  1. Hardly. Lita was so awful on Monday night that it was like a car crash you couldn't turn away from. Those screams were laughable. She serves no purpose whatsoever. ...At least Torrie looks good.
  2. Actually that was very over until they killed it off by bringing Kane back and having him single handedly destroy all the Un Americans.
  3. Because, much like Jericho, Kane can lose and still keep his heat. I don't know what they're going to do and neither does anyone else on this board ... so no one have a heart attack over this when it hasn't even been announced on TV. Now that that's been said, Benoit vs. Kane would be very watchable and would give Benoit a big rub by making the Kane tap to the Crossface.
  4. In my opinion it would be a waste of time. They got competant wrestlers that could be pushed a bit. They don't need another JBL. Certainly don't push him but Steiner could definately be used to put over the low card Smackdown faces.
  5. Because then you won't be able to relate to the other annoyingly critical posts on this board ...? Or were you being rhetorical?
  6. A little conspiracy theory there, huh? I don't mind. Gives Benoit another big win at a PPV.
  7. Keith has a book out? ...Wow.
  8. Well obviously I would prefer something to nothing but when you have the fans sit there for hours upon hours as the WWF caters to the home audience ... a 20 second world title match and 2-minute casket match doesn't quite cut it, IMO.
  9. Yep. I believe that was the deciding factor in Zbyszko going over at Starrcade ... or at least one of the factors.
  10. Sounds like bullshit. Because it is. Taping WCW's biggest pay-per-view of the year 2 months before it's supposed to air live? Yeah ... okay.
  11. It's a pretty tight shot but I didn't see any cameras at ringside.
  12. Bruno had a match on Bloodbath as well.
  13. Bobby, you're just desperate for heel heat tonight aren't you?
  14. Well, aren't you special. Thanks for more useless information, Graham. Dude, I'm going to kick you in the shin for that one.
  15. I know you'd know better than me, Cawthon, but I always thought that show was in Seattle. It was. I misspoke.
  16. For those wondering how good the "main event" matches at television tapings were, earlier today I obtained a fan cam of the July 22, 1996 Raw taping in Seattle, WA (the one where Farooq debuted and attacked Ahmed). Only a few of the matches are on the tape but many of those were the dark matches of the night. A run down ... Savio vs. Crush ... aired HBK vs. Owen ... aired 6 days prior to Summer Slam ... Vader attacks Shawn after the match The dark matches ... Immediately after HBK / Owen, there was this ... WWF World Champion Shawn Michaels (w/ Jose Lothario) pinned Vader (w/ Jim Cornette) with the superkick at the 21-second mark An exhausted Shawn runs back into the ring and lays waste to Vader in record time. In response to Farooq attacking Ahmed (this was after the battle royal had taken place, I believe), there was this ... WWF IC Champion Ahmed Johnson fought Farooq (w/ Sunny) to a double count-out at 1:08 when both men battled their way backstage And to close the show ... The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) defeated Mankind in a casket match at 2:20 after hitting a chokeslam and the tombstone I think the Mandible Claw and chokeslam were both used within the opening minute I timed the matches myself. It's really pathetic the lack of effort that went into them.
  17. This issue has been bothering me for a while. A few years ago I was reading a column written by one of the hosts of the LAW. In it, the author made mention of a Royal Rumble taking place prior to 1988 and Hamilton, Ontario. For years, ever since I began collecting results, I had been looking for more info regarding this. I heard stories about JYD winning one in St. Louis and Terry Funk being involved in one in Chicago. I e-mailed Dave Meltzer about it several minutes ago. He confirmed that JYD did win the St. Louis version and didn't indicate that there were any others. Using deductive reasoning, I'm guessing that this card took place at the tail end of 1986 or sometime in 1987 ... my St. Louis info from that time is lacking. So ... I was wondering if anyone out there could help me place a date on this historic event. ... It's times like these where I wish I had some Observers from the 80s ...
  18. I think at that point, WCW was so lacking in the way of plans that they hadn't even planned on where the following night's Nitro was going to be held. They needed a plant. Paid an indy guy a few bucks for the job. That was probably the extent of their plans for him in WCW.
  19. Hey, if it works ...
  20. 1. Probably one of the MSG rematches after Graham won the belt. I want. 2. Never saw the alley fight. I want. 3. Already have both title changes on The History of the IC Title. Can easily live without. Pedro wasn't that great in the ring. I want Muraco / Backlund. 4. Never saw any of the Jesse / Backlund matches. I want. 5. ...It's from WrestleMania 1 isn't it? Because according to the WWE, Studd never had another big match. Bleh. 6. I predict this is for the IC title and probably one of their MSG matches after Valentine won the belt. Maybe the cerfew draw. I want. 7. From WrestleMania III? Bleh. I dare them to go in the vault and dig out some quality Race stuff (WWWF / NWA title unification from Miami!) I'll definately get the DVD but this is such a teaser when it comes to the extra matches.
  21. Because the last one was so good </sarcasm> Embarrassingly rushed. Judgment Day 2002. Triple H vs. Jericho HIAC. It didn't close the PPV (though in retrospect, it should have considering the crappy Taker / Hogan match that did go on last). Maybe it's because I'm an optimist but I don't see any need to start bitching about who gets top billing when no matches have even been announced on TV as of yet.
  22. WWF @ Macon, GA - Coliseum - January 28, 1991 WWF Superstars taping: 2/16/91 - included the debut of Paul Bearer as he was introduced during the Brother Love Show as the Undertaker's new manager
  23. Think it had something to do with his insurance through Lloyds of London ... forget the specifics. But basically he wasn't able to wrestle.
  24. Happens all the time. All you need is a really evil bad guy to make it work. In this case it was Yoko. In Piper's case it was Adonis. In Savage's case it was Honky. In Hercules, Bossman, and Virgil's case it was Dibiase ... and so on. You hate the heel so much that you'll cheer the other guy twice as much, regardless of his past.
  25. It was a little more subtle than that. More like "Macho Man and the Warrior won't be coming to the ring together." Then 2 days later during Prime Time is when Perfect was asked to be Savage's new partner.
