    The Old School questions thread

And everything after BatB 2000. Actually I've seen commercial masters of BATB, New Blood Rising, Fall Brawl, and I believe even Halloween Havoc 2000 on eBay.

    The Old School questions thread

I've never heard an explanation. There were a handful of other PPVs that were never commercially released - Spring Stampede 98 and Souled Out 97 among them.

WWWF @ New York City, NY - Madison Square Garden - December 9, 1969 Victor Rivera & Tony Marino defeated WWWF International Tag Team Champions Prof. Toru Tanaka & Mitsu Arakawa to win the titles Sorry, I failed to mention that Tanaka & Arakawa were the tag champs at the time. For whatever reason, Pittsburgh kinda splintered off in regards to the tag division and didn't recognize Rivera & Marino as the title holders. It may have been that the head of the Pittsburgh office (still regional at the time) didn't feel those guys could draw as well at the Civic Arena when compared to the hometown boy Bruno and Battman (who was the top face under Bruno at the time in Pittsburgh).

I doubt it was legit. I believe they had the same finish in other matches at the time. George Takano was also known as Cobra in Stampede and the WWF (circa 84 or so). He briefly held the WWF Jr. Heavyweight Title after beating Black Tiger at MSG on 12/28/84.

I tried looking around to help you out a bit. I have Flair facing Jim Powers, Ron Cumberledge, and Glen Ruth several times at TV tapings - but this is over the course of both 1991 and 92. I didn't see anything that clearly matched up with what you said but it could be I'm just missing info.

    Some interesting questions

Chuck Austin.... but I thought it was Shawn and it was his back that was broken. Maybe I'm wrong. Wrestlers getting beat by their own signature

Piper beat Adonis with the sleeper at Wrestlemania III Tito beat Valentine in a tag match in Toronto with the figure-4 Hogan beat Slaughter numerous times with the Camel Clutch post-WrestleMania VII ... Gen. Adnan would always throw in the towel to end the match before Slaughter offically submitted Davey Boy pinned the Warlord with the running powerslam at WrestleMania VII ... Warlord was still using that, along with the full nelson, as his finisher at the time

    The Old School questions thread

Neidhart was semi-retired and Bret was one of the hottest singles stars at the time. To involve Bret would kill his heat. It was better to have Neidhart bring in a new talent (Owen) and help him get over.

    The Old School questions thread

    1. Might have been on the Brother Love Show 2. Sherri appeared on the Funeral Parlour to say that her "Teddy Bear" was letting her go because she was in love with HBK and Dibiase wanted her to be happy ... she made him sound like a father figure, IIRC 3. Pretty sure it was the tag title match against LOD on Superstars 5. Late 1991, right before the Survivor Series. He was brought in to help Jim Neidhart gain revenge on the Beverly Brothers.

    When did the WWF...

I'm not so sure I would use that as a reference book. There are more than a few factual inaccuracies that even a more casual fan could point out.

    Some interesting questions

Just to turn around and lose it to Beefcake at Summer Slam? That's not much of a career boost. I gotta say - had Beefcake not gone out with the injury, 1990 would not have been that great of a year for Perfect.
  24. cawthon777

    When did the WWF...

I've heard that the Snuka/Backlund cage match from MSG was televised on USA so that would date it back to at least June 1982.

    Today In WWE History

Jericho lost to Austin clean on the Raw prior, in a non-title match ... then on SD, he tapped to Rock's Sharpshooter in the tag match. I'm confused though. I already posted this in the first "Today in WWE History" thread of the day. Now we get two?
