The Evaluate Each Other's Fantasy Team Thread
Conspiracy_Victim replied to MrRant's topic in Fantasy Sports
Unfortunately I'm in a "must keep 2" league and I missed out on the decent backs in a league that emphasized running over passing. Ended up keeping Eli and Chambers and reaching for some RBs. I don't have a very good team this year unless someone (or 2, or 3) have a breakout season. Must carry 2 kickers and defenses for tiebreaker pruposes. QB: Eli Manning (keeper), Brett Favre (12) RB: Ronnie Brown (1), Frank Gore (2), Joseph Addai (6), TJ Duckett (9) WR: Chris Chambers (keeper), Andre Johnson (3), Eddie Kennison (5), Braylon Edwards (7), Michael Jenkins (13), Marcus Robinson (10) TE: Alge Crumpler (4), Joe Klopfenstein (14) K: David Akers (11), Ryan Longwell (16) D/ST: Redskins (8), Falcons (15) -
What a diffence a few hours make. According to most recent projections, Florida is now fucked. Storm is now anticipated to run smack into Florida. Possibility exists that Ernesto, as it recovers from crossing over Haiti, will reform into a "major storm system", meaning a strong Cat. 3 at least. The possibility exists that it might even make it back over Florida, reform AGAIN over the Atlantic, and bounce up the east coast. As of right now though that's a small possibility.

You're lucky Debbie's falling apart and probably won't make it to the US. But you're about due for a big one on the eastern seaboard, ain't ya?

Ugh, never mind. I'll have to hit up Limewire.

I realize that most who check this thread out are into anime already, but for those of you who are just getting into it I recommend Cowboy Bepop. I've got the movie (which is pretty good as a stand alone) which serves as a fair primer on the characters, but I just got the complete set. Great show. If nothing else check out the music (courtesy of Yoko Kanno) which is some of the best I've heard. The music plays a huge part of the show in setting the mood of each episode and the characters. Excellent combination of blues, rock (and not even J-pop for the most part), and even some blues thrown in. I've heard there's a soundtrack CD out somewhere, and I might have to pick it up.

Bah, it's Texans and soon to be Rockets seasons. There's plenty of reasons to not do anything with anyone else.

So having bad secondary makes no one want to go near me. Hm... That makes sense then. Would also explain why this 5* receiver is loving my throwing for nearly 1000 yards in two games. But also hurts trying to get recruits. Dammit, why couldn't I negotiate for a shorter contract than 6 years? Dammit all. What do you mean multiple D? I'm not sure I understand this terminology. And how good is Utah's offense playbook and can you explain? Yeah the recruiting's a bit odd, but also true to life. If you're a 5* WR, would you want to go somewhere like Air Force where they run the ball 90% of the time? Nope. So, a balanced offense will help you get a balanced class. But, it's harder on defense. If you're got a weak pass D, top secondary players won't give you the time of day for the most part simply because you're not good at what they do. It's kind of a vicious cycle unless you manage to either a) get good enough that everyone wants to come to your school or b) improve your seconday (spring game, off season training, etc.). Since I start off with cupcakes, I usually have to take option a. "Multiple D" is one of your options for your defensive playbook. It allows for a broader spectrum of plays across all the defenses, but it doesn't specialize. For instance, I run a 4-3. I have some options when I choose to run a 3-4 defense, but it's not very in depth. If I choose "Multiple D", I get more options in the 3-4 but give up some of my 4-3 defenses, since there's only so much practice time in a day to learn all the defensive schemes. At least, that's what it looked like to me when I took a look at the Multiple D playbook. I'm just a died in the wool 4-3 guy myself though despite running a hybrid 3-4/5-2 in college. Just didn't like being a blocking dummy for the linebackers.

OAO ECW TV Week 11 Thread - August/22nd/2006.

