    Best 10 minute match ever?!

Hakushi vs. 1-2-3 Kid SummerSlam 95 ... personally, I like it more than the ladder match Chris Benoit vs. Kevin Sullivan Great American Bash 96 ... need I say more? The Legion of Doom vs. Money Inc SummerSlam 92 ... fun match for the 6 months of buildup and the outdoor atmosphere ... LOD driving the bikes to the ring was a nice touch
  2. I was looking through a tape site yesterday and came across one video of WWF TV from early 1987 and included was an interview segment with Andre from London. Is it possible he was still shooting the film at that time? I can't think of any other reason he would be overseas.
  3. Okay. I personally loved it but others have differing opinions - so more power to you. From a wrestling standpoint, I prefered this over WrestleMania XIII. From a historical perspective, I give the nod to Mania.

    Survivor Series '03

I think they've been pulling that storyline since December - can ANYONE beat Triple H?

    Survivor Series '03

I'm not saying this in defense of Goldberg - but did anyone loathe D-Lo after he paralyzed Droz?

    Survivor Series '03

Triple H vs. Foley is a money match or just one more obvious sign that the WWE is grasping for straws? Bill Goldberg vs. Kane - With 2 months of buildup, this could be a very well-anticipated match. The rivalry could easily be stretched out until Royal Rumble. Kane killing Shane at Unforgiven should be all he needs to become the top threat to the title. Kurt Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero - Seems like the logical pick (which means it's probably not going to happen). If the WWE wants to go that route, they need to put a lot more emphasis on Eddie in the coming weeks. As it stands now, he's top talent but not percieved as main event material.

    Dates?

Always wondered that myself. I don't think it was due to time since WrestleMania routinely went over 3 hours in its first few years. Bigelow was in Vegas - they included a clip of him at the end of the CHV. Maybe Kamala missed his flight or something along those lines. I saw them wrestle about a month later when the WWF brought the match to the house show circuit. It always had the same finish ... Kamala squashes Bigelow ... covers him the wrong way ... the crowd tells him to roll Bigelow over ... he rolls him over so that he's face down again ... the ref won't count and Kamala gets up to ask why ... Bigelow rolls him up from behind and grabs a handful of tights to get the win. One of their matches at a TV taping was shown on WWF Mania in May (because of the finish, I assumed it was from the card I went to even though there weren't cameras at ringside lol).

Most significant match of the decade

The end of the Hogan Era came at WrestleMania VIII. What the WWF brought back in 93 was out of pure desperation and by that time Bret Hart was the man to beat, not Hogan.

    Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect

I think it's a great match, a show-stealer, and the best singles match the WWF put on in 91. Personally, I loathe the entire star ratings system because it's all subjective. If I think a match is perfect, I couldn't care less if someone else thought it was only ***1/2. I like my opinion and I'll keep it.

    Dates?

Do you have a complete list of matches/interviews that CHV cut out for all ppv releases? For ALL PPVs? Not sure if I can help you out there. I've only seen a few of the PPV-version tapes that are floating out there on the net.

    Dates?

what matches were cut out? Papa Shango vs. El Matador and Tatanka vs. Bezerker were both advertised in the weeks prior to the PPV but were left off the home video. Tatanka vs. Bezerker was later added to one of the Columbia House "Best of" tapes in 93. I think both, along with the Duggan / Bushwhackers vs. Mountie / Nastys, were later televised on Prime Time Wrestling in the weeks following the show. The UK version left off the Crush vs. Repo Man match.

    Dates?

It was SummerSlam '92, so you were right. I just checked and it is listed at Cawthon's site. The match took place on 8/29/92, but aired in the U.S. on 8/31/92. It aired on tape delay because of the time zone difference. The market for a PPV at 3pm EST on a Saturday is probably not too big. The unfortunate part about it not being aired live is that the CHV cut out several matches.

    Damn straight!
  14. That looks like a pretty good assumption. The only thing I would change is for the tag title bout to perhaps be a tables match.

The Clique's one year title reign

Apparently most of the people on here are assuming Triple H has to lose at Unforgiven, due to the stipulations. While I sincerely hope he does, with all the talk of Goldberg's performance being a 'disappointment' and maybe not what the WWE had in mind, would it be entirely out of line to think Goldberg could be gone before the end of the year?

Just give Shane the belt already

Potential to solidify Kane as the logical #1 contender.

Let's put it this way ... IMO, Jessie > Jackie & Linda put together

What are you on? And if that does happen I'll get massively drunk later that night so I remember nothing the next day.

Just give Shane the belt already

And? This feud isn't about Shane, it's about Kane. The unstoppable, unbeatable bah gawd evil piece of humanity that no one can take out... Except the owner's son, who can do it at will. That doesn't strike you as absurd? But what about RVD? Kane is supposed to be an unstoppable monster that steamrolls everyone that looks at him funny. Having a see-saw feud with the webmaster of WWF.com is somewhere south of that. At will? Shane had his ass handed to him last night before he got lucky. Jesus Christ, it's not like Shane thought he was Goldberg and pinned Chris Jericho clean. There was no match - Shane just caught Kane off balance. The payoff to this should be Shane being decimated beyond belief at Unforgiven. If that doesn't happen then I'll join with you in thinking this rivalry is / was a horrible idea. Until then, I think it has potential.

    CHV sale on eBay

Just wanted to remind everyone about the fact that the auction ends in less than a day. The next video to be put up will be 'Even More Unusual Matches' from 87.
  21. Russo showed up in October 99. I'd bet Regal was gone by then due to his substance abuse and wasn't really seen again until the Pillman Memorial match with Benoit.

I'm spending Spring Break in NYC anyway so there's no reason for me not to go to Mania. Looking to get one of the $204 seats, as overpriced as they may be. I've never been to NYC, never been to MSG, and never been to a PPV ... so I'll have fun regardless of if Triple H wins.

    Something I Found interesting.

I KNEW I had seen her before. Lost all interest in Tough Enough 2 once she was gone (cause she was uber hot in a girl-next-door kinda way).
  24. cawthon777

Just give Shane the belt already

And? This feud isn't about Shane, it's about Kane. When all is said and done, Kane is going to be the next in line for a world title shot - not Shane. The only reason Shane is gaining the upper hand now is to add some drama to the piece ... it's no fun if Kane kills him week in and week out and THEN kills him again at Unforgiven.

    I miss the REAL Austin

I wish Austin would retire. I mean, he can't wrestle, and as you mentioned, he's not entertaining in this role... what's the damn point? Austin, and this is the writers' fault, is probably the most over guy on Raw today - so to take him off the show would be detremental to the product. The best thing about his character is that he can't attack fellow superstars without being provoked. Let's face it, if that weren't the case, we would get reruns of 98/99 where Austin comes ringside during a match, hits Stunners on both men involved, and then cuts some promo on random heel. Austin and Jericho are the best talkers on Raw, IMO, and unlike Triple H Austin will actually show up at house shows.
