    Rudy T Steps Down

Well as a life-long Rockets (and most any other Houston team fan) I have mixed emotions. Rudy has been a visible part of the Rockets for 33 years in various capacities and it's a shame that the end came rushed like this. I hope he's over his cancer and can pick back up in whatever capacity the Rockets have planned for him. On the other hand, the Rockets aren't going anywhere despite the talent and at least a large part of the blame can be placed at Rudy's feet. His rep as a "player's coach" means that he wasn't very good at discipline, a bad thing on a team as young as the Rockets. With the talent the Rocks have they should have been in the playoffs this year at the very least. The fact that they weren't shows that the system we have in place isn't working and a change might have been in order. All in all, a sad day but at the same time an exciting one as a new era begins (new coach, new arena, and new uniforms thank God!).

    Oh Yuna.....

Yeah Bannable they do kinda build up don't they? And they're not even including the FF Tactics titles or X-2 OR the upcoming Crystal Chronicles for the GC. Kinda curious as to how many there are total. BTW Sakura is that Paine in your avatar? Sorry I didn't realize that you were a moderate/big FF fan .

    Most Legendary Multiplayer Game?

Are we talking the P vs. P maps only? Only 2 games I got a chance to play like that were Halo and Red Faction 1. Some of the Halo maps are sweet, and different enough to challenge you in different ways (hiding and sniping on Boarding Action is well nigh impossible in 4 vs. 4 team mode with the guys I play with, they countersnipe the shit outta you). Red Faction was okay, despite the somewhat more limited map choices. I pissed off my best friend because it was his game and I ended up beating him almost all the time on a map with two multi-level bases and a 1 on 1 mode. Geo-Mod was fun when you could arm a missle launcher, blow his base to shit, then pick him off as he ran for cover . As for playing through a game with 2 or more players, never really got into that too much. I don't play well with others, I guess. Halo was the only one since in some parts the game is hard as hell trying to cover your own ass.

    X-Men: Legends Hands-On

Indeed, X-Men 90's cartoon was the best. Jubillee was still annoying as hell, but Gambit and Wolverine made up for it.

your WWE SMACKDOWN WORKRATE REPORT- 5/22/2003!

Good Lord. I mark for old Peanut Butter Cup commercials. Good times, Andrew, good times. *goes back to his phonograph to listen to his Sinatra albums*

your WWE SMACKDOWN WORKRATE REPORT- 5/22/2003!

Tajiri and Eddy = hmmm...Japino Heat? No.... Smark's Wet Dream? No, too insider... Team Transitional Champs? No, there's no one else to transition the belts to. I'm stumped, someone else can come up with a witty name I'm sure.

    X-Men: Legends Hands-On

Well from what I read in GameInformer a couple months ago it looked like the action was real time, not RPG turn based or anything like that. Looked pretty cool, but then so did Wolverine's Revenge. We'll see.

    Kung Faux

Yes it's wierd in a funny way. Listening to rappers dub over kung fu movies is more entertaining then you'd think. It's right up there with Most Extreme Elimination Challenge for guilty TV pleasure.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season 7

THANK YOU!! I knew there was something like that in Angel, but I couldn't remember what exactly it was. Was driving me nuts.

What was the best season ending cliffhanger?

Yeah TNG Borg was a great one. "I am Locutus of Borg. Resistence is futile. Prepare to be assimilated." "Fire." Family had a collective heart attack when the screen blacked out.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season 7

OK first I'm all for Spike coming back. Yes I know he got the emotional sendoff but his greatness must continue. They even covered why he wouldn't find Buffy, since he realizes that Buffy may love him, but isn't IN LOVE with him, if you get my meaning. Now, how they could do it is such: The amulet is called by Angel an amulet of "cleansing" or something about that (never knew for certain, although I liked "amulet of scrubbing bubbles"). It required an ensoulled entity that was more than human. Now, what if the amulet cleanses demonic influences from physical bodies? Since Spike had a soul (a meta-vapire, if you will) the amulet would burn away the physical vampire body, leaving only the spark of humanity imparted on him by a soul. The uber vamps, being pure vampire, would be dusted. Spike himself said once the amulet activated, he could feel his soul. Maybe the amulet interacted with his soul and protected it somehow when the cavern collapsed. This would leave Spike with only his human side. He figures that what is best for him and Buffy is to stay away and continue the fight against evil. Ta da, he shows up on Angel. Then again, maybe I'm overanalyzing and should just wait and see what happens.

