I don't think it's a matter of CAN'T block as much as he doesn't want to block. The fact that 200 lb. safeties and cornerbacks bounce off him is simply a matter of physics (a 260 lb. TE going full speed is going to deliver a ton of force to a safety turning around off his own man or trying to change direction). I personally think that he's fallen victim to the ESPN syndrome, where guys who make a big deal out of scoring a touchdown or running over some smaller guy gets more TV exposure than the guy who throws a block or seals off a guy at the line of scrimmage to spring his teammate. As far as ROY, yeah he's probably it for the NFC. As much as I'd like to be a homer and say Carr, I'd have to agree and say Portis will get the AFC award. Just too impressive statwise to ignore.

the INVASION had some King Lear undertones to it Yeah I got those too. I didn't mean to turn my message into a "WWE is SHAKESPEARE!" comparison, it kinda just ended up that way after about Vince coming out to cancel TE.

I can see it now. In a couple weeks, the finalists will be sitting at the World on live TV waiting with their families. Al and John come up to the podium talk about how dedicated the kids have been, and how much they've progressed. Al opens the envelope and announces the winners to applause from everyone. Before they even get up to the stage, HHH runs out from backstage and legit Pedigrees them for "stealing his heat". Vince is right behind him and announces that this is the last season of Tough Enough so that they can "protect the business". We then go back to the days of IRS, Doink the Clown, and the Repo Man as Vince sits at the top of Titan Towers moaning. Just to complete the Shakespearean epic, Shane gets sent down to run OVW for daring to tell Vince that Steph, HHH, and Gerwitz are ruining the company.

So people who boo and bitch at heels like Angle and Jericho don't watch TE, and therefore don't know this is all fake?

I also am glad to see the Giants lose. Actually, it wasn't so much the Giants as the aforementioned Mr. Shockey. Like several others, Jeremy strikes me as a huge jackass who can catch the ball and run over DB's who are 40-60 lbs lighter than him, but can't down block a DE or crack a LB to spring someone else. Yes I know he's a rookie and that he can learn these things, but a friggin' Pro Bowl starter should be able to do it already. Plus, his little act about crying because he "doesn't get the ball enough" or "got fouled on the play" gets on my nerves. HEY SHOCKEY YOU'RE A ROOKIE! You're not going to get every call your way, and you're already Kerry's go to guy depsite sharing a sideline with Amani Toomer. Finally, the last 3 minutes of that game is why I tell my teammates (specifically most of the DB's, WR's, and RB's) to shut the fuck up when they make a play or get pissed at someone. You never know when the ref is going to get an itchy trigger finger.

Best/Worst Movie Based on a Video Game
Conspiracy_Victim replied to LaParkaYourCar's topic in Television & Film
I just got Mortal Kombat (the only one worth talking about) on DVD last night from Best Buy (clearance bins rule!). Although the dialogue was predictably cheesy and some of the scenes were lacking a bit (I swear I want to take a baseball bat to those twins that are onscreen it seems like a dozen times doing the same thing: shouting at each other than turning and shouting "Goro!"), I still love the movie. The casting was great with Lambert as a smartass Raiden, Linden Ashby as an even bigger smartass Cage, and some nice eye candy in Bridgette Wilson and Talisa Soto. According to IMBD, Wilson was actually the second choice, with Cameron Diaz originally cast as Sonya. Also some kickass fight scenes, courtesy of fight coreographer and Liu Kang himself, Robin Shou. Reptile vs. Liu still kicks all kinds of ass, although Scorpion vs. Cage was still good in it's own right. On the other hand, I agree that Final Fantasy: TSW (what the hell was THAT?), and Street Fighter (despite having Kylie Minogue as Cammy) were awful. MK: Annihilation wasn't anything to right home about, and I'm not holding out much hope for MK 3: Domination. -
Jimmy, According to the Houston Chronicle, an NBA spokesman said that Yao leads Shaq in "paper ballots", which are only available at NBA games and various sporting goods stores in the US. And, seeing as how Houston is still averaging about 28th or 29th in average attendance, it shows that Yao is popular here in the US as well as overseas. That being said, the NBA needs to reconsider how starters are chosen, seeing all the vote getters that are hurt.

"Shit-load"? Running into a shopping cart, spearing Jericho through the Smackdown set (yes, I loved the Rhyno/ Y2J feud too. Ahh the good 'ol days), and piledriving a woman off the ring apron through a table don't constitute a shit load. Face it, Brock and Rhyno have the same problem: they're only going to be as good as their opponents make them look. With little guys, you get impressive power displays. With hoss on hoss, you get Rhyno and Brock vs. Big Show. BTW Death Angel, Rhyno looks more intimidating than Brock? Brock is 6'4" 290, albeit with a baby face. Rhyno is 280 and barely pushing 6'0". Yes he's thick and I wouldn't want to meet him in an alley, but to say he's more intimdating is subjective.
-
Edge/Rhyno? Eh, it was an ok match, but IMHO (and this is MY opinion), friggin Brock/Buh Buh was almost as good. The fact that Brock (still new to the big leagues at the time) was able to drag a halfway decent match out of BB is amazing.
-
And your basis for that is?? I like Rhyno too, but saying that he's better than Brock is questionable. Because he's had some good hardcore matches (Raven, etc.) doesn't mean he's better than Brock. By the way, when Brock is a power wrestler who doesn't talk, you think he's boring and not worth crap. When Rhyno is a power wrestler who can't talk (apart from cursing and breathing like an obscene phone caller) he's BETTER? Not to start any war, but what makes Rhyno so much better?

I'm praying Simon Diamond comes out on the honeymoon and hits the Problem Solver on Al. Not that I'm any big fan of Simon, I'm just hoping this "angle" ends quickly and is never talked about again. -
Yeah but I hope they just didn't throw those elements in just for the sake of change. I've read somewhere (maybe GameInformer) that the jumping has no penalty for falls (ie no jumping over bottomless pits or anything like that). I suppose that means they can come up with some impressive backgrounds and battle scenarios (I'd like a battle on a cloud covered mountaintop or some lava pit battle maybe?).

Chevy Chase? Oh how about The Three Amigos.

Anthony Michael Hall

Ugh never mind...Harland Williams

I espcially liked when Mitchell said Rock landed a, "Rock Bottom on the champion!"

Actually after comparing the two, I also prefer bald Angle. I forgot, did Kurt just tell the cameraman to "Get the f*** outta my way" when he went to get the chair?
-
Because we all need to get behind HHH since he will lead us out of the wilderness into the wrestling promised land.
-
Sorry I'm still getting over how not 'roided HHH looked during the Owen RAW as compared to today.

Hmmm...Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight. Go a bit offbeat.
