Peanuthead with the pimp walk. I don't like fan friendly Cena. Too "Aww, the fans are behind me I'm so happy". Go back to face leaning tweener.

They killed Alicia the hottie stalker. YOU BASTARDS! *sniff sniff* Good to see Lois back, and looks like she'll be a major factor next week. More Erica Durance = more interest on my part.

    It's National Signing Day.....

Well as an A&M fan, I'm pleased with what Fran did this year. He used his recruiting points well and really sold the kids on early playing time, location, and team prestige. I'm sure he'll win the national championship and get that 6th star added, which means more recruiting points. Then he can travel up to Alaska whenever he wants and get those 5* players. /NCAA Football 2005 mode off

The OAO WWE Royal Rumble 2005 Thread

So...umm... Anyone know where a guy could pick up some highlights of the match, if not the match itself? Yes I know it's only been 5 hours. I would like to at least see London's latest desperate attempt to get attention from WWE bookers, and maybe Hassan getting beat down by apparently everyone. Working evening shift sucks, I would've ordered this one if this had been my weekend off.

    WWE Saturday Night Solar Plexus

They shoulda just had Haas end up with Jackie AND Dawn Marie. Then when people asked how he managed to hook up with both of them and keep them both happy, he could've just said he was "hung like a Haas". Hey, it's better than teaming with Bob Holly.

    English Football

OK this thread is WAAAYYYY too long for me to look through to see if I can find anything on this (I imagine there is somewhere) but I thought this was interesting. 9-Year-Old Soccer Phenom Attracts Scouts Thu Jan 27, 2:13 PM ET By TALES AZZONI, Associated Press Writer SAO PAULO, Brazil - At this rate, sonograms will become a soccer recruiting tool pretty soon. Jean Carlos Chera, a 9-year-old who is 4-foot-6, is attracting interest from Manchester United and other top European teams. Chera, who weighs 77 pounds, currently plays for the youth teams of Associacao Desportiva Atletica, a small club in the southern Brazilian state of Parana. "Seven or eight European clubs have already contacted us to know more about Jean," team president Adilson Batista Prado said in a telephone interview Thursday. "They want to know what he is all about, and I tell them he's a phenomenon, probably the best player to come out of Brazil." Prado and team officials would not identify all the clubs interested in Jean, but confirmed that representatives of Manchester United have asked for videotapes of his matches. Prado said teams from Portugal, France and Germany have made contact, and local media identified FC Porto as one of the teams. The club said the European clubs haven't made official offers yet, but some have asked for permission to send representatives, and others have invited the midfielder and his family to go to Europe. "He still needs to be a kid," said Prado, who does not allow Jean to talk to reporters. Jean began to attract attention after the club put videos with highlights of Jean's matches on its Web site. In the videos, Jean is seen scoring goals from midfield, dribbling past several defenders and playing among 13- and 14-year-olds. After the videos were posted, the site's page views nearly tripled and some of them had to be removed to keep the site from crashing, the club said. Two years ago, Manchester and Inter Milan were among top clubs that expressed interest in then 14-year-old Freddy Adu, who signed Major League Soccer instead. European clubs generally are not allowed to use players from outside the European Union (news - web sites) on their first teams until they turn 18. 9 YEARS OLD?! And if you think it's just a lot of smoke and mirrors, here's a link to some of his highlights. I would actually watch this kid play when he gets older.

    Smallville Season 4 Thread

This episode made my head hurt. "You tried to kill me, I forgive you." "Oh look you drugged me and married me even though you knew I wasn't in my right mind. I forgive you." "You took a bullet for me even though no one would believe the guy if he said I caught it. Cool!" I guess ultrahorniness makes you very forgiving. Chloe was deflowered by JIMMY FRIGGIN OLSEN? I may have to hunt down and hurt Miles, Gough and Millar for this. That and for making Lana and Jason so goddamned boring. BTW, the Kent folks really need to lighten up. They know that red Kryptonite makes Clark not give a crap about anything. Why bitch at him when (/Snitsky mode on) IT WASN'T HIS FAULT! (/snitsky mode off)? Don't get me wrong. Any episode that has Sarah Carter running around in lingerie (especially the white wedding gown outfit) isn't all bad. Just didn't really make much sense with some of the leaps of reasoning.

    This week in the NBA

It's kind to dumb to start a "playoff watch" when the All-Star break has even passed yet. Hey now I will celebrate the Rockets being the 6th seed (especially after the start they had) if I want!

    Reviving old gimmicks

I thought they had that planned for Nathan Jones *shudder*. Still though, it would be nice if they did something out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, for some reason I don't remember much about Mercy. Wasn't it something like "acts like a face outside the ring, heel inside the ring", Cape Fear sorta gimmick?

