Just give Shane the belt already

The only person on Raw that is portrayed as any kind of world champion is Triple H. Everyone else is fodder for whomever is hot at the moment. This is nothing new. If you look at their careers over the past year, Kane and Jericho have probably lost more than they've won but it doesn't really matter since neither man could lose heat if they wanted to. The only complaint here is that Shane was involved but, considering he only shows up once or twice a year, I wouldn't expect this to last too long.

    Smackdown has a paper champ

Yeah, and we know how well documented the hate is between Angle and Triple H </sarcasm> Don't read inbetween the lines too much or you'll turn out to be the next Oliver Stone.

    Marty Jannetty Commentary

Reading some reports from RSPW, especially from the UK trips in the early 90s, this stuff was not out of the ordinary at all. That's a quality story.

    Goldberg--Team player?!!!?

*Pictures Warrior / Honkytonk from Summer Slam 88* *Crosses fingers* Truthfully, it wouldn't hurt Triple H at all since he's already beaten Goldberg. He could claim it was a fluke and order for a rematch ... which Goldberg wins. Then Triple H is regulated to midcard where he makes quick work of Chris Jericho.

You have got to be kidding me!

Listen, I'm not the biggest Goldberg mark myself - and prior to his coming into the WWF in March I downright loathed him - but he hasn't been nearly as bad as he's made out to be in this thread (at least not compared to Triple H). All the crap he did in WCW (YEARS AGO, I might add) you could attribute to ego, sure, but the same could be said of almost anyone at some point or another. Let's see ... who else was in this match? HBK, Nash, and Triple H ... weren't they part of something called the Kliq, a little group often held responsible for holding many talented wrestlers down in the mid 90s? What about Nash's involvement in WCW where he booked himself to be world champion while at the same time burying Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko simply by referring to them as the Vanilla Midgets? So let's not make Goldberg the exclusive subject of unwavering hate. At this point in the game, I just want change - I don't freaking care who takes the title but it needs to happen soon. Triple H has held it 9 months - now he either needs to share or take his ball and go home because I'm sick of it. The only thing his title run has accomplished is a list of buried contenders with no credibility. He's being booked to look like God himself.
  6. Davey Boy was injured when he fell on the Warrior's trap door during a match. This was fall of 98 when Warrior briefly returned and would come up from underneath the ring to make his surprise appearances during Nitro (segments that often put me to sleep, literally). The fall broke his back and put him in the hospital for a great long while - and was the reason he later became addicted to pain killers. Sable left the WWF in May of 99. There were talks of her being an uber bitch backstage and she was furious over some of the guys pulling pranks on her - I believe Road Dogg took a crap in her bag at one point. She sued the WWF over sexual harrasment and showed up in the front row at WCW Monday Nitro a few weeks later - simply as a message to the wrestling community since it was too early for her to sign with WCW (no compete clause) as many predicted she would eventually do.
  7. I remember hearing Chris Jericho on the LAW a few days before Starrcade 98 and he was talking about his contract issues and his treatment in WCW. He basically said if he regained the TV title from Konnan at the PPV, it was a sure sign he was staying. If he lost, he was on his way out. They kept him around a few months more but jobbed him out to Saturn at Uncensored. Then, right around that same time, he lost to both Booker T and Scott Steiner in the US title tournament and was off TV by mid to late April. He continued working house shows for a few weeks more. His last bout was a tag match with he and Eddie against Kidman & Mysterio. He said before the match that if he was pinned, he would leave WCW. Kidman pinned him in the match and that was that. The Big Show's last WCW TV match was his loss to Diamond Dallas Page at Starrcade 98 after DDP hit a Diamond Cutter off the top.

    Long Term Mania Booking...

I'm a big fan of long term booking so I hope they use it for XX. You can put almost any two guys in the ring and, given the right buildup over the course of weeks or months, even Albert vs. Spanky could draw more than marginal interest.

    CHV sale on eBay

Well ... I paid $6 for it ... not sure if I want to lose a dollar on such a quality video lol

    What Was The 1st Video....

Slamboree 93. I found it at WalMart for $10 during the summer of 94. A little disappointed that it was edited but, since that was the same time I got into WCW, it was still pretty sweet to see guys like Davey Boy, Rude, Dustin, Vader, Windham, and Double A. Shortly thereafter, I found the three 'Best of' tapes released by Good Times Home Video at my local grocery store (Summer Slam's Greatest Hits, WrestleMania's Greatest Matches, and The Most Unusual Matches Ever). The later featured the Razor / Kid rematch from Raw, Duggan vs. HBK in the lumberjack match from Raw, the Bret / HBK ladder match, and the 4 Doinks Survivor Series bout. The most recent wrestling 'video' I picked up was the DVD of Royal Rumble 03 (which is notable because I usually don't buy PPVs on DVD due to the price). If we're talking VHS, I picked up Unforgiven 2001 about a month or so after it was released.

Okay well I've been planning on spending Spring Break in NYC since March ... and I put together a really nice site for you guys ... so help a brother out if I'm too dumb to find out the password on my own ...

    Your Favorite WWF Coliseum Video

Yeah, maybe I didn't make myself clear. The 'jobber' underneath him was Tugboat.

    CHV sale on eBay

I might be interested. I don't have a list put together at the moment but if there's a specific PPV / CHV you're looking for - let me know. If I sold it outside of eBay, it would be more than $5. Just letting you know.