Anyone interested in the new Weird Al album?

75 megs...uhh by the time I get it downloaded I'll be buying it. Glad for the early input though. It's a pickup for me definitely, always been a big fan of his. I actually like his newer stuff because it sounds more finished, although the classic stuff (Another One Rides the Bus, etc.) are still greats.

    Enter the Matrix

Well I've actually been waiting for some reviews before I make it a buy or not, so any input on the game are appreciated because everyone seems to be at E3 this time of year and no one is posting reviews. I've heard the control scheme is a bit awkward at points, any thoughts?

    Fox's Fall 2003 line up

Ahhh..Briscoe County Jr. Fond memories of the scifi/western starring the man himself. At this point Fox is among my least favorite networks simply because of all the shows they've gotten rid of (Family Guy, Andy Richter, Fastlane, John Doe) and the ones they've decided to keep on (Oliver Beene, American Juniors). I hope the network execs fall into a vat of acid, get out, and promptly fall into another vat of flesh eating ants.

    Canceled series 2002-2003 season...

The fact that both John Doe and Clone High got axed show that TV execs go into their boardrooms and say "Hmmm...Time to make Victim start thinking he actually knew what he was talking about when he picked his handle". I swear it sometimes seems like they pick a couple shows I set my TV schedule around and cut them just to drive me into dementia. At least Fastlane made the cut so I can still get my Tiffani fix. Edit: GOD-FUCKING-DAMMIT! FOX SUCKS THE SWEAT OFF A DEAD MAN'S BALLS! Ahem.... Now that I've got that out of my system, I would just like to say that Fox needs to rethink their programming when shows like "American Juniors" and "Oliver Beene" gets major network time. Thank you for listening. *apologizes to Mods for his temporary Tourette's Syndrome typing*

The one & only Matrix: Reloaded thread

Thanks mole and Bacchus. Just wanted to show that I was open to discussion on the ending and was willing to listen to reason, as it were. That and it was an way to early in the morning attempt at humor that apparently failed miserably .

The one & only Matrix: Reloaded thread

Well, I managed to get in to the 11 PM showing. And I gotta say that although I'm somewhat dissappointed after all the hype, overall I still liked it. Fight scenes were kick ass, Agent Smith's lines ruled it all, and the freeway scene was amazing. However, being the middle movie of a trilogy, it had to be a plot driven movie. It couldn't dwell on any one thing in particular, it had to connect Matrix with Revolutions. I feel that's why the Brothers had to edit it like they did, kinda jump cutting around so they could cram it all in to 2 hours. Still, they did what they could to make it understandable. Now, my take on the end: Spoiler (Highlight to Read): The Architect (isn't it spelled like that? He did build the Matrix after all) told Neo that this version of The Matrix was as close to perfect as he and The Oracle could create it. Given a choice, 99% of the population would gladly stay in it. However, that 1% "anomally" has to be accounted for, otherwise that 1% would eventually spread into the rest, eventually creating a majority. At that point, the Matrix itself would become unstable. So, to get the 1% out of the way, the machines created Zion for them to "escape" to. Then the machines created the Prophecy, giving the 1% someone to follow (aka, the One). This One would be endowed by the Matrix with the abilities Neo has, thereby fulfilling the Prophecy. However, once the 1% becomes too big for the machines to control, they have to be culled. However, Zion has to still exist in some form for the continual 1% of the population to go to (sort of a holding pen). So, the One is told that Zion will be destroyed and that it is up to them to choose who will rebuild the society (total of 8 men, 16 women. Nice odds). The rest are killed off in the name of efficiency. The 5 Ones before Neo all chose to give up hope and exit out the door to the Source, thereby saving the remnant. Neo chose to reenter the Matrix, and keep hope alive that the machines themselves could be destroyed. When that happened his power over the Matrix's system became tangible in the "real" world, resulting in the EMP'd Sentinels. However, his body wasn't used to the shock, and he went into the coma. OK feel free to it all you want. My head hurts trying to figure it all out at 2:30 in the morning. Best I can do.

