    WWE Raw houseshow results 10-4-03

The better question might be why is Shane working house shows?

    FleetCenter Question

The WWF's first show at the FleetCenter was 10/5/95 but the next show held in Boston - according to my records - wasn't until August 1997. And even then, there were only 2 WWF cards held that year total. I remember there being a WCW Monday Nitro held in June 97 (with the Malenko/Jarrett US title change) but is there any reason for there being no other wrestling cards held in Boston over the course of almost 2 years?

    FleetCenter Question

Not in Mass. During the same time, the WWF was doing regular stops to Worcester and the other wrestling towns in the ME/MA area. The only area I could think of along those likes in the US would be Oregon.

    House Show Changes?

Well there's a difference between one guy failing to show and EVERYONE advertised not appearing. With the brand as it stands today, if they decided not to run a Raw show at a particular arena - they would cancell it rather than substitute it with Smackdown. At least that has been the case thus far.

Battle Royal @ Royal Albert Hall

Lord Alfred worked in the AWA prior to joining the WWF in 84. I believe he had a feud with Bobby Heenan during that time. He has even shown up in a few of the Maple Leaf Garden cards I have posted from before the arena became WWF exclusive. He co-hosted a ton of the old CHV compilation tapes like 'World Tour', 'SuperTape', etc ... did commentary for Prime Time matches ... even did the "promotional consideration paid for by the following" soundbite for the syndies - which ran until about 96. I heard he was at last year's pre-WrestleMania fan fest, but is now restrained to a wheelchair. I think he and Vince have a good relationship - he seemed very grateful that he was invited to Access.

The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection DVD Cover...

It wasn't so much of a run rather than just having a few matches at MSG back when the WWWF was still a regional organization. Vince Sr. often brought in top talent from other promotions to work MSG - Piper, Verne Gagne, Race, etc.

is that accurate dating? if it is man what a plane ride just to do a double header It's doable, especially if the first contest took place prior to intermission and thus allowed Hogan and Orndorff to leave early.

Battle Royal @ Royal Albert Hall

Hogan was a top tier midcard guy that only lost to Andre on a regular basis. Sometimes adding results means I only get pieces at a time and have to add to them when I can. That's all I've come across at this point.

    Angle/Lesnar and Gene Okerlund

I was in attendance for the Angle / Lesnar house show match in Roanoke several weeks ago that went 40-minutes + and had an article published in my college paper today detailing the contest and background of both individuals. It might give more of an insight to the bout for those interested: http://www.thetartan.com/vnews/display.v/A...0/3f79c1f4c939d The article was given a full-page treatment in the sports section and appeared opposite an editorial bashing ‘stupid sports’. Guess which ‘stupid sport’ got the most attention in the piece? Also, in the same edition of the Radford University Tartan there was an ad promoting a special appearance by ‘Mean Gene’ Okerlund. One of the local eateries on campus includes a Mene Gene’s Burgers and he will be on hand next Tuesday (10/7) from 3-5pm to sign autographs. I'm thinking I'll request him to mention his mother-in-law in whatever he signs for me. Radford, VA is located a half-hour south of Roanoke for those interested in attending.

Back when RVD was a world title threat...

I was going more for the guy that made the rest of the roster look bad via his suicidal offense ... and the guy that picked up pinfall victories over Taker, Kane, Angle, Rock, and Austin.

The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection DVD Cover...

Hell, even if the emphasis is on his early 90s WWF run - that will be enough for me. There was a ton of great stuff from that time period - aside from the obvious picks - that would fit on the DVD. - Flair's 1st WWF TV appearance as part of Prime Time Wrestling - the Flair / Piper brawl prior to what would have been Flair's WWF wrestling debut - Flair vs ... Bret from Saskatoon ???
