I get a smile out of seeing that father/son-esque picture of Bischoff and Nitro at the beginning.

    Jet Li preview HERO question

A friend of mine actually found a region 0 copy and got it so I've seen it. It's an amazing movie. "Ying Xiong" was released in 2002 starring Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Maggie Cheung, and Xiyi Zhang. According to IMDB, QT was actually a producer, although they may just mean he secured the American rights to the movie. I've read that it should be coming out on DVD here in the States fairly soon (I've even seen May, but that's always subject to change). Anyway, the use of color is outstanding, and the story is excellent. The sheer number of extras they used in a couple of scenes is mindboggling for an Asian film that probably didn't have 1/4 the budget an equivalent American movie would've had. If you like Asian movies like CTHD, I for one recommend it.

    NCAA Football 2005 Info

Yeah I remember the ambulance. It was great to see the little players' legs kinda kicking in the air then the ambulance would come out, seemingly run the player over, then pick him up. There's actually a short write up on NCAA in GamePro (just got it today). To wit: "EA Sports' college-football series has so completely dominated the sport that, once again, chief competitor ESPN Videogames won't be making a college game this season. As another season of domination looms, college atmosphere is on of the primary additions to NCAA Football 2005- on a big day, the crowd's cheers and jeers will be monitored, affecting player performance and even you, the gamer, by shaking the camera and rattling your controller. A new "Match- Up Stick" lets you ket in on personnel mismatches and use them to your advantage, and Dynasty mode now factors in elements like player grades and potential transfers to other schools. Gatorade baths for coaches and fan celebrations like the Gator Chomp will also keep the college atmosphere loud and proud." There's also a couple of pictures, mainly a Gatorade bath about to take place and a couple of shots of WRs who can't hear the audibles waving their arms and putting their hands to their helmets. Target release date is July.
  17. No they are still in the boxes from when he bought them and yes the arms and legs are velcroed on the Black Knight. Yup. Mine's still in the box sitting on my bookcase. I'm debating if I should leave it in it's box for the asthetic value or take it out and start reenacting scenes. Decisions, decisions...

I hope they eventually put in the crowd storming the field and tearing down the goal posts after a big win. I think they were going to put it in in '04 but they took it out after the NCAA asked them to because it promoted inappropriate behavior or some such crap. I'd still like to see it though.

    Memorable sports fights

Charles Barkley bodyslamming Shaq. Also there was a brawl a while back (like 1988 or so) between the Astros and Expos. Astros pitcher Danny Darwin nails an Expo (he was called Dr. Death for a reason) and everyone sprints to the mound. And it wasn't your typical baseball "fight", this brawl spread out foul line to foul line and ended up all over the infield. Best memory: Astros kangaroo court judge and pinch hitter Casey Candaele (about 5'6", 150 lbs.) picking up, slamming, and pummelling Expos pitcher and former teammate on the Astros Jeff "Cro-Magnon" Juden (about 6'7", 240). Funniest thing I've ever seen in a fight.

I can't tell if this is heel heat or X-Pac heat. From the spoilers and reports it seems like heel heat but I dunno. Torrie, Indian Princess!

I guess they wouldn't let London do his flipkick. Had to do the dropkick. I don't know why he couldn't do it though, not like anyone saw him on Velocity.

Ya know, he just doesn't really seem Hispanic to me. His Spanish was a bit slurred as well. I get the feeling he's not really "El Gran Luchadore"! Wait, WWE wouldn't LIE to us would they?

BTW I agree with Hood. It's about damn time they threw the Southland Conference into the game. It's one of the best conferences in 1-AA and I've always wanted to take Sam Houston State into the big time. Plus the thought of selling kids on coming to SHSU ("Come to Huntsville and see the prison! We even have a mall too!") is funny. I hope they make the recruiting more in depth too. After a couple of seasons that always ends up being my favorite part of the game. But once you hit 6* rating it kinda takes something away when you get a class of 24 kids and 21 of them are rated as 5* (that's happened to me a lot of times on '04) and you end up cutting a lot of them anyway. Make it more like the real thing where you can redshirt almost all of the freshmen and the cutdown to the 55 man roster comes AFTER the redshirting process. Gives a better flow to your system and doesn't render the entire recruiting process mostly meaningless. Why does it have to be a 55 man roster BTW? This isn't the pros they can fudge a bit on the numbers. It sucks only having one backup guard because, since I run the Run-and-Shoot and West Coast offenses, I carry 6 or 7 WRs on the roster and 2 FBs who I hardly ever use. You oughta be able to cut who you want and not worry as much about positional requirements. If I want 2 speed RBs in the backfield who can't block worth a lick but can catch flares passes that should be the head coach's call.
