Actually, I think that IF the Astros make the playoffs (no tempting the Baseball Gods) their series with the Dodgers would start on Wednesday. That would let Oswalt go in game 1 on his regular 4 days rest, then come back with Clemens on his 4 days rest. Then Backe (I'd think, since there's no way in hell I'd let Carlos Hernandez or Pete Munro anywhere near the mound in a game situation) in game 3. Again, that's just what I heard. Don't know if that's how it's going down though.

OK the Houston UPN affiliation has some 'splainin' to do. First Veronica Mars, now King of Queens is on. Dammit I wanted some Paul London wrestling!

Also, the Rockets sign Derrick Zimmerman to be training camp fodder, and Ryan Bowen to be the backup 2/3 until Sura gets healthy. I see Van Gundy is going for the most interchangeable team in the NBA. It seems like everyone outside of Yao and Dikembe can play at least 2 positions.

Beat it last night and maxed out my CAW (6'1", 260. Close as I can get to me). Wrestling, with Kickboxing and Submissions as his other styles. By the end of the game I had my speed up to about 90% and was beating the everloving crap out of everyone. I'd hit my first Blazin' in about 30 second, blast the guys with whatever I wanted (still partial to Sean Paul's finisher, but Foot for Breakfast is fun too). Then when I picked them back up (health in the red) I'd fierce grapple, hit the A button, and go to town with a kick/knee series. The opponent is too weak to power out of it, fight's over thanks for stopping by. After the last fight you get a series of challenges that led to one of my funniest gaming experiences ever. I hate coding spoilers so I'll just wait for a while for others to beat it and ask about it before I spoil it. When the game is over you have a TON of development points built up (your last 4 or 5 points all come without a chance to power up BTW, so be prepared) and a lot of very fun Blazin' moves. Particularly the Balls to the Wall. Now I'm just doing random Arena fights to build up money and pimp my boy out with the best bling (still need to get the last necklace and the 6ct. earrings in diamond, got the best bracelet, watch, and ring). I still love it and play it a lot. Highly recommended.

As a helpful hint, get your speed up quick. I was having a problem getting reversed (see above) so I spent a few development points and got 4 or 5 raises into my speed. It makes a HUGE difference. strikes land quicker (I hit 4 hit strike combos fairly regularly now) and I get fewer moves blocked or reversed.

Is Heidenreich supposed to be scary or humorous? I can't figure it out. Hey look Dawn Marie's earning her paycheck for the month.

Well he's not selectable in Story mode (he's your trainer) but he might be available in the single Battles mode. Gotta check that out. The biggest problem I have is that some of the opponents seem to block or reverse EVERYTHING you do. It gets very irritating. Then, when you rematch them, you massacre them. Strange.

Well I never played the first one but got this one on the Box. Is it a wrestling game? Nope not really. Is it a fighting game? Uhhh...kinda. Is it lots of fun? Hell yeah. Graphics are over the top in the EA Big style, and the Blazin' moves are a blast (I recommend Sean Paul's move, the "Street Cred" or something to that effect). The sound is great, although suprisingly the music is often rather muted. Story mode is fun, and it's got HENRY ROLLINS DAMMIT! CAW is rather good, although as has been said, there's no real "moveset" per se, just moves based upon your fighting style. Right now I'm working my way through story mode and I've got Carmen Electra as my, umm, valet (although a couple of the other girls I think are actually hotter), some bling (platinum dog tags and ring), some tats (I'm big on the Celtic designs), and some camo gear I wear to the ring. All in all, a lot of fun and I'm going to be busy between now and November 9th with the new XBox games I have right now (DJV, Slugfest, Fable, Burnout 3, Star Wars Battleground, and Tiger Woods 2005).

I'm going to be kind and say that I'm very "Meh" about that new opening. I hope it's just for the anniversary show.
