    Shoot Comments

In Spring Stampede 98, after a match when the heads are talking before they go back to the ring, this is an exchange between Heenan and Schiavone. Words may vary. Heenan: This is going to be a great match, roll it. Schiavone: Brain we're live. Heenan: All right fine, live it. As they go towards the ring, Schiavone: What are you the producer now? Heenan: Better than the guy we got now, wait do we even have one?

    Clarett ruled ineligible

Clarett and Mike Williams legal teams really erred in the fact that they should have pushed the U.S. Court of Appeals to make a decision earlier than April 19th. That date was set in late February. When that date was announced, you knew it being less than a week before the draft the NFL would be in great shape if they won, since practically nothing will get this reversed now before Saturday.

    Why ESPN sucks

Read Stuart Scott's "two way conversation" in ESPN Magazine. That is the best example of Stu's pandering to athletes instead of fans. I don't think I have ever seen him be critical about anybody in those articles, besides the fans for "not understanding", or "it's his choice". Have a damn opinion and state it. Cutting Playmakers, which was a good business move, really did make them look weak, but then again I do not love their attempts at Reality TV. Cold Pizza is unoffsenive enough when I see it, and when stupid shit is on it, I just change the channel. Replaying back-to-back though is dumb. How many "feud themes" are there? Kornhiser v. Wilbon, entertaining, Salisbury v. Clyaton, all right I guess, Skip Bayless v. Stephen A. Smith? Who gives a rat ass about either one of them. I believe the constant pimping of Barry now is to get more access to him if he mellows with the media at all. From what I saw how can the judges on Dream Job talk about the candidates were saying not to get too wrapped up in their catchphrases and "its not Seinfeld", are they watching SC anymore?

    Clarett ruled ineligible

Excellent question, I would say at least 10-15 would try to get Mike Williams in the supplemental draft. The draft money is the same so it won't really hurt Mike Williams and the cap money in the rookie pool will not hurt the teams. I say almost half the teams may show interest, especially if teams think they are going to the playoffs, thus having a 20 pick or lower next year.

    Dillion Traded to Patriots

In fairness though, the second half of the season Dillon only played a lot in the Chargers game in which he played well. However, don't let the door hit you on the way out Corey!

    TSM Mock Draft Rounds 3&4

I can pick up one other team if need be, but if others want in, give the teams to them.

    Dillion Traded to Patriots

This was a great trade for both teams, as I was really surprised if the Bengals were going to get a third round pick, let alone a second. I have to wonder if there is a player that the Bengals will trade up for. However I believe the Bengals stay relatively put with all of their picks and try to stackpile talent, as their depth chart last year were weak.

Thanks for making my pick Pinjockey, damn I thought we'd be a little further along than this. I am for going 4 rounds, but I also agree that if we don't get there by Saturday to stop.

    ANOTHER Barry Bonds thread

Because the white Ruth was really affected by segregation. In all seriousness... like someone else said, I couldn't care less at this point about Barry Bonds, I'm much more interested in my team (the Sox, bitch). When he comes around here, I'll be more excited, but because I want to see Pedro/Schilling/Lowe/Wakefield strike his ass out. Bonds is a great player, sure, and he hits a ton of homers, but until he's within striking distance of Aaron (I'm talking five homers or so), I don't care one way or another about it. He could die tomorrow, you know, and forever be nearly a hundred runs behind Aaron. Wait until he's really close, then we'll talk seriously. The point I was making is he didn't play against all the best players of his day. When you consider that 18 of the 2003 American League all stars were not white, you have to believe that a decent percentage of minority players from his day would have been legitamate major league stars if they had an oppurtunity. I am not saying that Ruth would not have put up the same numbers, but if you were to segregate the entire major leagues today I think you would see numbers change quite a bit for some players. The problem is you get to the debate of Bonds playing in a watered down league with expansion explosions. Which, by the way I think is bullshit.

The Official TSM Mock NFL Draft

With the 58th overall selection, the Tennessee Titans select: Nat Dorsey, OT Georgia Tech Dorsey, entered the draft early, and probably should have stayed in school, as many people cite technique and footwork as weaknesses. He shows the "potential" to be one of the best players left at this point and with add Tennesee being depleted at tackle, this is a good fit.

    If you were the commish

So with baseball starting in Japan, celebration rule changes in football and a drastic change in scoring in Nascar, people have been chiming in left and right about what should be done. So that essentially is my question. If you were the Commissioner or President of any sport, what changes would you make? This can range from age of participants, to rules of the game changes, celebrations, etc.

I agree, I was hoping he was going to drop to the start of the third round for my Giants pick.

Thank you for New Jersey and Dallas winning tonight, and making my picks of them locks!

    Post your teams All-time lineup

Utah Jazz John Stockton Adrian Dantley Pete Maravich Karl Malone Mark Eaton Jerry Sloan barking the orders, and Jeff Hornacek & Jeff Malone off the bench, that's it a seven man rotation. Trust me.

The OaO 2003-2004 NBA Season Thread!

Amen! My roommate tonight saw that score, and said "Damn 129 points and Sura's 3rd triple-double" Well, with about 8 FA's they better be scoring a lot. I am surprised they are passing that much. And as much as I hate seeing the Jazz out, congrats to Denver for getting into the playoffs by winning games. Hell, they would have clinched a playoff birth in the East last month. I also think people still hate on Andre Miller due to the brief stain of Clipperdom.

    Unintentional Irony

Wilbon had a good point of only caring about 700, passing Ruth at 715, and then the record. The problem is, when you hit 55 HR's per year, once you hit 535, you can go from something like 16th up to 3rd in about two years.

The Official TSM Mock NFL Draft

That's funny BPS, I had my top two choices were Troupe and then Vernon Carey if he was gone. I think if Carey fell to the Bills that would be a great pickup for them.

The Official TSM Mock NFL Draft

With the 43rd selection in the NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select: Ben Troupe, TE Florida This is a no-brainer for the Titans. I was ready to take Troupe with the 27th pick until Vince Wilfork fell into that pick. Troupe does not have all of the athletic gifts Kellen Winslow Jr. has, but I believe with his speed and great hands, Troupe can blossom into a pro bowl caliber TE. This pick helps the Titans as they got the best available player as well as drafting for need with the retirement of Frank Wycheck.

    International soccer (football) question

I believe they lost their chance to play in the '04 Olympics.
  20. I was wondering with the World Cup about two years away, when does qualifying for the World Cup start? As a jingoistic soccer fan (actually I would watch more if I could get it.), I have a few questions: 1. Qualifying comes from different regions? The Americas Europe Africa Asia/Australia/Oceania countries 2. Does FIFA take the same amount of teams each year from each region? 3. Since the host country is now the only one to automatically qualify would they add an extra European berth this year since Germany is the host? 4. Does qualifying usually take place during the off-season for the major leagues? 5. Didn't Ireland play Iran in 2001-2002 for a wild card berth into the World Cup? How do they determine who plays in those match-ups. Thanks for the help.

Worst Baseball Team Of All Time?

Last year's Tigers team probably would have broke the recod for losses if the Twins hadn't already clinched the AL Central.
