The OaO Raw SPOILER-FREE thread.
Conspiracy_Victim replied to TheFranchise's topic in The WWE Folder
OK Cena what did we learn tonight? Be careful when trying to FU HBK, it's a lot like trying to powerbomb Kidman? Very good, you get a gold star for the day! -

I'll take your word for it. Rockets game is one and I'm only catching snippets of the match. BTW just to clarify, I'm not saying Cena CAN'T control a match. I'm just in favor of Benoit pacing the match if it came down to a choice between the two. -

Maybe with Benoit....and Cena'd have to be the heel. Cena as the heel? Doesn't the heel control the pace of the match for the most part by dominating the middle part of the match? I'd rather have Benoit control the match than Cena. I'd want Cena to cheat his way to an early 2-0 lead and then have Benoit working to fit back and slowly score pinfalls over the rest of the hour, getting the 3-2 lead at around the 48-50 minute mark...and then have Cena go into total desperation heel mode until the end. Cena wouldn't *control* the middle of the match, but it would be more give and take with Cena slowly getting knocked down as time passes. Ah. Point taken I can see that match working. -

I'm glad to see HBK's laid off the artificial tan. Doesn't make me think my contrast is off any more when he's on the screen. -

It looked like about 2/3rds of a Destroyer, but a valiant effort. I thought it was a Code Red. I think it was a Code Red. It just wasn't as clean as it could have been. Looked more like an incomplete CD, but a Code Red is more logical. -

Congratulations Robbie. You've spent years honing your craft and becoming as good at it as possible. Your reward? You get to get squashed by the boss' son. Edited for crappy grammar. -

Nope, haven't read any spoilers either. Going to be switching between RAW and the Rockets game in half an hour. DVR is a wonderful thing. -
It would be funny if all this turned out to be RVD's idea to get Punk to join the NB to act as a mole and create chaos in the group until it falls apart from the inside out. Then at the big blowoff Punk turns on the NB and helps the Originals destroy the faction. RVD goes all "Bond villain" on us and cuts a huge promo about how the NB was Vince's idea on how ECW SHOULD be, and how the Originals are what ECW IS, and how Punk represents the true future of ECW: someone who's different from most of society (like the Originals) but has the talent to go as far as he wants in the world of WWE. He then puts over Punk as someone who can carry a promotion if given the chance and how he can be a franchise player. I have reservations about RVD's ability to cut a promo like that in a completely serious tone (in this case his character works against him) but it could be awesome if pulled off correctly.

I can't get hammer ons or pull offs to work when I want them to, but I putting it down to lack of experience. It's killing me on the fretwork heavy songs late in the game. BTW, before I get to Hard difficulty, how are you supposed to hit the orange button? One would think you'd slide the pinky down to hit it, but that would make any sort of orange/blue combo impossible. If you shift your whole hand down it would throw me way off. Or, I could just put it in my lap and try it out as a slide guitar. That might actually be interesting.

This game is eating all my spare time. I'm still working on medium and doing fairly well (4 and 5 stars on almost everything so far) and I've bought all the songs. It's one of those games where you go "I can do better with one more run through" and the next thing you know it's 2 hours later and you have no idea what happened. That and I can't figure out the best way to position the guitar. I can't find the best way to position my left hand without holding my wrist in a very awkward position.

Man she hit the "old and busted" stage quick.

Well, I've 4 and 5 starred everything on Easy difficulty on GH2, so without thinking about it I bump up to Medium difficulty without trying anything out in Practice mode. I click on Surrender and manage to make it about 45 seconds in before I bottom out. I wasn't used to having to use my pinky on the blue button, and the chord work was a helluva lot more prevalent. I don't even know how you're supposed to hit the orance button once it comes in to play. Looks like I get to start all over. I practiced it a few times and got up to about 86% so I think I'll be ready to start a career on Medium tomorrow. The rather substantial jump in difficulty surprised me.

This seemed a LOT like a series finale, but they did a good job of leaving a window for Taylor to realize that high school is where he should be coaching, he can't leave his family in Dillon, etc. and come back. Man, the radio guys turned on him awful quick, didn't they? They extol his virtues and how he helped "heal the town" then turn right around and call him an opportunist because he's taking a job at a D1 college.
