    Forgotten free TV classics?

That was when Sting was still multi-colored and Hogan had starting wearing black and white for the first time (his Pre-nWo Black and White time) right? Yeah, that was the Nitro right before World War 3 (11/20/96, I believe). It went opposite Shawn's collapse on Raw.

    Forgotten free TV classics?

Sid came back at that show, right? I don't know what was up with Sid in 97. I remember at the April IYH, he was supposed to fight Bret ... and was subbed with Austin. Then at the May IYH he was supposed to fight Mankind ... and was subbed with Rocky. I think around July he was in a car wreck with Furnas and LaFon ... so that meant his Summer Slam match with Vader was off. And that was it for him in the WWF if memory serves. Just as a note on that flag match, 7/21/97 in Halifax, Nova Scotia - 2 weeks before Summer Slam.

Timothy Well and Steven Dunn (also known as Steve Doll in WCW and, I believe, SMW).

    Backlund/Race, Wrestling Classic, SkyDome

I've done a little looking around since last night and came across several more instances of top names working Memphis instead of the Raw tapings. The day after WrestleMania XI, Razor Ramon won the USWA title off of Bill Dundee in Memphis and, the day after the 95 KOTR, the Undertaker & Dundee teamed up to beat Tommy Rich & Jim Harris in a bodybag match.

    Backlund/Race, Wrestling Classic, SkyDome

At the time, they were hyping the Taker / Yoko casket match at Survivor Series - and Yoko wasn't working too many tapings himself leading up to the PPV. I'm thinking Vince thought they would be fine by just airing the weekly vignettes of Taker and Yoko along with mentioning Chuck Norris' involvement. They were basically just living off the Rumble match to get people interested in this one. I just got a ton of old Observers and it seems as though the USWA shows were often held on Monday night so there was usually at least one WWF guy working in TN instead of the tapings - whether it be Luger, Adam Bomb, Men on a Mission, Tatanka, Crush, or Taker.

    Savage/Bravo (Montreal), Rockers, Super Tuesday

I have Dino going over via count-out on 8/28 ... then on 10/9 the two fought in a No Count-out match and it ended up being a double DQ ... then this was the final of the three. The next month, Bravo was back on the card and beat Jim Duggan. I guess it just surprised me how Dino got away without getting pinned in the blowoff. I guess that says something for his popularity in Montreal - or his backstage power, one of the two.

    Rebellion 2003?

One Night Only had the European Title change, plus the cool Owen/Vader and Bret/Taker matches. And yes, UK PPV's regularly sucked since 99. I won't miss them. I can't remember where or when, but Steve Regal dropped the Euro title to Crash in England. And Davey Boy beat Crash for the Hardcore title in an impromptu match.
  24. cawthon777

    Rebellion 2003?

I would think it would have to do with the time zone difference. Summer Slam 92 was shown with a two-day delay but back then you didn't have the Internet giving out the results 5 minutes after the show. If they were to do something like that today - they would either have to do a time delay or be forced to air a PPV at noon west coast time. The money just wouldn't be there.