    Reviving old gimmicks

If memory serves, Hass, they even flipped Cena after what, 3 or 4 months of being a generic face. The problem with being a new guy face is that there's no compelling reason to like him. Being a new heel seems to me to be somewhat easier, as all you need to do is cheat like a mofo, insult the fans, and suck up to those higher up the food chain than you. A face needs a REASON to be a face (rebelling against an oppressive heel, chasing after a heel champ, etc.) otherwise he's kinda bland. If he's perceived as bland, no amount of talent is going to save him (see London, Paul). The only other thing I can see as an alternative is to give a guy a goofy gimmick and hope it sticks (Dinsmore and Brian Kendrick spring to mind). Still though, I don't mind trying to recreate gimmicks as long as they try to update it for the current viewing crowd. Sometimes you just can't recreate it (SCSA, probably Rock), but recycling is okay by me. If it doesn't work, drop it and try something else.

Your Gamecube Game of the Year for 2005

Thanks for the advice Soja, I'll probably have to take it. And to answer your question, no it isn't offered at that point in the game. Might I just reinforce my earlier assertion that that damn reinforced house scene is a HUGE pain in the ass? Let's see how it goes, I guess. Might take a break and go play one of my numerous other games I have yet to beat.

Your Gamecube Game of the Year for 2005

OK, I've gotten a bit further into the game and still enjoying it. Getting quite a bit harder, and ammo is running shorter and shorter (a problem I had with other RE games). Time to go spoiler so I don't ruin anything. I'be gotten past the fortified house (don't get me started on how big a pain in the ass that was) and now have a choice. El Gigante again or the female chainsaw wackos. Gigante squashed Ashley so I'm thinking about just trying to get around the Ganados, but how much damage do they take? I've only got about 15 shots with the shotgun, 50 rounds with the TMP, but plenty of ammo for the 9mm. I'm using a maxed out (as much as I can, anyway) shotgun and Red9 but they take more damage then I can dish out with what I've got left. Any hints would be appreciated.

Your Gamecube Game of the Year for 2005

Well I picked it up to cotinue my GC renaissance (along with Metroid Prime 2 and LOTR: The Third Age). I'm only on section 3 in chapter 1 and I'm pretty well hooked. Just a couple of nagging problems, the main one being the weapon strength. I'm getting headshots like crazywith the pistol and it's still taking me 4 or 5 shots to kill even the normal guys. The only time I'm getting one shot kills is when I blast a guy who's rushing at me. Pretty funny to see some dude rush at me, his head explode, and his body just keeps rolling right past me. I guess hte whole power issue is where the "tweaking" comes in. I spent my money on getting the sniper rifle w/ scope, bigger attache case and treasure map so I haven't tweaked anything yet. The atmosphere is incredible. They did a great job of creating scenes that look like a village mixed with some old school Italian horror movies or something. No real "crapped myself" moments yet, although I did learn the hard way to run like hell when I hear a chainsaw rev up. I've got high hopes for it, I hope it's long enough that I don't feel cheated when it's over.

    And So it Begins

I'm just so unbelievably pissed at the moment that I can't even talk. There's no one, NO ONE, for the Astros to sign anymore and Beltran waited until the very last second to screw us over. I'm going to go play some Rome: Total War and rampage over innocent civilizations.

    LOST

I just wanted to throw something in re: Hurley since I've been avoiding the thread until I could watch the episode. When he was playing backgammon with Walt, he apparently works up a $20,000 debt to the kid. His response? "Yeah, you'll get it." That ot me thinking that he's actually some sort of millionaire (like Bill Gates) and was taking a vacation in Australia incognito. Now that he's on the island, he goes by Hurley because he doesn't want anyone to focus on him as Hugo Reyes and remember that he's some sort of money man. He might think that it would be too distracting to him and everyone around him. So, he's just plain ol' everyman Hurley. As to tonight's episode, I'll take a wait-and-see approach to Sawyer (I acutally said, "When did HE become a good guy?" when he asked Kate if she was all right) and the airplane. I'm betting it'll be some huge plot point in the near future. Next week's episode looks interesting, with Locke going mugger on Boone and Shannon going for a ride.

    And So it Begins

Sorry Beltran, but if it's at LEAST 7 years, $105 million (with a club option that would make it 8 years, $114 million) that has been reported in local news and you don't take it, you suck. I don't blame the Astros for saying "Take it or leave it" because Bore-Ass does this with every client he's got. I know agents are supposed to get every dollar they can, but I don't like having the home team being held hostage by some smarmy lying jackass.

    NFL Awards

Hmmm... Jonathan Vilma 16 games 107 tackles 2 sacks 3 interceptions 1 touchdown 0 forced fumbles Dunta Robinson 16 games 87 tackles 3 sacks 6 interceptions 0 touchdowns 3 forced fumbles When you take into account the fact that Dunta started out the season getting picked on by the entire league and by the end of the season teams were avoiding him and trying to go after a former Pro Bowler and All-Pro in Aaron Glenn, I'd consider that if not "outstanding" then pretty damn close.
