  1. My dream involves Bret Hart driving a semi ... Shawn Michaels and Triple H strolling down the street holding hands ... and all of a sudden ... SPLAT!!!! Hunter should remember what Bret's wife said to him backstage in Montreal cause his karma is gonna fuck him up sooner or later...hopefully sooner. Actually, let me modify that dream a little ... the semi is driven by Bret, Chris Jericho, RVD, Bubba Ray, Edge, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, Kane, and Booker T.

Who here will watch No Mercy?

Kane gets the title shot? Rob Van Dam, the most over guy in either brand, gets all this heat behind him before going after Triple H ... then Flair turns and costs him the match ... and now all the heat is gone, RVD's working tag matches on Raw that don't mean crap, and Kane is the new top contender? I would consider watching if they kept the rivalry going but no, they have to stop RVD's title push right as it's starting and throw Kane in there instead. Blah, didn't the WWE learn from their crappy chain match a year and a half ago? The only guy I've seen that can have a GREAT match with Kane is Kurt Angle.
  3. Vader / Cactus didn't look rigged, since Vader and Race came out to the wheel in front of everyone and spun it but I could be wrong. The Texas Death match ruled, btw. One of WCW's best matches. Being that it's Raw, I think the biggest stipulation we'll get is a cage match to end the show. Look for the rest to be gravy bowl (or a slight variation), Kiss My Ass, Leather strap, and a tables match (guess who'll be in that one?). It should be interesting.

Manger who could wrestle the best.

    Gotta go with Mr. Fuji!

    Survivor Series 2002 upper card

I'd like to see a throw back to the classic Survivor Series tag elimination matches with the two world titles also at stake. - Triple H drops the Raw / IC title to RVD after Shawn Michaels interferes - Brock Lesnar controversially goes over Kurt Angle to retain the Smackdown! title, setting up a series of matches between the two over the following months Edge, Rey Mysterio Jr. (cruiserweight champ), Rikishi, Billy & Chuck vs. Jamie Knoble, Tajiri, Eddie & Chavo Guerrero, & Batista Kane, the Hurricane, Bubba Ray Dudley, Booker T, & Goldust vs. Rosie & Jamal (tag champs), Ric Flair, Chris Jericho, & Randy Orton
  6. Favorite match: Bret Hart vs. the British Bulldog from Summer Slam 92. I had just recently gotten into wrestling and those guys were my faves. Before I even knew what a good match looked like, they put on a classic bout full of drama and the atmosphere was at a fever pitch all the way through the 25-minute battle. The post-match make up and celebration with Diana Hart with the fireworks ... classic. Davey may have only been a transitional champ, but that has to be one of the greatest WWF/E moments ever. And despite what's been said about the match, I doubt any one person can pull off such a classic match with little or no help from the other individual. I think Davey was very underrated for his size - especially during this time.

    Worst WWE event ever?

It's worthless. It was obvious going in that neither man was going to come out on top and the way they put the tag gold on them a week or two before just to put more attention on the match was pathetic. Shawn Michaels even considered it garbage on his RF shoot. But then again, most of what came out of his mouth was a lie so who knows what he really thinks of it. The best work they ever did was during house shows after HBK lost the title to Sid.

    Worst PPV of all time.

WORST SHOW EVER...so bad I'm sure most have forgotten... Uncensored 95! - Duggan vs. Meng in a martial arts match - The return of the "Warrior" (or so WCW would have you believe - it was just the lame Renegade) - Arn Anderson vs. Johnny B. Badd in a wrestler vs. boxer fight - Dustin Rhodes vs. the Blacktop Bully in a pre-taped and heavily edited for blood "King of the Road" bout ... so bad that they both quit the company days afterwards - A giant food fight between the Nasty Boys and Harlem Heat where just about everyone is wearing ketchup at the end - A DQ finish to Savage / Shark on a pay-per-view claming to have no DQs - Ric Flair dressed as a woman - Hogan beats Vader in a leather strap match by ... beating Flair when Flair interferes This show was so bad that most of the mags at the time said that WrestleMania XI was awesome in comparison (and we all know how bad that show was).

    Worst WWE event ever?

Okay, without even looking at the year 1995 - the winner is... King of the Ring 97: Predictable KOTR winner (obvious 3 weeks before the show), mediocre world title match, worthless Austin/HBK match, with an okay 6-man tag.
  10. cawthon777

    WORST MAIN EVENT EVER~!

Diesel vs. Mabel is definately at the top of my list. Honorable mentions - either scheduled main event or last match on the show: Hogan vs. Beefcake (Starrcade 94) Piper vs. Lawler (KOTR 94) 50 guys against Hogan & Savage (Uncensored 96) LT vs. Bigelow (WrestleMania XI) The Undertaker vs. Sid (WrestleMania XIII...sorry, nothing can follow Bret/Austin)

    Nailz

LOL, thanks I needed a good laugh! "I'm gonna beat you within an inch of your life, Bossman! GRRRRR!"
  12. Last year I got an old Best of the WWF tape from when Piper had just turned face in 86 and ... believe it or not ... Vladimir is in the front row at MSG. Not only that, but Piper actually has him get on the ring apron and asks him who he should get as a tag partner against Paul Orndorff and Harley Race for the following month's show. ...And of course, the answer is "HULK HOGAN!!!!!" I've seen him at WrestleMania VIII, WrestleMania X, the Curtain Call, almost all the MSG shows from the late 80s and early 90s, and of course Survivor Series 96. Pink jacket guy was also at Summer Slam 95 if I remember correctly (or it may have been 96 considering No Mercy and the 96 show were both in Cleveland).
  13. I know you guys get generally screwed when it comes to live events and even some of the television shows, but you've had a pretty good deal when it comes to home videos. Here in the states, the only way to get any home videos before the WWF's buyout of Coliseum Home Video in December 97 is to search on eBay. IN YOUR HOUSE titles like GOOD FRIENDS...BETTER ENEMIES, MINDGAMES, COLD DAY IN HELL, AND DEGENERATION-X are so hard to find that they can easily get up to $75 on auction sites. Other titles like BATTLE ROYAL AT ALBERT HALL, UK RAMPAGE 91, and UK RAMPAGE 92 were never even released in NTSC format.

