This comes direct from the Sullivan Arena website. Randy Orton vs. Triple H vs. Batista The Big Show vs. JBL & Orlando Jordan (handicap) Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair Kurt Angle vs. John Cena (US strap) The Undertaker & Kane vs. Gene Snitsky & John Heidenreich Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak Lita vs. Trish Stratus (Women's title) Shelton Benjamin vs. Edge (IC) Plus a battle royal Obviously the line "card subject to change" applies, since Lita is going to be out for a while. I can only assume the 3-way is for the title. On the website, it did not indicate as to if the belt was at stake, just that it was a 3-way.

Fans did it all the time from 86-95 or so. The old Superstars / Challenge tapings often went past midnight. I'm not saying the crowds were big and I'm not saying people didn't leave during the show, I'm just saying it used to be the norm.

I was thinking it was "Right Now" by Van Halen. Crystal Pepsi rules!

I think Vince started to feel the heat during the first few months of 92. He was dealing with a lot of issues at the same time - both the sexual harrasment scandal and the steroid scandal. He appeared on Larry King Live with other guests Bruno Sammartino, Barry O, and perhaps someone else. Both topics were covered. It was pretty much everyone ganging up on Vince, and probably justifiably so. Look at some of the guys who were let go during this time - the Warlord, Hercules, Chris Walker (an enhancement guy on his way up; had a Warrior look). One could make an argument that they were useless at that point but the WWF is usually strong on pushing useless hosses. At the same time those guys were let go, Vince brought back Warrior and pushed Davey Boy Smith to the sky, giving him the match at Wembley. Davey was eventually let go in November after, IIRC, failing a drug test. Vince was indicted in the fall of 93. The trial "officially" began in probably the late spring of 94. It ended shortly before Summer Slam. Vince was off TV during the trial. I seem to remember a live studio Raw days before Summer Slam with Vince and Lawler in which a caller congratulated Vince on winning the case. I don't think the wrestling mags were covering it that much so I didn't have a clue as to what she was talking about.

That is weird. What's also weird is them announcing Skinner as undefeated during that show when he did a clean job to Bret on Prime Time about a month earlier.

I'm confused. Why is the answer to #1 only Kaz?

Which makes me think we're overdue for a TV compilation DVD, ala 2001's Action!

I've read / HEAVILY skimmed through these. Foley's first and Sex, Lies, & Headlocks are the best of the four. Foley's has more personality but Sex, Lies, & Headlocks is just full of interesting stories. There are some obvious inaccuracies in Sex, Lies though. Nothing over the top, just little stuff like saying this guy fought this guy at this event when they didn't. Piper's book is also good but I'm not sure how accurate it is. Piper loves his kayfabe. I've read a good bit of Gary Michael Cappetta's book as well. He autographed it for me back in August. Good stuff. Mostly 70s WWWF thus far. Talks about having Monsoon as his boss, Vince never liking him, being scared of George Steele during the ring intros, etc. The new road stories book looks interesting.

1) They all spent time in WCW. 2) Rockers / Towers 3) Hall & Sting 4) Blassie 5) Not that familiar with Hayabusa but I have seen J Cup 94 and he looked different. I'll go with the Rikidozen show. 6) I'll go with Tajiri 7) Mr. Hughes 8) the Warrior 9) I think you're referring to Capital Combat 90. Mark was subbing for Sid, who was injured, as part of the Skyscrapers. Spivey was the regular tag partner so it wasn't him. Enos. 10) WWF

The only problem I had with them is the constant stupid bickering between Savage and Heenan, with JR being the only one talking about the match.
-
We had that in 02 against Bubba and Spike.

Where's Dusty in that mix? Without him, we wouldn't have had those classic one-liners from the GAB 96 bathroom brawl

Thinking back, Corino worked a good number of dates for the WWF in 97. Maybe even back further under a different name. Interesting that they picked up Test and not him.

Interesting matches we've never seen/heard about
cawthon777 replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Yeah, it shouldn't be too hard to track down. -
I remember Georgiann over at 1Wrestling saying they had seperated not long after Sable came back in 03. Mero posted something on his website (or posting board?) promoting Sable's return at the Smackdown after WrestleMania 19 so it was after that.

And you would be correct in saying that. I don't want him to ever lose. But I didn't complain about it. He may be kept strong but I think this is a sign that he's no longer in the running for the title. At least not for a while.

imdb.com says that they're now seperated. Yes, she's on imdb. They also list her as a stuntwoman on Seabiscuit. ... Well that's just funny. http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0266258/

If we're talking cheap WWE DVDs, it should be worth noting that Amazon has some great deals from time to time if you check out the third party sellers. Last week I picked up Action and Rebellion 01 for $12 total. And that included s&h.

1. Sherri used to date Larry Zbyzsko. No clue as to when this was but a friend of mine went to a wrestling convention a few years back and both of them were there and briefly talked about it. I just found out a few days ago Sherri has a son in his late teens / early twenties. 2. Dustin and Terri split in late 97, around the same time they did on camera when Dustin became The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust. 3. The heat, to the best of my knowledge, doesn't even involve Debra. Austin had a problem with the way Jarrett referred to him on TV when Jarrett made his surprise return to Raw in October / November 97.

I saw both of those title changes with Wright, so they were televised. He won the title from Jericho, defended it at Road Wild, then lost it on Saturday Night (I think). Then Wright beat Dragon at the CotC, beat him again at Fall Brawl, then lost it to Disco on Nitro.

Dream Matches in the WWE (or wrestling in general)
cawthon777 replied to zyn081's topic in The WWE Folder
Before either of them made TV in 02, Brock and Orton had a number of dark matches in the WWE. I don't know how well the two would gel in the ring but I wouldn't mind seeing that match, assuming Brock returns in 05. -
Yep, that's the one. The Jericho / RVD match ... that's the night they traded the belt with RVD regaining the title in a cage. I can only assume both matches are included.
