The Broncos (and, by extension, Kubiak) don't use high draft picks on running backs. However, if AP is available at 8 I don't see how they don't at least write his name on a card and tell the runner to be ready to send it up if the clock runs down. I'm pretty sure the coaching staff is high on Chris Taylor, but let's face it, he's an undrafted FA with decent size and decent speed, but doesn't stand out in either. Ron Dayne is, well, Ron Dayne. Walli Lundy is a small back who doesn't have breakaway speed. The Texans basically just lack the guy who can be the "home run" guy out of the backfield, the big play guy. Personally, I think the Texans would be better served spending the pick along the lines. If no one grades out that well (or guys like Joe Thomas and Alan Branch are gone) I wouldn't mind seeing AP wearing a Texans cap.

The problem is that that's not how the E "braintrust" is apparently seeing this. Instead, you've got Stephie, Arn, and Finlay claiming that he's not over (despite evidence to the contrary), his finisher isn't any good, and have apparently decided for whatever reason that he's going to be 'put in his place' and jobbed to Holly, a company man. And now, through no fault of his own, Punk is on the outs with some of the more influential members of the company's staff. Basically the opposite of what you (and most other sane people) would think if we were put in the same position. Just another case of the WWE listening to it's fanbase.

It's weird that I don't get any hard sell from the Gamestop by my house. It's always the same 3 guys in the store and they just give the usual "looking for anything in particular?" when I wander around, ask if I want to subscribe to GI when I first check out, and wish me well when I leave. Nothing about reservations, no screaming about 360 vs. PS3 vs. Wii, nothing. They just sit up at the cash register and debate the relative merits of games and act like a slightly less nerdy Comic Book Guy. It feels more like a local store than a big chain.