The one and only Raw thread 05/12/2003

Well, since I'll be at work as usual I'm going to record it. I'm not holding out interest that it'll be anything more than amusing in a "like watching little kids fall down" sorta way. Painful and you know you shouldn't laugh, but you just can't help yourself.

    NBA Street: Vol. 2

I gotta say that's my favorite Gamebreaker 2. When he bounces the ball down like it's a bounce pass and does the crance stance when the defender looks away is great. The the Off the Heezay and it's in the defender's eye for the 3. Definitely a good moment. I'm doing ok on it, but for some reason I'm stuck on the Be a Legend mode, medium difficulty. it says I've gotten 440 out of 500 and no matter how many pickups I play it won't go up. The only thing I've got locked is the final Rucker Park Court Challenge and it says I need 450 to unlock it. Can't figure out what to do next. And Yao is on my made up team for the NBA challenge. Dude can dunk and blocks everything put up around him, but do NOT let him dribble the ball. I stick him with my made up player (6'10" maxxed out heavy on Blocks, nickname is Poster ironically enough.) to form a wall aroudn the basket. My player and the early Jordan or Steve Francis do most of the scoring.

The one and only NHL playoffs thread

Oddly enough, the Houston Aeros are in the AHL conference finals. Yep the Aeros are lookin' pretty damn tough too. They're #2 seed going into the finals against #1 seed Grand Rapids. Oughta be good since the two nearly split the season series (5-4-1 in favor of GR).

Well, I'll just say that I'm pulling for Minnesota since we have their AHL farm team (go Aeros! Man how lame). So, GO WILD!

    May 20th!

Besides being the day I will have probably seen Matrix for the 3rd time, it's is a day to remember in the music world. Check it out here ! Al is in the house! Start printing up those Grammy awards now, 'cause the MAN is here to kick ass and take names!

    Going to the Chapel

I'd back that Andrew but only problem with that is that if Torrie left, I'd be willing to bet Gail would be stuck on Smackdown wrestling mud matches and "paddle on a pole" matches against Dawn Marie and Nidia from now until their fanbase turns on them completely (i.e. 6-8 months).

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season 7

Anyone get the feeling that when Buffy kisses Angel next week, Spike sees it and gets seriously pissed off? Yes I know Buffy and Angel "belong" together (at least, so says my Angel-defending sister) but Spike bears his soul (pun intended) to Buffy only to see her going off and making out with Angel. Would make for great conflict, if nothing else.

    Angel

Well weren't Joss and crew unsure about the status of the show after this season? If, for some reason, the show didn't get picked up ANYWHERE, it looked like Joss wanted a somewhat happy ending with Connor getting the family he always wanted and the rest of the gang getting to relax kinda and enjoy being the BMOC. However, there's still a LOT of room for charater development for next season as they get used to being the bosses at W&H or break away (as I think they will). Plus, Lilah returning = VERY happy me. Hopefully her return from hell is kind of permanent. Also, Tim Minnear did a great writing job w/ some hilarious one liners. Lilah and Lorne "They knew what they were getting into." "Her STOMACH?" Lorne "Yeah so this is an evil limo I get that but don't you still restock the cherries? *looks up and sees Angel* Hiya!" Lilah "I'm offering you the deal of a lifetime..... *Big dramatic music queue, then silence* Just not mine."
