"Revenge of the Cupcakes"
-
Hey UT, you might want to put someone on Gonzalez tonight.
-
No kidding. Why the hell are we still being subjected to LSU pistol whipping Arizona? Cut your losses and go to something marginally (and surprisingly) competitive.

Is it the kind of show that you can jump in to (episodic), or does it have an overreaching story arc that makes it difficult to join "in media res"? I might give it a chance if I can remember to find it on Adult Swim. You'd think with Adult Swim's willingness to show anime I'd check it out more often than I do. Just keep forgetting to see what's on.

Street Fighter is the best movie ever.

Mortal Kombat the series was good old fashioned cheesy fun, complete with some WCW tie-ins (didn't a couple of wrestlers show up?). Plus, it had Kristanna Loken, Jamie Pressly, AND Fabiana Udenio so at least it had some nice eye candy. And of course, the all time best series ending episode with the Emperor coming to Earth and killing everyone. Classic. First movie kicked ass. Saw it in college with a bunch of my teammates from the football team (came out during two a days IIRC, so there wasn't a lot going on on campus). Enjoyable popcorn flick. Had no interest in seeing the sequel, and waited until it came to TV before seeing it. I'm glad I didn't spend money on a ticket. Awful awful awful movie. -
I'm not going to lie, it's a pretty typical Shonen Jump actioneer in the style of predecessors like DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, etc., but with swords and enough elements to make it fun and unique, and of course plenty of blood and violence with a healthy, balanced amount of comedy. Eh, ok thanks. Never really liked DBZ style anime. Just never appealed to me.

Comments that don't warrant a thread

Dark Cloud 2 was a fun RPG to play. Getting ideas for creations by taking pictures of everyday objects and combining them was a very neat idea and they executed it well. The little golf minigame could get maddening in parts though. Well, I figured staring at my 360 wasn't doing me any good, so I've gone back to finish all those games I started but never finished. First up is the .Hack series. I whipped through the 1st game, and I'm about halfway through the 2nd one (if my memory serves). My first time through I stopped about halfway through the 3rd game when I hit a needlessly complicated part (you have to solo a dungeon that you're woefully unprepared and underlevelled for) so I'm trying to get my character as far along as I can get him (getting all the rare items, weapons, and armor, etc.). We'll see how it goes. Plus, all this dovetails nicely into the .Hack/GU series that starts up late next month I believe. -
I'm still not completely sold on Daniel Craig, but he does seem to fit the new mold they seem to be making for Bond. Trailer does sell the movie well. I might go catch it opening weekend, which is saying something for me (I hate seeing big movies on opening weekend), And yes, Halle was terrible. I liked Michelle Yeoh, but then again I've got a bit of a thing for Asian women so take that for what it's worth.

Can someone give me a quick synopsis of Bleach and Blood+? I've just about exhausted my romantic comedy/braindead animes (I even picked up a copy of Airbats, now THAT'S braindead comedy) and looking for a change of pace. BTW, for you romantics, I just a torrent of Please Teacher. Not bad all in all. Animation was very good, and the secondary characters (esp. sarcastic Ichigo and my personal favorite, Uncle Minoru) are very well done. The series actually takes a very mature look at certain issues (including teenage sex) and shows that they can often lead to problems. However, Mizuho (the aforementioned Teacher) is a bit too whiny and insecure, and Kei develops very slowly for a lead character. He actually baffled me a couple of times because he frequently goes on about "what he wants" then goes completely AGAINST what he obviously wants. Also, the attempted teacher/student/female student love triangle didn't work very well, basically because the female student is annoying and somewhat conniving at times. Finally there are a couple of incidents that kind of stretch the thin line between "coincidence" and "come on man don't insult my intelligence!" BTW, avoid the OAV. It's nothing but a regular episode played for fan service. Plus it's creepy to see a woman and "she doesn't look old enough to be " her mother going after the same 15 year old (although they did try to explain things to make it slightly less creepy). Once I finally download an English dub of Please Twins (3rd time's a charm!) I'll take a look at it and pass along my thoughts should anyone be interested.

After watching Culpepper in the 4th last night, I'm very uncomfortable having Ronnie Brown and Chris Chambers as my #1 RB and WR. Brown actually didn't do too badly last night (the two TDs saved me) but Chambers. Man, they didn't even look to him with any consistency until after Booker got KTF(temporarily)O. I'm starting to get worried.

Apparently so's Mr. Irwin now. *purchases a window seat on the trip to Hell he's now on* To be honest, I'll miss him. He always seemed like a crazy bastard who had no fear, but I'm fairly sure he was usually in control of the situation. He respected the animals and knew what they would put up with. I still though he'd end up as Crocodile Chow though.

Did JR just make a "Mr. Wrestling II at the Omni" reference? That's bizarre.
-
I was there and still remember it. It was intense. Crowd was popping for everything, the National Anthem got what seemed like a 5 minute standing O. Night to remember.
-
Holy shit it's like the Natural Born Killaz as done by the Zucker brothers.
-
*watches "Fearless" and "The Protector" commercials" It's good that Nathan Jones has found work getting the crap beaten out of him by small Asian men.
-
Nature Boy vs. Cuban Nature Boy in a promo-off! WOOOOO!!!!! EFA
-
Ric Flair and Maria. I give it 15 seonds for the first "Space Mountain" reference.
-
Man, did Trevor just break his neck??
-
Maria is STILL watching the paint dry. Why can't the writers spend as much time on the important things as they do the throwaway stuff?
-
DX is attacking the black ninja squad!! It sounded like the last chair shot on that skinny guy didn't really catch him flush like it was supposed to.
-
Well, she is still staring at it. Now who do they get to be the straight man for the punchline? Possibly Cena, he seems to work well with her in backstage skits. I'd love to work with Maria's backstage. EFA, innuendo included free of charge.

Man, Crazy is trying his damndest to make this a watchable match.

Masters with the jobber entrance? Ouch. Please tell me they're not bringing back the Masterlock Challenge. Open challenge? I can accept that. WHAT THE HELL?!
