    MLB Mid-season Awards

How close do you guys think Ivan Rodriguez will get to the AL MVP. Top 5? Top3? If he wins the batting title and hits about 25 HR's and 100 RBI's that is a formidable season. Then add in the fact the Tigers will probably finish around 70-75 wins should that factor in as well versus their 43 last year. This is what I do not like about MVP voting, the voter can't ever seem to make up their mind on what the criteria is. Oh well makes for good debate I guess.

    Vengeance card

So for the PPV coming up on Sunday we have: Chris Benoit v. HHH (World Title) Randy Orton v. Edge (I-C Title) La Resistance v. Eugene & Ric Flair (World Tag Titles) Matt Hardy v. Kane (No DQ Match) Chris Jericho v. Batista While this is a pretty good card, I can't imagine they can carry 2 1/2 to 3 hours on these five matches, unless they plan about half an hour of Eugene-HHH backstage segments. But really what else can they add? Or will they just go the SD! route and just add matches for no real rhyme or reason? The only thing I can think of just from this past week is another Tajiri/Coach match after what happened this week. Perhaps a thrown together womens match?

    Cameo/Guest Shots

I think awhile ago I saw a thread similar to this, but I did not find it in the archives. I had to write about this because I saw it last night on Family Ties. Tom Hanks, as that dastardly drunken' Uncle Ned. Complete with Hanks drinking vanilla extract since he was out of booze, being drunk for his job interview, and an open hand slap on Michael J. Fox that not only knocked him to the ground, but also two feet off the ground. Great cheesy stuff, what are some other of your favorites of guest appearances?

    Cameo/Guest Shots

And all of you conservatives who said Joh Kerry has no charisma, my TV was bleeding charisma from his spot on Cheers last night! Truly the epitomy of pointless cameos.

    NBA Offseason News and Moves

This could be a smart move by the Cavs, pick up cap money for future space. Like the other poster said, Cleveland needs cap space sooner, rather than later so they can sign some big time FA's before LeBron's rookie deal ends and they lose much space. Of course this "smart move" is following a terrible one which will ultimately lose Carlos Boozer.

I would really be surprised if Boozer leaves Cleveland. It seems like he'll be content in Cleveland since he will be a 15-10 guy in Cleveland as long as he's there.

    The Next Film Legends

True, but as I said, "on the rise". He has been fortunate working with great casts, but I think many times he has outshined some of the others film's stars. Will that translate to carrying a film instead of the supporting roles? Maybe/maybe not.

Great photo of Okafor. This may not be the best team we could field, but I am pretty excited to watch this team.

    NBA Offseason News and Moves

Great move by the Suns. Reportedly they could have had TMac for Shawn Marion, Joe Johnson & the no. 7 pick. Phoenix balked because they did not want to trade Joe Johnson their 2 guard. So why do they try to spend 50 million on Q?
  10. Hell show the whole 1998 Road Wild card, because it is so hard to rate what shit is worse. How about the Steamboat-Austin match from the Clash in 1994. If that's on there I may get the Summerslam one. Great idea by the WWE, but I can't justify spending 35 bucks for something that I cannot tape/record. (I hope Interpol is not reading this....)

    Ahmed Johnson...

If Ahmed didn't get injured in 1997, the Rock may have never joined the Nation....

Damnit I forgot about the Diva search, yeah, they'll be 5 matches and one may have to be cut!

    This Week In Baseball

Well I love the Cards, but I can't say the Cubs are out yet. They have 8 straight home games after the break, so they may gain some ground. One other reason I think the Cubs are still in is the fact that every team in the Central seems to get up for each other so gimme games against Pittsburgh and Milwaukee in August may not be the gimme's anymore.

Sorry THEY all look the same.

Is it really that much of a debate about Cheney won't be the VP? I understand the thinking he may be a detriment to the GWB campaign, but Bush is loyal and sticks to his guns, so I would be shocked if he went with someone else.

    NBA Offseason News and Moves

Well, I thought it was good getting Okur, until I saw the price tag. I am not really surprised by this as it seems the Jazz will outspend one way or another to lure in some FA's. Last year, they tried for Andre Miller, Brad Miller, Corey Maggette, and Jason Terry. All were matched. I am not thrilled with the years, but Utah has to get some people into SLC.

    This Week In Baseball

I think trading Beltran would be a PR disaster for the Astros, however if they do it will be an 11th hour trade.
  18. I was at Bad Blood in Columbus and the Raw in Dayton too. We got out pretty quick during the Raw, but I know after Bad Blood there were security guards in a few spots that would not let people stand in certain areas.

    Vengeance card

Yeah I think Benoit-HHH can go about 40+, but I just hope if they stick with 5 matches they don't drag out the tag title match and Jericho-Batista too long. And the 5 current matches will be entertaining so at least the problem isn't only a few matches announced and are crappy to boot.
  20. We talked to Jamie Noble in a concession line at an HWA show back in 2002, and he talked for about 10-15 minutes. Sylvan Greiner thought me and my friend (who works for the AFL team in Columbus) were working with catering for Badd Blood as he told us that we "did a great job tonight, excellent food." So I guess he qualifies as being cool.

What kind of shape are you in?

Exponential improvement. Keep up the good work. What's your trick? no trick really. i just eat less, and lift weights. nothing much. and this is over a period of a year and a half. still got a long way to go, tho. thanks, Hoff. Keep working hard, you'll get there!

What kind of shape are you in?

5"11 and 207 lbs. I am trying to get back down to 185, and I lost 6 pounds of "fat guy sweat" this past week, now I really have to work hard. Even at 207 I don't look bad, just need to harden the man boobs, and lose the love handles.

    The Next Film Legends

I think Jude Law is on the rise too. I guess his next 2 or 3 leads will provide better insight, but his characters have been good in supporting roles.

Very well put especially the last paragraph. If Kerry was going to win, you would think the negative publicity Bush has had lately Kerry would be rolling but he's in neutral. I don't think you can say this election will be closer than 2000, but hell yeah it will be close. I don't really care who wins ( I will vote though ), it just seems there will be so much partisan gridlock in the next 4 years anyway.
  25. I guess I would go with Nathan Joens v. Ted Arcidi. I can't believe Arcidi hasn't showed up yet, what a roided-up, talentless piece of shit.
