The one time I'm home to watch college football...and Game 7 of the NLCS is on. An article in the LA Times was mentioning the possible horror of having Syracuse, Rutgers or UConn in a BCS game...apparently they don't pay much attention to West Virginia. They should wrap up the Big East, and they will be a formidable opponent in a BCS bowl, probably the only Big East team that will be.

OK, so as soon as the World Series was set I had to go straight to WhatifSports.com for a simulation. I know the Red Sox rotation, I did St. Louis' assuming Marquis will start Game 1 for St. Louis. Also, the teams contain players that have been traded away, so Nomah actually gets into a Series. Finally, the way the sim handles pitchers I think is crap, they either let starters give up 5 runs on 9 hits and pitch a complete game, or they go to an unknown reliever for a save situation. With that in mind, here's how the 2004 World Series plays out according to WhatIfSports.com... Game 1: Boston 5, St. Louis 2 Game 2: St. Louis 5, Boston 4 Game 3: Boston 3, St. Louis 2 Game 4: St. Louis 8, Boston 7 Game 5: Boston 3, St. Louis 0 Game 6: Boston 10, St. Louis 6

Pulled over a few years ago for doing 80 on the freeway on the way back home from college, I think the cop thought I was drunk cause when I saw the lights I pulled to the left first thinking he was pulling someone else over. Then I remembered to move to the right (yes common sense escapes me often) before finally realizing he meant me and pulled over. He let me off with a warning once he saw I wasn't drunk, just stupid. Officers are people. Treat them with respect and don't bullshit them, and they'll help you out more often or not.

California - Born and raised, and been all over the state. When I got my car within a month I took it up to Sacramento for a conference. Nevada - I love Vegas. When I get a lot of money I will be there often. Arizona - It was all right. My grandpa was from Jerome, which is a semi ghost town (people still live there but they haven't stuck any new buildings in or anything) and my family spent a day going through the town, we found his old high school and got an old photo of him so it was neat. Colorado - saw Mesa Verde (the place where the Anazazi Indians built their cities into the sides of the mountains) Utah - saw Zion and Bryce Canyon New Mexico - Passed through one time, the next time stayed in Las Cruces. Nice little desert town. I considered going to school there (I was accepted by New Mexico State) but decided I didn't want to go too far from home. Texas - The road from El Paso to San Antonio is the road to nowhere - you see NOTHING. You get NOTHING on the radio. We went down to Corpus Christi, saw the USS Lexington, Selena's salon and Selena's house (my parents were big Selena fans). Mexico - Went into Ciudad Juarez while in El Paso. Dirtiest city I've ever seen. Couldn't wait to get out. And then we got stopped by Customs cause my parents decided to buy alcohol over there. Idaho - Twin Falls - Walked on the Snake River Bridge, near the spot where Evel Knievel tried the jump. Scary - the wind was blowing hard and the bridge vibrates, so I felt like I was gonan go flying off any second. And it is a LONG way down. Oregon - Saw Crater Lake, think that is the last time I have been camping. It rained all day with thunderstorms, needless to say I was miserable - I never liked camping before but that pretty much cinched it. Washington - I want to move up there so badly. I loved Seattle. We stayed there for a few days, saw the Space Needle, Key Arena, saw a Mariners game at the Kingdome. I think it was that trip that made me a Mariners fan for good. My parents have been back and said the two new stadiums are awesome, someday I want to go up there and see for myself. Canada - Visited Vancouver - probably the cleanest city I have ever seen. The air was clear, the city was nice. I pick Seattle over Vancouver but it's pretty close.

That's my favorite part, I'm always repeating it. That and when Col. Sandurz tells Lord Helmet he didn't see him playing with his dolls again. When Lonestar uses the Schwartz to reverse Megamaid's vaccum: "What's wrong?" "It's Megamaid, sir. She's gone from suck to blow!!"

Or three PIP windows where you can keep track of up to four games at the same time, and being able to switch to either one with the press of a button. Or a White House Situation Room type TV with one huge screen surrounded by smaller screens, all showing football. I think I just created Heaven.

Let's see...in California you can go and get a temporary permit that allows you to drive with someone over the age of 18, or a certified driving instructor. I think you have to be 16 years old to get the permit. Then you go to the DMV and take your written test. Pass that test and you go on to the driving test. Surprisingly there is no freeway on the driving test anymore like there used to be. It's been a while since I took it, so my memory could be fuzzy. Automatic is just easier. I should learn how to drive a manual just to know how, but with an automatic there's less to think about. I can just put it in drive and not have to worry about anything else, while with a manual you have to constantly change the gears for best performance. Considering I have CD's and I usually let my mind wander in the car I don't need something else to worry about.

Rix still looks like a freshman...a HIGH SCHOOL freshman. He routinely screws over his team, then proceeds to go out and do it again. In between he occasionally flashes some talent, then blows it up with another blunder. And sometimes it looks like he still doesn't get it...THROW the ball away...PROTECT THE BALL AT ALL COSTS. They keep bringing up the fact that he's the only QB only Bowden to start four seasons...what no one mentions is that he was pretty much the only option, he has been replaced, and had Adrian McPhearson decided not to start gambling McPhearson would be the starter. I just don't understand the guy. I wonder if the light is ever going to go on and he'll start making good decisions. But his time is running out.

Sarah is hot. She looks a lot like Lindsay Lohan. Melanie is all right, and Shavonda is freaking hot. So two freaking hot girls and one all right girl isn't too bad. The look on Landon's and MJ's faces when Keramo told him he was gay was priceless. They had NO clue at all.

Without question. Five or six of the games have such upset potential that I could see them going either way almost equally. Should be a fun weekend. This was a hard week to pick, since there has only been one week and I'm not sure who is for real yet. The Fresno State/Kansas State game is really intriguing...Marshall was able to beat KSU last year at home. KSU is not as good as last year, and Fresno State looked pretty good against Washington. I'm really not buying into the Fresno State hype yet (I think Utah is a more credible BCS-buster) but I think they have a good chance of pulling out a win. FSU/Miami could go either way too...whichever QB plays well will be the deciding factor.

It's an offense that is working in a new line (I think only one is a senior and I believe there are a couple of freshmen starting) amd new recievers. It is going to take a few games before they really get rolling. And I think Tech's defense is pretty good, they have some pretty good players. The fortunate thing for USC is that after this game their non-conference schedule isn't that tough, so the offense will have some time to jell together before the Pac-10 schedule begins.

Sydney, Washington DC and Atlanta sound interesting. Boulder? What, are they going to have jobs related to finding JonBenet's real killer? I've always thought about trying out, but I'm far from being a pretty person, and my preferred method of dealing with conflict is to walk away and solve it when cooler heads prevail rather than getting drunk and screaming at the other drunks in the house.

Edgar's been one of my favorite players for years and I'm hoping he goes out with a bang. At least he is going to step out when he knows he's losing it rather than trying to stick around long past his time to go. I suppose the only question now is if he'll go into the Hall of Fame.
