Wrestlemania 22...possibly one of the worse Wrestlemania's ever???
cawthon777 replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in The WWE Folder
I say they have Cena vs. HHH mid-way through WrestleMania. Cena wins but gets his ass kicked ... Edge comes out after the match and demands an immediate title shot. Edge leaves with the belt. -
extremefanz, with all due respect ... I think it was a great idea but could have been a lot stronger than it was. I received a copy of the “Extremely Crazy Wrestling Fans” DVD earlier today. Thankfully I didn’t pay for it. And if I had to pick the best line from the DVD, it would be this: “I wouldn’t invite any of these people over for dinner and, quite frankly, I’m surprised I’d spend 3 hours in a smoky arena with them.” Now don’t get me wrong, I love wrestling fans. We all share a common bond and love for the show. But a good portion of fans featured on the DVD are the most stereotypical and obnoxious fans I can imagine. If every time you’re in front of a video camera you cut a promo … you might be an obnoxious wrestling fan. And that’s what most of these guys do. As some background, all the fan footage appears to have been shot outside Viking Hall just prior to and just after the ECW Hardcore Homecoming event last June. Because of that, this DVD is largely just an hour long commercial for THAT DVD. What I did enjoy were the stories told by the fans of previous ECW shows they attended. Seeing The Night the Line was Crossed … RVD / Jerry Lynn … Shane Douglas / Bam Bam Bigelow … Sandman / Sabu … etc. I enjoyed the stories of traveling for hours to stand outside the former ECW Arena. One guy said he went to ever ECW show at the venue. That stuff was cool. But the DVD ultimately fails because it only captures ONE wrestling fan demographic. Namely, the group that enjoys blood squirting out of a body like a Super Soaker. Whoever edited the DVD did a horrible job. It’s clear they didn’t have enough footage from that one afternoon / evening because a lot of the same fan clips are shown multiple times. If I tried pulling that stunt in my college broadcast journalism class … well, I’d fail. To compensate for the lack of actual fan footage, lengthy clips from the “extra” matches are shown. These include New Jack vs. Balls Mahoney and Raven vs. Shane Douglas from your average ECW-lite Indy show. So is the DVD worth seeing? Sure. It’s a fun little DVD with some nice stories. But does it fully capture the ECW fanbase? I don’t think so. … At least I hope not. I realize the goal of the project was to talk to ECW fans but they needed to vary their locations and vary the types of fans they featured. Spending an afternoon outside Viking Hall … well, you’re going to get the same answers to a lot of questions. To make the DVD worthwhile, it would have been a good idea to go on the road with the Hardcore Homecoming house show circuit. At least then you get a wider base of fans and perspectives. Or at least go to the MANY wrestling conventions held around the country each year, many of which are in the Tri-State area. I think it was a great idea in theory but poorly executed. It comes off as a rush job when something like this could easily – if done correctly – be as long and enjoyable as your top shoot videos.

There were a few misunderstandings leading into WrestleMania 3 involving Beefcake. So the break wasn't completely out of the blue. But yeah, it was just to facilitate his face turn later in the show.

*Has a flashback to those WWE "I was there" live event commercials in 2002 (ex: "I was there when 70,000 fans packed the Skydome for WrestleMania X8.") "I was there when the crying wrestling fan made his debut at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium."

He was late all the time, and because he was on a last chance deal he got fired. It also didn't help that nobody likes him. He's just a complete prick. Wasn't this because he got caught at the Canadian border with some illegal drugs? You know the ones he was "holding for a friend" *wink*wink* That's why he was fired in 2001, not 04.

Actually Brunzell was on Warrior's team. The Killer Bees wrestled their last match in September before splitting and working singles (which meant doing jobs for Terry Taylor, Curt Hennig, and the like). On a side note, Blair was a substitute for the Junkyard Dog and Brunzell was a sub for Don Muraco. JYD and Muraco were both fired in October for their behavior during a tour of Europe.

This is a variation on the one that first popped up a few weeks back, simply the PPV logo on a Roman coliseum backdrop. Stephanie looks like a demon in that photo.

Because that's not stalkerish at all. Yeah ... I'm the only one that does this... -
How hard to find is an original copy of this show? I only ask because Amazon has no DVD copies and - last I checked - only one VHS (which I ordered yesterday).

Their new RF shoot. A poster on The History of WWE message board uploaded this for our own personal enjoyment Dec. 29. Between then and now it's received 68,000 hits. Today it got plugs on both PWInsider and the Observer website.

Charlotte / Greenville Tapings (Jan 23 and 24)
cawthon777 replied to cawthon777's topic in The WWE Folder
Downhome and Haws bah gawd - I've got both days off of work so if you guys want to meet up - that's cool. Just drop me a note. Charlotte is 40 miles one way, Greenville is about the same in the opposite direction. What I'd like to do is get to the arena early enough to meet talent as they're coming in. Either that or find out what hotel they're using. -
Today was "Spend your Best Buy gift cards" day. - The WrestleMania 1-21 DVD set - Rob Van Dam: One of a Kind - The Eddie Guerrero Story - News Radio: Season 1

Thanks for that, I appreciate it.

Kennedy worked dark matches, Jakked, Velocity, etc. off and on for several years. I would say back to at least 2002. A quote from his old website: Kamikaze Ken is currently enjoying wrestling in the midwest independent circuit and has been contacted several times by the WWE. He has appeared on Smackdown as an extra, twice on Jakked. Once against Essa Rios, and again with Skullkrusher vs Chuck Palumbo and Billy Gunn. He has also had a dark match against Scot Vick. (formerly Sick Boy from WCW). http://www.geocities.com/kamikazekenanderson/

Here's a pretty good Taker "My Sacrifice" video. While there are plenty of quality fan made clips, I'm just sticking with stuff that aired on TV. xhttp://s60.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=21OFBF29ZI0GA0NUQXAI8PJU8R

Forgive me if this has already been posted (I searched and couldn't find anything). I haven't heard anything about this but saw it on Amazon earlier today along with a pretty lengthy excerpt about his car crash in 1998. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/074349353...glance&n=283155
