Their fourth overall draft pick is also better than Toronto & Vancouver.

The only thing that is not believable is that the city will only pay 30 million for that new ballpark. 30 million = 50 to 60 million

The Cards pitcher apparently had a noticeable spot of pine tar on his hat, so any manager with 1/2 a brain *should* ask to have it checked. Then LaRussa decides to get petty by having Burrell's bat confiscated (despite Pat being 0-4 at that point, not to mention only having a few HR's total for the season). Oh no doubt, it was not "apparent", it looked very questionable, and I am a Cards fan.

Nothing, probably. I hope the T-Wolves win so they can act like they won the Championship... It will be like when Portland beat Utah in the second round in 1999 4-2. Every Blazer running around with their jerseys off dancing on tables, etc. They were swept by San Antonio in the Western Conference Finals.

You better see me before that, hippie, if you want to keep your Jets franchise with my league, of which you are the champ of -- signups will be sooner than later... I meant in Current Events, I read a lot of these threads in CE, to read the banter back and forth. I am so in the middle though I tend to agree with both sides on some viewpoints. There is only one thing I think we can all be united in, F*ck Middletown!

Yes, thanks for bailing the Cards out Edmonds, and thanks for the extra four innings Izzy. Interesting gamesmenship between LaRussa & Bowa today.

Damn that would be a cool job to have, why was that not posted on Monster?

Pardon me for getting in between this poitical thread, but I would like to know who is "heroic or does noble deeds in IndyMedia's eyes. If a businessman donates 15 million dollars to help their "cause" or "fight" and some of these profits come from the fact that has sweat shops or moves jobs out of the country, how is that really any better? Well just my two cents, I will see you all two weeks before the election.

Yeah if they would have added on an extra 20 minutes entitled: "Austin Beats up People", it would have the same effect of Austin's last two months.

Just trying to work in the fan interference during that match.

Maybe the winning brand could get to send one of their wrestlers over to challenge for the other's world title at Summerslam. They don't even have to win, but if they are worried about not having viable challengers for Eddie at Summerslam it could be an out to get some Raw wrestler over there for a one shot deal.
-
Eddie insulted the Edmonton Oilers, and Canada in general, thus pissing off RVD. Dumb inference aside, I couldn't agree more, what can they really do besides Eddie-RVD? I assume Kurt's condition will be upgraded to living for his big showdown with Big Show at Summerslam. I guess it all is speculation since each brand has 2 PPV's before Summerslam.

I agree with both sides, due to continuity and promos it has been the best feud of the year, however it was boring in the stance that it was essentially HHH-Foley 2000, and Orton always got the upper hand. After seeing many of those Kid Kash v. Legends in TNA, DO NOT line up other legens for Orton to "kill". The matches will be so bad, the effect of Orton beating them will not be greater than the crowd's disdain for the matches.

I have a few theories, first that the passing game has changed, the downfield passes have slowed down, and teams rely more on short passes and letting the WR's create. And most QB's even backups, or not highly regarded ones can make these passes. Also speed of LB's has changed the game as well. They are too fast and can recover quicker so we do not see as much passing over the middle. I think the reason the shorter passes have also occured is better speed on the front four. The classic "pocket passer" has a tougher time because he does not have as much time to stay in the pocket.

Wait, did Sean Taylor get selected in the Top 5 overall in the NFL Draft, and top defensive player overall? I have no idea because they started yelling about the Manning/Rivers trade that everyone knew was coming.
-
Shows how bad the Bengals have been until last year, when all the shirts were just anti-Mike Brown. You're right though OSU-Michigan has many "creative" t-shirts.
-
I agree, I could see him not playing at all this year. It reminds me of the Bengals situation last year. Just depends how far out of playoff contention the Steelers are before Ben gets in. Even in the NFL where competiton is the closest, the Steelers are playing a third place schedule, where last year they were playing a first place one.
-
Don't they just give them a jersey with a No. 1 on it? Unless they've signed a deal earlier like Carson Palmer last year. The problem with the Raiders trading with the Browns is that they basically show their hand that they would take Roy Williams at # 7, and the Lions would be fielding a lot of calls for the 6 pick, possibly Jacksonville at #9.

I remember how pissed Rico was when he was walking out with Billy & Chuck after the match, then saw his tag belt and grabbed it and hid it behind his back. The fact that I remembered something from Judgment Day 2002 is sickening.
-
In fairness though, I think a pretty good WR will be available with the Chargers 2nd round pick. I understand the thinking, but at the same time, I say just go to the team that drafts you.
-
If the Chargers pick is open, I will pick it. With the 98th overall selection, the Chargers select: Chris Snee, OG Boston College
-
With the 97th selection overall, the NY Giants select: Jorge Cordorva, ILB Nevada

As long as they keep that #2 title win off of that Undertaker DVD (UT v. Sid, WM 13), I will buy the DVD.

Gert's West Teams Round 2 Detroit San Jose Vancouver Dallas Gert's East Teams Round 2 Tampa Bay Boston New Jersey Ottawa Well I guess I can't do too much worse than I did last round..... East: Tampa Bay v. Montreal - Tampa Bay in 6 Philadelphia v. Toronto - Philadelphia in 7 West: Detroit v. Calgary - Detroit in 6. San Jose v. Colorado - Colorado in 7.

On Dan Patrick's radio show, he had Marty Schottenheimer on, who said he was unaware of Archie Manning saying anything during their meeting last week. I am seriously starting to think the Chargers leaked this so they can now trade out of the #1 spot. Remember the Redskins were supposed to be "interested" in a swap for picks and LT Chris Samuels in order to take Robert Gallery. I think the Chargers do not have interest in Eli. Why would they leak this story themselves?