    4/21/97

It was a good Raw, I'll give you that much. I would go with the MSG show from that September as the best. Pillman/Owen and Ahmed/Rocky in the IC title tournament, the debut of Cactus as he beats Triple H, Bret/Goldust. A good ending as the Harts and DX brawl, with Davey Boy still selling the ankle injury sustained two days earlier at ONE NIGHT ONLY, with the Undertaker cleaning house. The show also included the first time Austin hit the Stunner on McMahon. After the show, Bret beat Taker and HBK in a triple threat match, which I would personally love to see as well. GREATEST RAW MOMENT NOMINEE: Yokozuna is taken from ringside in a forklift after suffering a leg injury at the hands of Vader

    The Genius

Wrestling-wise he was pretty good - especially by WWF standards. Aside from Owen Hart, he was the only guy in 1988 that could do a moonsault. However, he was a glorified jobber for most of his career in the WWF and would get squashed by all the faces. He was basically an 80s verion of Rico. He did wear the knight suit for a battle royal at the Boston Garden in January of 86, that Blackjack Mulligan eventually won. Before the Genius gimmick started, he was known as Leapin' Lanny Poffo and threw out frisbees. The Genius' main claim to fame was beating Hogan once on SNME via count-out after Mr. Perfect came ringside. During that time, he was Perfect's manager - which was a pretty good spot to have considering Perfect was the hottest thing going in late 89-early 90 and beat almost everyone.

    Nailz

I was 11 at the time and I remember Nailz used to foam at the mouth during his interviews - pretty freaky, even now. I have almost all the pre-96 pay-per-views (original home videos) but I don't have my comp set up to make a audio/video file.

    Wrestlemania 19

1964 might be a better year, and that way no one gets it confused with Big Brother.
  18. So I guess that would make RVD into Dusty Rhodes, Booker / Goldust into the Road Warriors, and Bubba Ray Dudley into Nikita Koloff. Oh god, the end is near!!!!!
  19. Angle has great super babyface potential but I'd rather see RVD vs. Brock for the title. They had a great series of bouts this summer with no clear winner before Brock won the title so there's already a foundation to the rivalry. However, I'd expect Rock to have some sort of main event spot. Maybe Rock vs. a belt-less Brock with RVD vs. Triple H for the Raw world title and Benoit vs. Angle for the Smackdown! world title.

    That was Breur, not Kattan.

    No Mercy 01 dvd

I could be wrong but I believe most if not all the WWF/E home videos are taped in EP. However, Coliseum Home Video was SP. I know the rereleased WrestleManias (98 version) are EP but that could have just been because of their longer running times. Just in general, it seems that the quality went down when they dropped CHV.

    best promo ever

All-time fave: Ric Flair post Royal Rumble 92. "When you walk around this world and you say you're number 1, the only way to stay number 1 is to be number 1! And the only ... title ... in the wrestling world that makes you number 1 is when you are the king of the WWF. And for all the Hogans and Pipers and Sids ... now it's Ric Flair and you all pay homage to the man! Whoooo!" (okay, maybe not word for word but it's still incredible to this day) Runners-up / honorable mentions: Rick Rude & Bobby Heenan at Summer Slam 90 where they compare the match with Warrior to Rocky ("And there ain't gonna be no rematch! *kiss*") Russo's shoot on Hogan (BATB 2000) Flair's return in 98 ("Abuse of power!") Arn Anderson's retirement speech in 97 The NWO's parody a week later DX's parody of the Nation in 98 ("I don't know what you're cooking, Crock ... smells like shit to me ... but I think I'll eat some anyway!") The Rock's "This is Your Life" from 99

    Best mention of Wrestling...

One of the better ones is from Natural Born Killers. Rodney Dangerfield is watching wrestling (Tatanka vs. some jobber from about 93) and is yelling for the jobber to kick the damn injin's ass (or something to that effect, probably with more obscenities). And there's always Big Daddy where the little kid tells the court that Adam Sandler tought him how to do the sleeper like Chief Jay Strongbow.

Last live event you went to

August 5th Raw from Baltimore (day after my 21st b-day). Wasn't that great other than the half hour brawl between Ric Flair and Triple H after the show went off the air. The security at the arena are assholes and wouldn't let me bring my nice camera inside because they were afraid I would sell the pictures or something. The whores! Other events: WWF House Show @ Landover, MD; Capital Centre - May 1, 1993 Great Mr. Perfect / Shawn Michaels draw headlined by Bret / Luger WWF House Show @ Landover, MD; Capital Centre - July 17, 1993 Bret / Yoko headlined by HBK / Perfect WCW Monday Nitro @ Phoenix, AZ; Ameria West Arena - October 25, 1999 The first night of the world title tournament that featured Benoit / Malenko (drools) and Bret Hart pins Goldberg for the U.S. title. There were only about 5 people in the arena cheering for Bret and I was leading the cause. WWF House Show @ Baltimore Arena - April 27, 2002 Angle / Edge headlined by Triple H / Jericho WWF House Show @ Washington DC; MCI Center; June 28, 2002 Flair / Lesnar headlined by Hogan / Taker
