WWE General Discussion-November 2008
DrVenkman PhD replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
Where people wanted to serious discuss things such as wrestling (and I really do have to laugh at the absurdity of such a thing, even if I fall into it), no, it was awful. At the bottom of the board, some found it the best gimmick in months. I admit in small doses there was some comedy, but gimmicks shouldn't be a diversion, not a derailment. -
I know, I went there expecting to see some comedy about bad boi (whatever that is) and Orange Julius. What a waste.

WWE General Discussion-November 2008

I assume it's a reference to something popular that I don't follow. I guess people were too accepting of KRF's original gimmick so he amped it up to completely terrible. Just pretend nothing ever happened. -
I figured it out, multiple paths for Rey/Batista.

Are the guys on tour back home yet, though? I assumed not since SD was already taped. -

It's already Team Batista vs. Team Orton at Survivor Series (and Punk is on Batista's team). I suppose that could mean the available team members could run in and start a big brouhaha though. -
I called mt finisher (poison mist into a Canadian Destroyer) "Mist Opportunity". I was pretty satisfied with myself with that wordplay. Edit: Taking another route in Jericho's RtWM resulted in no new bonus unlocks, so now I don't know where I went wrong.

The OAO TSM "Happy Birthday, you!" Thread
DrVenkman PhD replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in No Holds Barred
Scroby and bob barron have their birthday on the same day, quite exciting! Happy Birthday to both. -
That doesn't explain why I don't have it... or maybe it does, because we had opposite paths. I'll give it a go. I think I f'd myself out of the 1 Year achievement by accidentally skipping 3 weeks or so. I thought I was challenging for the belt on Raw!

WWF Survivor Series 1991 & This Tuesday In Texas
DrVenkman PhD replied to KingPK's topic in WWE Multimedia
I was surprised to find out that Gorilla was voted Worst Television Announcer six times (1985, 1991–1995) by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Dave explained this on a F4W radio show as many people in their 20s now don't get the hate. It was justified that, as an announcer whose job it was to get a story across and what have you, Monsoon would often chastise people for not hooking the leg or going for a pinfall after a move that obviously was not the finish. I enjoyed his say what you want style, but others in that era did not. -

If you were to have a drinking game based on how many times someone mentions Tuesday, Texas, or calling the cable provider you're watching right now, you'd begin telling people that if they wanted to play 21, you have 22, and if they wanted to play Blackjack, you'd have four of those too. -
He wasn't skipped, he was OTC. It's easy for that to happen when the picks expire in the early morning hours.

I saw it there the other day.

It is now Scroby's turn.

http://www.wwe.com/play/games/nicknames/ I was hoping Kendrick and Mitchell (as in Mitch) would have been a match, but it was not to be. -
I'm wondering the same thing. I wondered if the second Jericho path counts as a different "bonus unlock" since I haven't done that yet. I'm also wondering if the locked title you need to win in career mode counts toward it (I can't recall if the achievement specifically stated "RtWM Bonuses" or "All bonuses").

Monsoon: Can I get security out here? Heenan: Why, you want another hot dog? This is an odd one... Heenan: The taco king rang his bell! As in Taco Bell! I wait for a "WILL YOU STOP!" or a "WILL YOU BE SERIOUS"... Monsoon: I understand. -

Col. Mustafa's post Triangle of Terror music is something I have no memory of, but it's pretty menacing. I like it. -
I'm sorry to hear that EHME. I've had I knew in grade school and high school die, but they weren't my pals so it was sad, but I didn't know them very well. I actually dread the day I get a phone call saying so and so died in a car accident (or whatever) and I have to attend a funeral for a friend. That out of the way, I can tell you all I would never, ever devote an entire thread about such a thing - especially here. Maybe if I didn't know any better, but if you don't expect TSM or the internet in general to be jokesters, well, I can't find a way to end that sentence. If this was intended as an emotional release to deal with grief, more power to you, but I couldn't see myself going this route.

WWF Survivor Series 1991 & This Tuesday In Texas
DrVenkman PhD replied to KingPK's topic in WWE Multimedia
Yeah I got my main event survivors mixed up. I'm watching 1990 on tape from 24/7 two years ago, then watching / recording 91 right after. -
By my math, Gosunkugi has as well. Weekends can get like that, I suppose. Flagg went on the clock at 9:10 pm (eastern, of course), which means Gosunkugi would have gone on the clock at 5:10 am... which means Spike is 2 hours from also being on the clock!

Speaking of Mad TV, are we sure that Kristin Wiig and Mo Collins are not the same person? All of their annoying characters annoy me in the same annoying way.

I remember one of the people I was at the show with thought there was going to be a Grand Finale match even though they never said such a thing on TV. An archived WON mentioned that WWF Magazine advertised it but they changed their minds after going to press. That would have been something, Ric Flair, Blake Beverly, and The Nasty Boys vs. Big Bossman, Jim Duggan, Sgt. Slaughter, El Matador, and Texas Tornado. -
spman was a big collector of those back in the day.

According to SvR 2009, WrestleMania is in Portland! I could only imagine such a thing happening.
