    Top 10 Daytona 500's

I still got Tony Stewart winning tomorrow, but it would be sweet if Martin came back from 32nd to win the race. Will tomorrow's race be the 3rd in three days to win on a yellow flag?

    The NFL Offseason/Pre-Draft Thread

While I won't call him garbage, (I'd take him over Schobel/Stewart/Kelly trio) if his couple of injury filled seasons is more standard then exception it should be a warning sign. However, it seemed like Eli likes him a lot as a target, so it might be wise to keep him.

    LOST

Well after weeks of over-analyzing the previews for the next shows, they threw some curveballs in the one for this week's show. I liked how they all have the guns back in one spot, although I'm sure at the next point of conflict the briefcase will go missing, which will create a good future storyline. Once again, I am impressed how they could make an episode that revolved around very few people, while giving little nuggets at the end, that will have to do with future episodes. (Michael working on the boat, Jack-Sawyer hinting at Jack's Dad) This will keep the show fresh in the long run. From what next week's episode preview shows, apparently "they" don't want the survivors off of the island. My question is, will they be bold and have some of the people actually "leave" the island and essentially the show by trying to leave via Michael's boat.

    LOST

I was torn with this episode, so I had to use the DVR to check out parts a second time. (Best invention ever.) Pro's - I thought Jack's character was awesome in this episode. He was level headed in his debate about using the guns, yet was brutally out of character when he kept beating the shit out of Ethan. (Did anybody else think at first Jack was going to kill him with his bare hands? I did for a brief moment.) - Locke. Damn every scene he is in, I am over-analyzing what his intentions are. Anybody get the idea that Locke is doubting whether Boone is "strong enough" in his eyes? -Delegation of who gets the guns. I liked how they were rational and did not give Charlie a gun, and determining who got the fourth gun. - The Charlie-Ethan scene at the early part of the show was awesome, as was Ethan's promises to Charlie. Con's - I thought the death was like ones out of Oz. Introduce the man, kill him immediately. Although we didn't even know much about him. It's hard to care about a death if you don't know the person. However, it was necessary because it was part of Ethan's plan, since his goal was to kill everybody until he got Claire. - Did Kate really need to go with the other 4 who had guns? I have not seen all the episodes in chronological order, but if that was the gun Sawyer used to kill the polar bear him having it shouldn't have been a big revealation. - I was hoping they could slow build up to the ramifications of different people with different agendas having guns, but it looks like from next week's preview its gonna start. - I kinda of wished Ethan was still alive and on the hunt for next week, but I guess he was "just a patsy for the man."

    Most Disturbing Image

The whole last 10 minutes of Requiem of a Dream. Don't do drugs. And in 28 Days Later when Jeremy Sisto(?) or whoever the main character is kills the one guy by jabbing his thumb into the soldier's eyes. Maybe its the fact that he was the hero in the movie and he kills him in such a graphic way.

    NFL Free Agent List

Kyle Richardson P UFA Rudi Johnson RB UFA Kenny Watson RB UFA Nate Webster LB UFA Frank Chamberlin LB UFA Jerry Fontenot C UFA Carl Powell DL UFA Rich Braham C UFA T.J. Houshmandzadeh WR UFA Tony Williams DT UFA Kyle Richardson, Jerry Fontenot, and Tony Williams are gone, Williams due to the contract number he would probably take up, and Langston Moore has emerged as a starting DT. Rich Braham will be back on a one year deal, Nate Webster and Frank Chamberlin will be re-signed. Carl Powell, if he'll take a pay cut. Now the two that are important to Bengals fans; T.J. Houshmandzadeh & Rudi Johnson. T.J. will be back if the Bengals give him a respectable deal. Marvin Lewis loves him, as evidenced in 2003 when he played only one game, and he wasn't released, plus Bengals management is not sold on Peter Warrick coming back to 100%. If I had to guess, Rudi will be back, unless some team wants him more than I can believe. If a team breaks the bank on a signing bonus that may be the straw, as the Bengals don't love signing bonuses.

    Jose Canseco Book

Al, did Canseco play with Sammy Sosa in Texas, or was Sosa not there yet? When I heard the rumblings on Mike & Mike I thought it was either Clemens or Sosa. I think the comparisons of this to McCarthyism is accurate.

