If Ole Miss would have beat Georgia, maybe, but I would raise hell like it was nobody's business if I was Georgia, you can't just award an auto bid once you started the conference tourney. Its funny I thought "how the hell could they PPD due to weather?". My question was immediately answered once I saw the highlights. Logistics can be done, its the fact that a team would have to play twice in one day is the problem.

I don't even know if a loss would knock them out. Who is the worthy team ahead of them? Arizona State? Oregon? Ohio State? All of them have their flaws and I cannot say that any of those teams are ahead of them. And they all lost in their first tournament games like UK potentially could.

Is it safe to say that the biggest winner of the day was VCU?

I don't think Dayton does. The 14-1 start was great, but the 7-9 finish will look ugly. They haven't looked bad without Chris Wright (2nd best player, lost for the year on Jan 8th v. Rhode Island), but I just think their bad losses (@La Salle, Duequesne, @GW) will sink them. La Salle and Duequesne were both solid programs this year and not the fodder they are mostly thought as, but I just don't think an NCAA tournament team loses all three of those games. But I think they are more worthy than teams like Illinois State, New Mexico, UAB, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Ole Miss and Ohio State. The RPI and SOS helps them, the eyeball test hurts them.

I know that the last projection posted was before the 2 big losses today, but no way Illinois State should get in after the performance Sunday. That coupled with no wins with any real meat sealed their fate. I am rooting for Temple to make a big run in the A-10 tourney. I am a Dayton homer, and although injuries and the inability to beat mediocre teams on the road sealed their NIT fate, I think the A-10 is not getting as much respect as it deserves. 1-11 are all respectable teams (which is different than the previous 3-5 years).

VCU, the #1 seed in the Colonial Athletic Association lost to William & Mary in the CAA semifinals. They will be on the bubble, and a loss before the CAA Finals may hurt them.

Big wins by both Kentucky and Ohio State in the nooner games. I would be shocked if Kentucky does not get in now. Ohio State, I would not say they have work to do, because I think they could lose to MSU on Friday and still get in based on what other teams may do in conference tourneys.

I bought this book at a church garage sale for three bucks. Conroy, who wrote The Great Santini and The Prince of Tides was a Point Guard at the Citadel in the mid-60's. Really good read, although depressing at times. A person coming to the end of their athletic career will be able to relate to his tale.

IF, IF thats true, then Marvin needs to go. If that did happen Chad should have been sent home, instead he went out and played in the second half. What kind of message does that send to the rest of the team? I am skeptical because Shaun Smith is a BIG shit-talker (and Hamburglar), but I would agree to that he does not have a lot of incentive to lie. The swing at Hue Jackson was pretty much know by most.

Ahh Robert Swift, was there a worse lottery pick ever? And how about the fact Seattle went Petro, Sene, Swift in three straight years? I would never believe they haven't made the playoffs since! -
With the 46th pick in the TSM-NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select: Erin Henderson/LB/Maryland The Bengals went with BPA in the first round with Ryan Clady, so now they have to address the defensive side of the ball. Roger Goddell hates Odell Thurman and pretty much every LB missed at least 2 games last year with injuries, so I think Henderson will be a good pick. I would have liked to grab a DT here, but I do not think there was a good value pick at this point.

Is this correct, I saw it on the bottom line during the Santa Clara-Gonzaga game. Lowry IP, 0H, 4ER, 9BB 9BB in one inning of pitching?!! There is no way that is right, correct?

Is it pretty safe to pencil in Taker-Henry for next week? Is inducting Mae Young really a good idea? I think her speech could become painful to watch.
-
I agree about the part with Dookie, its seems like it could be a parallel of Bubbles life. Seeing him go out on the streets and the people in the stables shooting up. Bubbles speech was awesome. Not really a spoiler, but a comment on the preview for next week:

Syracuse just horrible, HORRIBLE ending yesterday. The thing is, with the way bubble teams are not distinguishing themselves, they still have a decent shot. Teams that I think put themselves in the past three days: USC, Mississippi State, Arizona State, Pittsburgh Biggest game of the day will be UCLA at Arizona. Zona probably cements their status with a win, but I think UCLA is too talented and deep.

Yeah that was some performance by Harangody. I said it about 2 pages ago and I will say it again, I think the difference between the last 6 at-large teams in at the last 4-6 out will be very minimal. Which I think will be beneficial to the big conference schools.
-
The Big 12 is a bit of a mess right now, with Kansas State and Texas A&M forgetting how to win conference games. BTW apparently the Oregon jerseys were a fashion statement and not punishment. Yuck.
-
I believe the black jerseys are in response to the teams poor play as of late. Ernie Kent had "taken away" the last names for the USC game on Thursday night. I don't know if he'll have a "white out" on the home jerseys. I think it has to say the teams name on the jersey, hence the "black on black".

Alright, I will throw out the next question. 2 or 3 years down the road, you are an AD at a lower level D-I school, would you consider hiring Kelvin Sampson? -
Its funny how split the Indiana faithful are right now. Some are mad at the players for missing practice, some are mad at the AD for hiring Sampson, and some are mad at espn.com for utilizing the the Freedom of Information Act in Indiana Law that enabled them to see the letter outlining the violations.

I gotta think that if Mendenhall and Stewart did go past 20, teams would be getting on the phone quickly to move up.

With the 9th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select: Ryan Clady/OT/Boise State The Bengals were shocked to see 4 DLinemen off of the board after the first eight. They would have loved to snag Dorsey, Ellis, Long or Gholston. While Derrick Harvey and Keith Rivers were available, the Bengals chose to go best player available. Willie Anderson onlt played 5 games last year, so the Bengals are looking to re-build their O-Line which struggled last year with Anderson's injury and Eric Steinbach going to Cleveland.

I think the "throw down" part fit well with the Superman theme. BTW, as mentioned earlier Barkley was gold. Kenny Smith "Magic go whisper in Dominique's ear that wasn't a 10." Barkley: "Magic go over and slap Karl Malone in the back of the head. Don't worry I got your back."
