    9/30 in the W/WWF/E

I'm almost certain Bad News had left the company by this time so Akeem was brought in to replace him against Jake. I had heard the same story about Vince bringing him in to face Hogan at WrestleMania IV and failing not only to do that but to provide him with any kind of push outside of the house show rivalry with Savage during his first title run. I believe it was from his interview on the LAW a few years back.

    The Old School questions thread

Nailz lost the blow off match to Bossman but was still promoted as a monster heel. Actually, if you watch Survivor Series - Bossman's win is almost presented as a fluke as Nailz dominated the match and only lost because he sustained the sidewalk slam. He certainly didn't spend much time on the mat after the pin as he no-sold the move pretty quickly. I remember the confrontation Taker and Nailz had during an episode of WWF Superstars. Maybe it was just because I was an 11 year old ubermark, but I saw potential there.

JR & Austin on Byte This

Hogan didn't show because he was on the verge of singing with WCW, or at least appearing on WCW Saturday Night in those interview segments with Gene Okerlund. There were more than a few older generation WWF stars on hand at WrestleMania X, as I suspect there will be several more on hand at XX. I wouldn't count Hogan off the card - or at least off the PPV - until closer to time. At this point, everything is up in the air.
  8. That was confirmed as a wish list and by no means legit.

Yikes. That's quite the interesting result. Dusty getting a win over the WWWF champ, in MSG, is quite different. Even by count-out. Dusty and Superstar had a series of classic battles for the title, a few of which took place at MSG. He was in the WWWF for quite a while in the late 70s / early 80s. Remember, this was back when stars could easily work several regions at the same time. Count-out, DQ, draws, etc in title matches was just a way to set up the eventual stipulation blow off. This was no different.

  19. There must have been some sort of glitch at Ticketmaster for it to display nothing available at 9:00 am. I tried twice with no success ... then finally, after a turretts-like tirade of every cuss word known to man and with a threat to toss my computer right out the balcony door, it finally worked on the third try. I agree that posting the pre-sale password at WWE.com was a slap to the hardcore fans. I ended up using the Ticketmaster password (BAWWE) after I didn't have any luck with the other one. It worked ... but I ended up paying about $15 per ticket for service fees associated with that password.

    MPEGs from Roanoke House Show

A few weeks ago when I saw the Angle / Lesnar 40-min match in Roanoke, a friend of mine brought his digital camera with and ended up getting a few video clips shot during the show. Unfortunately, the batteries died before the main event - and the clips themselves are only about 30 seconds to a minute apiece - but he did get some quality stuff and I thought you guys might be interested. - The opening moments of the Benoit / Guerrero / Cena US title match (11.5mb) - Sable's promo before the bikini contest (20mb) ... we're both heckling her during the bit - Dawn Marie in the bikini contest (10.8mb) - Torrie Wilson in the bikini contest (7.85mb) I don't have enough space on my website to post them and I don't know of anywhere else I could upload them for free, so how about we do it this way. My AOL IM SN is cawthon777. If you see me on, just ask and I'd be happy to send at least 1 file to you. Now I can't do this for EVERYONE so if you've downloaded something from me I'd appreciate it if you could send it to others who are looking. Maybe put them on Kazaa or another file-sharing service.
