  1. I enjoy the masked demons that parade down the street to noisily keep winter at bay... Seriously Germany, wtf?
  2. I wonder if for the IC title tournament, the semi's will be done in hour 1 and the finals in hour 3 (or something along those lines). A PPV quality Punk vs. Rey match would be great, and I guess it would make the tournament itself even more prestigious to have the finals on PPV, but that would all be moot if the IC title match took place on Raw or 6 weeks later at the Royal Rumble.
  3. Yeah, he openly discussed it all in an interview on Off The Record (at least in my memory). I guess what I meant was, I don't know if it was public knowledge when the 10/26/97 Raw aired, but it definitely was by this episode.
  4. I'm looking forward to the show (as I tend to with 3 hours Raws - I don't want them every week, but specials can be fun) but people seemed to be really excited about this. I'm not going to set the bar so high that I'll be let down, but just with what's been announced already, it should be fine. Extra bonus for me - I don't have to go work after Raw this Monday, so hooray. I also suspect Jim Haas to win best impersonation because it was universally hated, so WWE needs to tell us it was great.
  5. It was something along the lines of "Stu's dead, his brain just doesn't know it yet". He said it while doing commentary with HHH and generally goofing on the Hart family.
  6. Nitro (which features Fit Finlay's awesome Irish Road Warrior look) mentions the nWo's big surprise (which I believe is everyone standing in the ring with Canadian flags) for next week and Raw has Ross mention that this will be the last time we'll ever see HBK vs. Bret, so while I did forget the exact time line of the whole Bret business becoming public, it quite obviously was out by this Raw. I suspect that played a part in Bret being at home.
  7. Well I assume enough people who are correct about things update it on a second to second to basis to catch things like that, ya know? What am I supposed to do, get my TV news from the Futon Critic? I can't read about the Atari Jaguar on that site.
  8. Well someone better tell wikipedia that. "The series is scheduled to premiere after Super Bowl XLIII along with a new episode of The Office." "Starring Aziz Ansari Amy Poehler Rashida Jones"
  9. Office II?
  10. Speaking of TSM and popularity, when you finish reading this post, think of something incredibly funny that will cause you to have a fit of laughter. Then associate that with the fact I caused it. Keep this in the back of your mind for Tournament Voting season. Take that, forums.eaststlouis.com!
  11. Then I was right, you sure do. Nothing wrong with that.
  12. Sure you do. I remember a friend of mine was showing me all the US marketplace content, but if he tried to download something it realized he had an IP incompatible with being in the US. Getting demos from a Japanese account worked fine though.
  13. You can make up as many fake accounts with incorrect countries as you want, but you probably don't want to pay to make them Gold.
  14. I'm just kidding... I need four. Will Michael yelling at Toby never not be funny? "You're a silent killer".
  15. I wonder if we'll ever find out the fate of The Real Larry Braverman.
  16. Destroyer is just being jealous.
  17. Yeah, I figure. I just meant it wasn't necessarily something that needed to be plotted into the show.
  18. I think it was really Ahmed Johnson vs. Steve Austin, but the world just wasn't ready for that. Kane saved us all.
  19. Julie Louis-Dreyfus was pregnant during Seinfeld and that never mattered (though once "Notes About Nothing" and various commentaries pointed it out, it became easy to see every scene she was in involved her carrying something in front of her or standing behind something).
  20. I'm pretty sure the picture of the store on wikipedia actually has a bum in it.
  21. Because Short Circuit 2 is awesome.
  22. I will say I enjoyed the Raw episode - the wrestling wasn't good at all but that's basically what we're going to be dealing with for the next 100 episodes or so, so might as well get used to enjoying the shows from a nostalgic point of view. That said, I was greatly disappointed with Bret sitting this one out. I was all set to possibly recap this for F4W as a historic "Bret Hart's last Raw", not realizing his actual last Raw was the visual tapout loss to Ken Shamrock the week before. I thought the pacing was a bit off too (but that might have been due to the time constraint issues Vince and JR brought up) with I believe 3 non-wrestling segments in a row followed by short matches. Thing I enjoyed: - Super "Crazy" Loco blowing two spots in a rather big way. It was an ok match outside of that, but a lot of flips with no substance. I also was excited about the prospect of eventually seeing Jerry Lynn as a one-shot jobber, but I was 99% sure he was never actually in the tournament. Some quick research revealed he gets replaced by Scott Taylor. I also like that Aguila used what would become Steve Blackman's first theme. Speaking of... - Steve Blackman! Crazed fan from the stands! - JR constantly mentioning that Goldust raped Marlena (of her dignity). - DX antics. - I kid you not, I laughed for a solid 40-60 seconds when Tito Santana spun around and morphed into El Matador for the Karate Fighters tournament.
  23. I actually got mad at Jake for slapping Liz (mostly because it looks like a short punch). Getting heat 17 years later! And I knew it was coming too!
  24. I brought up Laura Diakun because I think it's great that women that look like 16 year old high school students can be on-air presenters for a sports network. No misogyny here, The Pit!