    Corey Dillon article

This was written by Paul Daugherty who has covered the Bengals during Corey Dillon's time with the Bengals. I am a huge Bengals fan, and I have no problem with the Patriots and Corey Dillon's success. I just felt like the ESPN article was a little biased. We never met this guy Patriots 'team player' never showed face as Bengal By Paul Daugherty Enquirer staff writer The revisionist paint job on Corey Dillon is getting a little thick. If the New England Patriots return to the Super Bowl in 16 days, Dillon will be part halfback, part Dalai Lama. The notion that CD cured all of his personality ills by leaving the Cincinnati hellhole for the paradise of a Boston exurb is getting maximum run. It's a good story. All this time, we here in Loserville thought CD was a pouty locker-room wrecker just because, well, just because that's who he was. Some babies are born with hair. Corey Dillon was born with anger. As a Bengal, Dillon rode permanent shotgun on the last train to Jerkville. It was, we thought, a personality trait. Boy, were we dumb. Actually, Corey was just a frustrated young man who needed only the sunshine of winning to bloom and re-emerge as the Prince of New England. Corey Dillon, prince. Who knew? Dillon's not the player who threw his shoulder pads into the stands after the last game of Cincinnati's 2003 season, who declared "it's all about me," who said he'd rather flip burgers than play for the Bengals. (That last sentiment came in the midst of a contract negotiation, by the way, not because of Chronic Losing Fatigue. Just to be, you know, accurate.) Dillon's not that guy. He's Mr. Touchdown. He's Mr. Team. He's not the guy who a few years ago winged his Ohio driver's license at a clerk at a drive-through convenience store because the kid had the nerve to ask him for identification. "Don't you know who I am?" Dillon asked. The clerk didn't. Evidently, none of us did. We didn't understand him. Corey Dillon doesn't think the world is out to get him. He isn't the guy who stiffed the media and his coaches the day he was drafted, so offended was he to have been picked in the second round. He's the Sunshine Man, a real Team Guy. A "classy dude," in the words of the Patriots' Rodney Harrison. It's great that Dillon has found his inner bliss in New England. Patriots coach Bill Belichick has a habit of teaching team football and getting everyone to play nice together. Dillon has adapted well. Good for him. But c'mon. "This is about losing and how it can ruin a man," notes a recent ESPN the Magazine CD story. That would be true if Dillon had jumped off the plane in Cincinnati humming a happy tune, but he didn't. It's amazing he did so well here, considering he had to carry the football and the boulder on his shoulder. Dillon showed up with an attitude. It helped define him as a runner. He ran mean. Losing didn't help his disposition. It didn't help anyone's disposition. To hear Dillon, Dillon was unique in feeling losing's dull, aching pain. He was special. If Dillon were so consumed with losing, if he were so eager to win, why did some of his classic gripes come in his last season here, when the Bengals finished 8-8 and went into the last regular-season Sunday still in playoff contention? Mr. Winner bailed just when winning was poised for a comeback. If losing were so cancerous to his spirit, how come Dillon's best year as a Bengal was 2000, when the team finished 4-12? What ate at Dillon was Rudi Johnson. What ticked him was the notion, held by some in power, that he was past his prime. What riled him was a coach who stood up to him. Dillon made up stuff about the offensive line not wanting to block for him. He decided Marvin Lewis was "messing" with him by asking him to talk with the media during training camp in 2003. He called Willie Anderson a "bum." Anderson is a very good player and an even better human being. Dillon, in comparison, is a cardboard box. Mr. Winning didn't pull for Johnson because the Bengals were winning with Rudi in the backfield. He rooted for Rudi because he knew the better Rudi played, the more expendable Dillon would be. "Rudi was my ticket out," Dillon said. "He was the face of the franchise," ESPN the Magazine claims. Not exactly. Dillon was its best player. The face is out there through bad and badder. Dillon was the face when he had a complaint he needed to air. And so on. Congratulations to Corey Dillon, Team Guy. Never heard of him.

Rudy Tomjanovich to resign after tonight's game

While I think Shaq was selfish for not getting the surgery until September, if you're overweight and have a bad big toe, you're gonna be out of commission. Admitting to the world you cheated on your wife doesn't take balls. Kobe was trying to salvage some of his image. Confirmed Adulterer > Alleged Rapist

    And So it Begins

This is like high school girls fighting. I could say A-Rod is whining, but Schilling was still talking about how classless A-Rod was even after that Series is over. I think there has to be weekly soundbites in the off-season between the Red Sox & Yankees because the media certainly does not talk about them enough.

    Inauguration funds: A better use?

They should pass the hat at one of their screw-the-poor meetings. I'm sure Cheney could spot a $10, or $10,000,000... "You know I'd love to pay, but I think I left my wallet at home."

    What's wrong with...

I don't think Spree and Cassell are fully committed since their contract extensions are still pending. They need to realize that they have maxed out how much they'll ever make per year, but if they bust ass and go deeper into the playoffs, they can make it harder for Minnesota to part with them.

    Corey Dillon article

I will not argue that he is a warrior, he plays on attitude and with a chip on his shoulder, always has. He had his chance to leave Cincy back in 2000, but he stayed for the 28 million dollars. He knew full well that the Bengals were at the time the worst structured and organized team in the league. And that wasn't going to change when the new coach kept getting hired from within. Geoff Hobson of bengals.com has a more balanced article about Corey Dillon. It talks how the Bengals are split on their stance of CD's success, but most would rather see someone happy, if he really was pissed last year. What do you guys think about the actual trade; Dillon, 29 for the 56th? overall pick. I don't see how this was the worst trade ever (Shannon Sharpe). It was a great move by the Pats and the Bengals got a second round pick, when considering his age at running back, is a pretty good deal. Plus Madieu Williams ended up being one of the Top 5 defensive rookies.

Maddox may have been exempt for awhile though due to the severity of his injury (at the time) against the Titans.

    Corey Dillon article

I think Daugherty is more upset with the media coverage and portrayal Dillon is getting. On the Dillon ESPN article I'll say this, it was wrong of Bengals management if someone leaked that as a group they thought he was "washed-up" and then deny it happened when confronted by Corey.
