Lidge also pitched 3 innings in Game 6 of the NLCS last year. And they would have to run out of pitchers before Clemens would come in.

My thoughts from tonight's game: - I am getting tired of Fox talking about the dimensions of Minute Maid park. Sure I wasn't happy seeing Berkman's 3 run HR, but its not like the walls get moved back for the Cards when they bat. - While I do think the Cards can come back and win the series, I think they'll be nail biters. Opposing pitchers usually feed off of each other in the playoffs. If one has his stuff and is moving at a good pace, I think the other will follow suit. - As a Cards fan, Berkman is slowly turning into a 2004 version of Carlos Beltran to me, he makes me nervous everytime he steps up to the plate. - Jim Edmonds is hitting the ball better the last two games than he did the first three, he will be a key in Game 6. When he bats in front of Pujols it seems like he focuses more on making contact instead of swinging for the fences. - Thank you Albert Pujols.

Yes, when you haven't lost for 2 1/2 years in my opinion you do get as much hype as you can get. It is two-fold too though because the media knows how big of a story it will be when they lose.

Max, how do you really feel about Ulf?

What can I say, I am a special ed teacher, we didn't have a comprehensive screening to get our job. I agree that Carr is not the problem, but you know the nature of the NFL, especially with what 10 of the last 12 drafts having a QB go #1. I guess another good question would be if Capers makes it the whole year. I would guess yes because they already have gone through their bye week.

Nah, Mack Brown would pimp up Colorado-Missouri-Nebraska-Kansas State or whoever they play in the Big 12 title game to sway some votes. I guess there is no point to get excited on October 14th, but it would be great to have USC, Texas, VA Tech & Florida State all be undefeated going into that ACC title game. I just would be surprised if FSU will be by then.

This can probably go here since it is NFL talk, but if the Texans end up with the worst record in the NFL this year, do they throw a grenade on the David Carr era, and try to pick up Leinhart if he is still the consensus #1 or trade it away to the many possible suitors to stockpile draft picks? Of course 2nd-4th place in the NFC North could go 1,2,3.....

Much like Game 1, could the St. Louis Cardinals pitchers please get a lead-off man out? Bit them in the ass last night. Game 3 should be pretty good, and I think both teams are gonna give Morris & Clemens a tough time.

Well I have to agree with the crowd here, ab-fab episode tonight. I kept waiting during the beach party scene for something bad to happen to foreshadow next week. I also love how they transition from the original survivors and Michael, Jin & Sawyer. I also think they won't reunite with Jack & Co. for a long time and I think that will make for some interesting shows. I never thought about the connection with Libby & Michael if its there. The look on Michael's face when he saw the rest of the survivors was great too, very chilling.

Pretty good win by the Cards tonight. Carpenter pitched well and some usual late drama by Izzy. The only problem I saw was that Houston's lead off men kept getting on base. Sooner or later that may hurt you. I don't know if tomorrow is do or die for the Astros yet.

Well as a Cards fan I'd like a 4 game sweep, but I think the Cards will take it in 6 games. I think the Astros win 2 games in Houston. I agree though that the loss of Alan Reyes will be big in this series.

Astros-Cards Pt.2

I just got back from a 5 mile run, left in the 15th inning because it was cutting too close to the start of the Bengals game........ I guess I got the best of both worlds. (Still able to see the end of the game) As a Cards fan, obviously I would love to see them play all night, but I would like to see the Braves win just to see how the matchups would be for Game 5.

Any early prognosis on Roy Williams' leg?
-
Bring Lidge in the 10th, let him pitch 2 innings, and this series is over.
-
Sorry about the E. Picks, I will have my picks in for Week 6 by Wednesday, I swear!!!!!
-
Well, for some reason my DVR taped tonight's replay and the trailer at the end was different than Wednesday's episode and it revealed more regarding Michael, Jin & Sawyer.
-
Tampa Bay & Cincinnati can only win the games that are in front of them. No apologies that the NFC North is shitty. Of course I may be a little biased towards the Bengals.
-
Has Renteria set a new record for number of consecutive series ended by a hitter? And almost right back to the pitcher to boot.

Could be, I was thinking along those lines too. I think maybe his watch may have triggered the crash, but that's just my crazy 1% chance crackpot theory. Perhaps he was not apologizing to his father in his flashback of who he had become, but what he still had to do. I agree though, if he really does speak English, that is something I would want to wait to see during the episode, but I'll be damned if I won't be thinking about it all week!
-
Yes, he was, and that intrigues me more than anything else for next week's episode. Is it just me too, or does it seem that someone we haven't seen in a long time is in the trailer for next week investigating the food pantry?

Astros over Braves in 5. (I'm thinking this will be the best series of the first round, the Braves better not let Lidge get into the game) Cardinals over Padres in 4. (I'd go for the sweep, but I'm pretty sure Matt Morris is pitching on the road.....although Petco might keep his curveballs in the park.) Yankees over Angels in 5. (For fans of the Angels & White Sox, you'll like these picks, because I have ZERO confidence in the AL series!) Red Sox over White Sox in 4. (I think these two teams are very evenly matched, but I just don't think the Red Sox will lose at home and they just have too many bats.) Basically I'm picking 2004 LCS Re-deux.
