So...they're going to kill off the heat of two of their most over stars by having them lose to heels in title matches at WM, then trade them for each other? That doesn't make much sense. But then, this is SKeith (and the WWE) we're talking about.

OK I'll be the nOOb here and say it. I've never read "Sin City" but I'm interested in the movie based on the commercials/hype. Can anyone kinda summarize what this is all about or point me in the right direction towards a good summary?

NEW!! Episode III trailer........
Conspiracy_Victim replied to NoCalMike's topic in Television & Film
Palpatine vs. Yoda. I think a "Konichiwa, bitches" would be in order for that one. The Anakin/Obi Won fight is supposed to be epic as well. I'm starting to get excited about Episode 3, even though I KNOW I shouldn't. -
Well, even though I'm not a big watcher of UFC (I've seen a few cards, but haven't seen anything in a long while) I have a few thoughts anyway. A) Give it up Southworth. Damn you passed "sore loser" and went directly to "crying bitch" after the 3rd repitition of "He didn't hurt me!" Decisions are very what-iffy. If you don't want to risk it, pull a Diego and just pound the poor jackass across from you. B) By the way Bobby, I wouldn't count on getting another shot at the big time anytime soon. You may be upset about losing, but you don't curse out the president of the UFC unless he gives you the go ahead first. C) If I was Josh and had seen Diego trying to grab electricity out of the air, that would've been it. No way I would've gotten into the ring with someone that obviously deranged. D) Leben's back eh? I don't know which would be funnier: him knocking Kosheck's head clear out of the ring, or him jobbing to Kosheck AGAIN. Personally, I'm hoping for the former because Kosheck annoys the crap out of me. E) It doesn't matter though, because I'm fairly certain that Diego will choke/maim/destroy anyone who comes between him and the contract. F) Why don't they just let Hoger go over to team Coture and be done with it? He doesn't want to be on Team Lidell and they don't WANT him there. I guess after Griffin knocks someone out it could happen. Doubtful this late in the game though. Anyway, I'm filled with a manly sort of love for Diego, and wish him well in his asskicking endeavors.

Eh, that guy (level 2 boss) is a pain in the ass until you get the double swords. So far they are my favorite weapons. You go totally nuts on people with them. As for the gunkata, just wait. Apparently there's a scene that looks like a direct copy of the last fight scene from Equilibrium. I've seen a little bit of it and it rocks. Of course, the cutscene before scene 6 is pretty damn cool itself. Replaying levels is about the only way to get through this game. It's nearly impossible to get enough orbs to buy everything you need just by playing the game straight through.

Paging INXS, INXS please report to the Current Events folder...

Well, finally got past stage 7 boss fight. It isn't easy, even ON Easy. Basically I went back and replayed the earlier non-boss levels to get supplies and get my stances higher. This is getting like Ninja Gaiden difficult.
-
Well I'm on Stage 7, and the game is still hard enough that I'm getting fairly frustrated. It's hard to get enough red orbs to buy enough healing stars to make it through a stage, and they go up in price quite substantially every time you buy one. Plus, the boss fight on this stage is brutal. As an aside, pay attention to the cutscenes before every scene. They fit the stage number in on every one. Not exactly earth-shattering I know, but kinda cool nontheless.

Soon. It'll happen. Now now don't scare the poor guy. I had my PS2 for 5 years and the only thing that ever happened was the cooling fan broke because of a stupid mistake I made. It got repaired and sent back with no problem. Other than a few annoying "Disc read error"s I had no problems with it until I traded it in to get the new slimline one. Maybe I was just lucky I guess.

Well if Cena/Bradshaw gets one, does that mean HHH does another one, this time with Batista?

Well, the Texan's FA shopping is probably over apart from resigning their own. They (IMO) over paid for Seth Payne at 4 years, $16 mill and a $4.5 million bonus. Then today they spent the rest of their open cap space on Morlon Greenwood from the Dolphins at 5 years, $22.5 million with a $7 million bonus. I don't know much about Morlon (I don't watch the Dolphins) but he seems to fit the mold of a 3-4 ILB. This signing, combined with Kailee Wong moving to the inside, seems to eliminate the possiblity of trying to trade up to get Derrick Johnson. I still have no idea where the Texans are going with their first pick though.
-
That would be great. He could bring back the "Everybody's got a price!" catchphrase. Shoot, I bet Stephie would LOVE to have RVD kiss Ted's shoe again (or whatever it was). Actually though, Ted was one of my favorite heels back in the day. It would be fun to see him on TV again.

Well I've got it and played around a little bit. The reviews who have made particular mention of the fact that this game is "hard" weren't kidding. This game kicks your ass right from the start and doesn't let up. I breezed through the first two fairly quickly but I've actually had to start a game on "easy" just to get anywhere. Looking forward to seeing how crazy it gets later on.
-
Well I use reviews as a guide personally, and GameInformer and I seem to be on the same page. They all have given DMC 3 high scores, so I'm looking forward to pick it up when it arrives today (for some reason Gamestop won't have them on shelves until this afternoon). I loved the first one, didn't care for the second one.

The OAO 77th Annual Academy Awards Thread

I don't think we should take for granted where Oscars end up. Shoot Marisa Tomei still has one on her mantle, assuming she hasn't sold it. -

Samuel's envelope says "Bad Motherfucker" on it. -
Yeah -- me, myself and I... Sounds like something out of that Richard Dreyfuss movie Moon Over Parador . "Which one are you going to vote for?" "I'm going to vote for Blue Simms." "Why not? It's a free dictatorship."

Yeah but all those others guys sucked. Mike James is actually good. Actually, Sura's done a helluva job at the point. Just that Van Gundy's facination with old Knicks means we've been subjected to Charlie Ward and Rod Strickland so far this season as well. Besides, we got Moochie Norris, so we get him and his horrible contract back. I guess it's fitting, the Rockets signed him to that abomination of a deal.
-
At this point, I'd prefer Baker to Taylor. Anything he could do, Juwon Howard could do better and cheaper. At least Baker could become thug-lite and protect Yao down low. Plus he could play the 5 in a pinch (say, if Yao and Deke's heads fell off).
-
Houston actually got a pick in the Taylor trade. Just a 2nd, but a pick nontheless. It'll make up for one of the ones we lost to get James. A productive day for the Rockets. We lost two picks, gained one back (possibly a higher one given what the Knicks look like now), picked up 2 PGs since Sura's out for a couple of weeks (even though one is Moochie Norris and his Chia Pet like afro), picked up a banger PF in Baker, and lost the albatross that is Maurice Taylor's huge contract. I salute you, Carroll Dawson.

MVP Baseball and ESPN MLB released early
Conspiracy_Victim replied to Matt Young's topic in Video Games
GOD has nobody listened to the Dropkick Murphys? I'm calling Spicy McHaggis in here. *checks* Yup my other post is still there. I SAID I liked it. Actually I like a lot of that that kind of music. Seven Nations (they played the St. Patrick's Day Festival down here before they hit it big [well, as big as they have]) and a local band called The Blaggards as well. -

Actually, I just dl'ed Tessie and I kinda liked it. An Irish rock song about the Red Sox fans? Sure, I'll listen to it. It actually led me on a Dropkick Murphys download spree. I recommend "Kiss Me, I'm Shitfaced" and "Irish Drinking Song". -

Eh last year's MVP froze on the same date on 2 or 3 different franchises for me so I'm still a bit wary. Unlike some others around here though I like EA (at least their sports games) so I'll probably break down and give it a shot eventually. A rock song with bagpipes??
