Cow Palace, HBK/Brawler, the Corporate Champion

Pretty sure I timed that show myself. They might have had the 15-minute rule in place for the opening round but obviously no one was paying attention if that's the case.

    Your Survivor Series 2003 Predictions

I'd like to see someone on Austin's team turn. It would be a great way to revamp RVD's image or build up an HBK / Austin WrestleMania match (hey, just throwing out ideas). After all, the WWE has been asking for weeks now as to if Austin can trust his team. I say no. Kane, Tajiri, Lita, Angle's Team (with a great come-from-behind win), Goldberg, and Vince all win their matches.

    Question about old RAW's...

Prior to the ECW Raw in 97, the last Manhattan Center show was September 13, 1993 - when the Quebecars won the tag straps off the Steiners. They taped two weeks that night and when Raw returned live on the 27th, it originated from New Haven, CT. That was the taping where Razor won his first IC title.

Servivor Series: Goldberg Vs Triple H

Goldberg wins and goes on to feud with Kane once Kane rips Shane's head off and regains his monster heat. At least logic would dictate that. Who knows what we'll get.

    Dungeon of DOOOOOOOOOM question

Anyone remember who Sullivan's boss was in the DoD? He was around in 95 and looked all frosty - talked loud and gave lots of orders. I know he was a former wrestler, and very famous at that, but I forgot the name.

    The 1994/5 Fan Friendly Tour

He looked more like Mr. Ranger from the Yogi Bear cartoons. I think on the same tape, some local female DJ comes to the ring with Bret for his match with Owen.

    Bret/Savage, Rude on Nitro/Raw, Triple H/Booker

It's been so long since I've seen the show that I don't remember - that's why I don't have much in the way of finishes. I think that was before Duggan and Andre started feuding though.
  17. cawthon777

    Forgotten free TV classics?

It was during the buildup to SuperBrawl IV with Vader and Flair in the cage. Vader was targetting Steamboat since he and Flair were close. From what I remember, it was Vader kicking the crap out of Steamboat for the majority of the match with the Dragon coming back with last ditch efforts as he was so known for doing (gets punched ... gets punched again ... throws a chop in return ... etc). Could be wrong but I think Flair did a run-in to get Steamboat DQ'ed (?).
  18. cawthon777

    Anyone actually enjoy RAW?

I saw several good points to the show. I liked the team interaction, both by Austin's and Bischoff's. RVD / Christian was a solid opener and I enjoyed the fact that all of the bouts were interference-free save for the main event. Shane / Kane was retarded but at least it was kept to a minimum. That's all I can ask for anyway.
  19. cawthon777

    Forgotten free TV classics?

I believe that was against Chris Benoit during the WCW US Title Tournament in late 96. Regal got busted open and Bischoff wanted a wide shot, that's all.

    Hogan/Piper, Warrior/Andre, Flair/Piper

They turned face during the spring of 84, I believe. What forshadowed their turn was, in a tag match against Slaughter and Terry Gibbs (maybe?) Gibbs suffered an injury and the Samoans helped him to the back. Not too long after that, they began facing Fuji & Tiger Chung Lee and had a long running series of matches against Murdoch & Adonis for the belts. I'll have to check on the Crush / Virgil match. It may have been a redone finish but then again I may have just listed it twice and not realized it.

    Updated Flair DVD specs

The Funeral Parlor had Hogan on as a guest and then Flair interrupts ... and while Hogan is distracted, the Undertaker comes out of the standing coffin and nails Hogan with the urn. Then Savage and Piper run down with chairs. Vince was knocked out during the Flair / Piper confrontation a few weeks earlier, as Flair was making his way to the ring for his first match (which is also on the DVD from what I see).

    Hogan/Piper, Warrior/Andre, Flair/Piper

One of many. This was during the period when Warrior was regularly picking up wins in under a minute following a few clotheslines and a splash.

    "The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection"

The match pitted a monster who had destroyed everyone from Sting to Ron Simmons to Nikita Koloff to Cactus Jack ... against a man who was on the verge of turning 45 and was in career limbo. For Vader not to kill Flair for the majority of the match would have only made Vader look bad. I'm not a big fan of the star ratings but I recently got a few years' worth of Observers and Meltzer gave it much love, though I don't recall the specifics offhand. I would say it was Vader's best match in WCW - Flair sold the champion's offense (including the superplex) like it was the airplane crash all over again. If I were Flair, I would certainly want it on the DVD for the historic against-all-odds comeback in front of the hometown crowd ... bloody mouth and all.

    Forgotten free TV classics?

Savage was in Hogan's corner. Sting had the Scorpion on Hogan and he was screaming in pain ... Savage was cheering him on but it was obvious Hogan was about to tap ... Then comes the Dungeon of Doom clusterfuck brawl to mess up everything!
