn Willow into a vengeance demon.

It was a UK poll, no wonder Queen and the Beatles dominated (not that they wouldn't have if it were done by anyone else). The voting seems a bit biased but it was a great song.

November 11, 1987 – Seattle is home to Saturday Night’s Main Event. In the match of the night, Randy Savage scores a win over Bret Hart, as payback for the attack he suffered against the Hart Foundation and the Honkytonk Man weeks prior. In the title bout of the night, King Kong Bundy defeated World Champion Hulk Hogan via count-out.

Def recommended. The Mankind / Rock "THIS IS YOUR LIFE" is on there, Jericho's debut, face Kane / heel Triple H vs. Rock / Mankind, Test / Bulldog in a cage, Kane killing the Phoenix Suns gorilla right before WrestleMania XIV, Triple H dressing up as Goldust and using a flame thrower on Kane right before WrestleMania XV, Triple H / X-Pac vs. Shane / Kane with the Euro title on the line, etc. The only thing I found upsetting was the lack of Owen Hart and the fact that several of the dates listed on the extra segments are WAY off.
-
Never happened as far as I know. Their only match was at the Boston Gardens in 86, I believe shortly before WrestleMania II.

Desert Storm was far from botched; it went flawlessly and we could have done more (like take Saddam out) had we been allowed to at the time. But our job was to free Kuwait and we did that, quite easily I might add. To call that a "war" is somewhat laughable. If it's true that Florida was so democratic then Jeb would have been killed instead of becoming the first Republican ever to be reelected. Bush won. The only reason there was a debate was because Gore couldn't handle defeat. Voters won't dump on a woman; I have more faith in the public than that. They would, however, dump on Hillary because she's a power-hungry devil bitch that finds it acceptable to run for senator in a state she doesn't even live in (yeah, I know she has a house there...whatever). Why did she win NY? There are stupid people everywhere, what can I say. I also have to give the American public more credit when it comes to Lieberman. The south is not anti-semetic. I'm indirectly from the south, my whole family is from the south, and in all the time I've been down there in my life I've never found it to be anti-semetic. Gore didn't lose the south because of his VP, he lost it because the Dems don't adequately represent these people. The people they do represent are tree huggers and Hollywood movie stars, and you won't find either in TN, KY, GA, AL, VA, or the Carolinas. If you take a look geographically as to what Gore won (population-wise), he did the best in big cities, the northeast, and the west coast. Bush got the south and midwest. We're not looking for Bin Laden, he's probably dead anyway. Bush didn't ruin the economy, he inherited it from Clinton/Gore (it started going down far before Bush came into power). And Saddam should have been killed 12 years ago. Maybe if Clinton could have kept his pants on, our country wouldn't have to be on the offensive like we are.