    Your Favorite WWF Coliseum Video

That was actually Tugboat, I believe. I have a good many of them. I remember going to Blockbuster back when I was in 6th and 7th grade and seeing almost an entire row of JCP and CHV videos. I think at my peak, I rented about 4 at a time. They were like crack. I may not have been able to memorize everything I needed to know for a math test but I could tell you the results of every tape I rented like it was second nature. The first one I rented was Rampage 92, shortly after it came out in October 92. I've seen most of them since - save for the Savage tapes, Steamboat, Andre, and a few others. My favorite? If not Rampage 92 then ... Inside the Steel Cage (Piper vs. Sammartino, Snuka vs. Muraco, Backlund vs. Patterson, Sammartino & Santana vs. Adonis & Savage, Sammartino vs. Steele, etc). I'm going to be selling most of mine on eBay in the near future. I put a post under the Tape Trading forum for those interested.

Most significant match of the decade

I guess you have to go with Montreal but if I were to pick a second it would be, without a doubt, Bret vs. Austin from WrestleMania XIII. Not only did it turn Austin into a superstar, it also had the double turn - a move that in a roundabout fashion led to Montreal taking place.

    Watchin KOTR 95

Well they shot Mabel in the foot before he even turned heel. How are we supposed to take the 400lb monster heel seriously if he's done clean / semi-clean jobs to every midcard heel on the roster? I could have put money on Shawn winning the KOTR. He had just returned a few weeks earlier and the pops he was getting on TV were amazing - far louder than anyone else involved in the tournament save perhaps Taker. I thought Yoko was going to go over Razor, and with Savio subbing, I figured the finals would have Shawn vs. Yoko.

    I am so confused

Well doesn't Smackdown get next month's PPV? Can't give away all the money matches now.

I don't know if this is the full card but maybe it will be of some help. WWF @ Seattle, WA - November 5, 1994 Adam Bomb pinned Pierre (sub. for Bam Bam Bigelow) Lex Luger fought Tatanka to a double count-out WWF World Champion Bret Hart defeated Jim Neidhart with the Sharpshooter; Bob Backlund tried to get at Hart after the match IRS pinned Bob Holly by using the ropes for leverage WWF IC Champion Razor Ramon pinned Jeff Jarrett with the Razor's Edge The Undertaker defeated Yokozuna in a casket match

    Just a quick question...

I have that as well but wouldn't sell. At best ... maybe $15. The problem is that the re-released copy from 98/99 is so easy to find. The only reason someone would prefer the original is for the clamshell case and the Coliseum exclusives. The fact that so much was taken out of the CHV wouldn't help matters either.

    Just a quick question...

If starting price is $30, you'd be lucky to get a bid. Start low and if it doesn't get to be as high as you hoped, take the auction down and try again later.

    Trish Stratus DVD Extras Announced

If it has anything worthwhile on it, I might actually consider buying it ... because, well ... she's really hot and I think that if I buy it then I'm that much closer to marrying her. The same holds true for owning Alyson Hannigan and Heather Graham action figures.

    Your First Live Event

My website > Rajah & LOP put together (that's a greater-than sign, btw) This is just a shill post for those looking for my sig... As an addition to the post on my first show, two months later I saw HBK vs. Perfect in a rematch. By this time, Diesel had been brought in and Shawn actually got the pin with the superkick after Diesel tripped up the challenger. This was the final match on the card and I was livid that Perfect lost (I always thought he would easily kill HBK and win the title, given the chance) and I had to go home on a down note. Truth be told, I wanted to cuss like I had tourrett's but, being two weeks away from turning 12, I don't think the parents would have enjoyed that.
  24. After reading the previous house show thread, I went to the Roanoke Civic Center website a few minutes ago to see if they had a card lined up for next month's show which I have tickets for. They already started advertising Angle vs. Lesnar and Cena vs. Gunn on TV and radio so I already knew about those. One match in particular looks to be interesting considering what's going on at Summer Slam. Check out the 6-man tag. I know the "card scheduled to change" is applicable to any show the WWE puts on but I sure hope they don't rearrange the main event. I've never seen Angle live and he and Lesnar could easily tear the house down. Catch all the action and excitement of the World Wrestling Entertainment action - "Up Close and Uncensored" at the Roanoke Civic Center on Saturday Sept 13 at 7:30 PM. The following Superstars are scheduled to appear: Championship Match with KURT ANGLE vs. BROCK LESNAR and BILLY GUNN VS. JOHN CENA 3-Way Tag Team Title Elimination Match APA vs. CHARLIE HAAS & SHELTON BENJAMIN vs. BASHAM BROTHERS w/ SHANIQUA TAJIRI & CHRIS BENOIT vs. RHYNO & EDDIE GUERRO SPANKY vs. SEAN OHAIRE Diva's Bikini Contest TORRIE WILSON vs. NIDIA vs. DAWN MARIE vs. SABLE 3-way Cruiseweight Title Match REY MYSTERIO vs. BILLY KIDMAN vs. JAMIE NOBLE The Roanoke Debut of Zach Gowen MATT HARDY, SHANNON MOORE, & ZACH GOWEN vs. F.B.I. ORLANDO JORDAN vs. A-TRAIN Card is subject to change without notice. Still photography allowed; no tripods, professional lenses, video recorders or laser pens.

    Your First Live Event

I would recommend you go - just for the experience. There's no guarentee any particular show will be good or bad, no matter what is put on paper, but I've never seen what I would describe as a "bad" house show. I tend to prefer house shows over TV anyway.