And then the crew from Stargate do a run in cause they're pissed about being taken off TV. I think Christopher Judge could qualify as a hoss. -
Smackdown Spoilers for the 8/25 airing

Bulldogs vs. London Spanking vs. Teacher's Pets BROKEN IN HALF MATCH First team to throw Brian Kendrick from an elevated spot with at least a ten foot drop wins. Note: If Kendrick falls under his own power, he is eliminated from the match and is to be replaced by Matt and/or Jeff Hardy. Should Matt/Jeff also fall under his own power, Katie Vick will step in to finish off the contest. All the way up to Katie Vick, I'd be willing to watch that match. -
I'm going to have to wait and see what the features are. A feature on how they got Dirk Diggler to sing "The Touch" in "Boogie Nights" isn't going to do it. I need something good to make me double dip.

Maybe he has the same sort of "condition" as Scofield (able to analyze things just by looking at them, etc.) and the pills keep it somewhat under control? When Scofield went to the pshrink last season the analyst said (IIRC) something to the effect that it can cause people to go insane because the person starts breaking EVERYTHING down to it's component parts and can't focus on what he's looking at, or something to that effect. Also, Veronica getting blown away was surprising in the sense that it was a "name" actress. I figured she'd stick her nose into the wrong place sooner or later and pay the price for it. So, does Sara take Veronica's place as the investigator, seeing as how she's going to get her ass fired from the prison?

Cowboy Jimmy Yang? Uh huh. Is Bob Orton going to come kick the crap out of him (without bleeding, mind you) for stealing his gimmck? A Bulldogs/KendrickLondon/Teacher's Pets 3 way match would be acceptable. Make the blowoff a ladder match or have some other way to have Kendrick throw himself off some conveniently elevated spot. -
Gang Wars v2.0: Draft Declarations
Conspiracy_Victim replied to Art Sandusky's topic in No Holds Barred
I'm not even sure what the hell this draft is for, but just based upon this thread the ensuing car wreck is going to be bigger than RVD/Sabu after they finish off a dime bag. Going to be entertaining as shit to watch. -
I saw Ninja Scroll and was kind of torn on it. On one hand it was the typical epic journey with a dark hero. The blood geysers and over the top violence were off-putting, to say the least. In other news, I've been acquiring Trigun and watched about the first half. Good voice work (the English dub is surprisingly good) although the animation looks a bit dated in spots. I must say, episodes 11-13 surprised me with the way Vash changed as a character. Wolfwood and Vash together are hilarious, but from things I've heard I have a bad feeling about that friendship.

Well it's football season now, so at least the Astros got us through the summer before they pissed the season away totally.

No shit. I couldn't believe it. SS with his asinine "If you missed Bush's 44 yard run last week, watch what he did THIS week!" What, make a good cut on a run, take a swing pass for a first down, and basically have a (statistically speaking) shitty game? ESPN needs to get over the Reggie Bush fellatio and realize that Mario had a good game. He pressured the backfield of the Rams and opened up pass rushing lanes for Peek, Greenwood, and everyone else by frequently tying up 2 blockers. He had more tackles than they gave him credit for (including a nice TFL when he beat the tackle to the inside and chased down the RB) and was much better than last week. ESPN can kiss my ass.

WTF was THAT match? Flair the JTTS?

I bet theres a huge prop storage closet at WWE HQ, and I bet its in there somewhere. Nah, it's not at HQ...Edge is fucking it. *sudden image of Edge in bed and a mechanical "Oh yeah baby do it again" coming out from under the covers* God that's horrible. I doubt Edge could bag Linda. OK I was wrong. THAT's horrible. I need to go pour bleach directly onto my brain now.

That's what I was thinking. Falir gae Melina a ride on old Space Mountain, and now she's with him. Would that make Nitro the Teacup Ride?
-
It took the Coast Guard to pull Edge out of 4 feet of water? What, does Edge absorb water like a sponge or something?

"I've been blown up, thrown into thumbtacks, torn up with razor wire, thrown off the top of a steel cage, and branded with an iron. But kissing a 60-something year old man's ass? That's just going too far for me."
