It had to be a setup for the bikini contest. I heard there was a headlock applied for a good 10-15 minutes and the crowd was on the verge of a riot. We all know that Tajiri and Rhyno are capable of much more. I think it was just a way to get more heat on the girls.

So I've been catching up, and I gotta say...

Goldberg vs Lance Storm = 1:06 according to Keith Maybe but that match was INTENDED to be short and have Goldberg dominate. If he couldn't get by Storm, who was portrayed as a stepping stone, in quick fashion then his character would be in worse shape now than it - arguably - already is. It's not like Goldberg is squashing top midcard stars week after week like he did in WCW. -
I remember Shawn wanted all members of the Hart Foundation handcuffed to each ring post at ringside - which would have made the finish even that more obvious.
-
Owen wasn't in WCW long enough to have a tag team partner, especially not Pillman who was feuding with the Horsemen at the time. IF that happened, it was in Stampede.

When was the last time Goldberg had a 45 second match? 2000? -
He was only there for a few months. I believe he did a stint in Japan after his WWF run and then went to WCW - could be wrong. Showed up back in the WWF around November.

Backbreaker submission hold, ala Luger's Torture Rack.

I'm going to assume someone no-showed. I was going to say Bret, since he was getting shots almost exclusively at the time, but he was matched up with Borga so no clue. Now that I think about it ... the Undertaker isn't on the card and there is no real reason to put Hughes & Gonzalez on a house show without Taker. So he no-showed the tag match and either Perfect or Savage was bumped out of their title match with Yoko. I'm going to guess Savage was supposed to be in the tag match since he had been facing Gonzalez at house shows at that time.

What is your favorite WWE PPV theme of 2002?
cawthon777 replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
'Cocky'. I don't know how many they had in 2001 but 'Control' from the Survivor Series would be my pick. -
That was one of the most boring matches of my life and besides it was 16 minutes. I was hoping you would like my picks; I require acceptance from others. </sarcasm> If it's 16 then CHV trimmed it down.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I think it's from 95 due to all the OJ references and the fact the 49ers had just won the SuperBowl (the show was taped in San Fransicso).

I have a new auction up for Even More Unusual Matches (1987). Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3345758606

I thought you guys might be interested in this... A friend of mine is helping me sell a lot of my master tapes via eBay. I have probably over 100 that I'll eventually put up but right now it's Best of the WWF Vol. 15 (with the clamshell case). Matches include but are not limited to: Fujinami vs. Ted Adams, Hart Foundation vs. Strike Force (title change), Sensational Sherri vs. Fabulous Moolah (title change), Jumping Bomb Angels vs. Glamour Girls (title change), Bam Bam vs. Bundy, Tito vs. Haku, and Demolition vs. Steele & Haynes (w/ Patera in their corner). The link is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...gory=41664&rd=1 The starting price is only $5. Remember, there will be lots more coming so check back often.

Here's a first. Look who's working house shows... WWE (Raw) @ Moncton, New Brunswick - Coliseum - October 5, 2003 (matinee) Shane McMahon vs. Kane (streetfight)
-
If the WWE plans on having Triple H vs. Jerry Lawler on a pay-per-view, we've got bigger problems than Triple H squashing Lawler in return for a job at a house show.
-
I've posted as many upcoming cards as I've been able to find but the Nassau lineup wasn't featured on its website - that's the best place to look for them.
-
Wow, that was so surreal that I can actually see it happening. Two thumbs up. And yes, I would watch.
-
I wish to be Glen Humplick

I know this is a little off topic, but Booker T is still being advertised for Raw house shows. I'm sure he'll be replaced by Val Venis or Maven, since they seem to be getting a few shots in the coming weeks, but I find it odd that no updates have been made to these cards in the past month. 8/31 vs. Christian (Biloxi) 9/5 vs. Chrsitian - Best 2 out of 3 falls (Tallahassee) 9/6 vs. Chrsitian - Best 2 out of 3 falls (Savannah)
-
The upcoming show in Roanoke - which I posted the lineup for a while back - has Matt, Shannon, & Zach going up against the FBI.
-
It's not reporting, it's a prediction. Okay, so he's not Nostradomous - big deal.
-
Watch the tape - Perfect is visibly already in pain before Bret even turns him over ... it just escalates once he does have him in position - which is why Perfect submits so quickly.

Starrcade 89. Flair at his peak, Sting on the verge of his. Face vs. face and ally vs. ally. The Clash unification was just a way to write-off Sting and put Hogan in his place. World War 3 was good but by then the two had fought so many times that the audience could plan the entire match out before the bell. Clash 1 is long ... and the finish is quality ... but if that's the BEST match the two have had, I'm not sure if that's a compliment or not.

I give the nod to WrestleMania. I loathed the KOTR meeting, not for the match itself but because it meant absolutely nothing ... it wasn't a match I wanted to see and I could see the finish coming a mile away (a finish which in fact made the bout worthless). Austin vs. Pillman and Bret vs. HBK would have made the show better. I've seen better matches between the two. Any of their early 97 work, with HBK as face and Austin as heel, could outdo both PPV fights.
