I think Denzel Washington's Alonzo (?) character was a great villian, about 3 or 4 times in the movie when he has talking to Jake he made it seem like he was looking out for the good of the people and not just himself. He was cool, and a total scumbag.

Hopefully the day before (or hell day of) if he's sauced enough people will talk him into trying it one more time. That would be a WM moment.

I think I would rather have the NBA abolish the lottery and just give it to the worst team. I know the teams that are the worst would only get 4-6th at the worst and many teams have passed over good players no matter what their pick. But I just think it would give these teams a better chance. Who would have ended up with Yao in 2002?

Virginia 84 Wake Forest 82 This is why I hate the ACC, Virginia welcome back to the bubble. You have now become Dick Vitale's 8th ACC team getting a bid, and one of 42 at-large teams that should be in. Is there any precedent of a team getting an at-large bid with a worse losing conference record than another (possibly what could happen between Maryland-Virginia) In a perfect world Clemson wins the ACC tourney next week.

Thanks for the 1 dollar hot dogs Marge and even though I am not a Reds fan, living in the area you will probably be known as the last Reds owner giving a damn about fielding a competitive team. I wouldn't consider her one of the two worst owners every. While her beliefs about minorities is not acceptable, she cared about the fans, which makes her better than a lot of other owners. Somewhere Marge is walking Schottze and he's taking a shit on third base.

Missouri's quality wins will get them in over Michigan. I think Michigan has to win out and beat one of the top three Big Ten teams in the tourney (MSU-Ilinois-Wisconsin) to get an at large. Big game tonight with Illinois at Purdue.
-
I would love to see Richmond make it, but I think that the A-10 West beats up on each other so much that they have to have a hell of a run (play St. Joe's in A-10 Tourney to boost RPI) to make it.

With 2 weeks to go until Selection Sunday, the races for at larges in the ACC, Big 12, SEC & C-USA are still as logjammed as they were last week even if not more. The ESPN crew of Vitale, Bilas, Frashilla etc. are really pimping Maryland that their psosible 6-10 ACC record will be OK because of that they are one the 34 best teams available. My problem is even though they may go 6-10 in the nation's toughest conference, look at their conference wins. Clemson 2x at Virginia North Carolina Florida State So they've beat the last place team twice 8th place team once with another to play and the 6th and tied for 4th place team. I respect the wins against Florida & Wisconsin, but 6-10 in a tough ACC does not mean too much if 4 of them come against Clemson and Virginia.

I was thinking with so many matches being added to WM as well as filler (Playboy Gown Match), should there be two tag titles matches? Along with not really much behind the tag title scenarios gaining steam should they just take 2 teams from SD! and 2 from Raw and have a 4 team elimination match, just for bragging rights, not necessarily for any titles, since they seem to be hell bent on getting as many people on as possible.

Well my real name also means "Powerful with a spear" and when I typed in Gert it was derived from the same name, so same definition. Those drunks knew what they were doing when they slurred my name.

Maybe Rock's happy with his nest egg, but you're right it will limit his marketability some.

Not to mention that a later February SB and later start date for the season means a bigger "dead zone" time in the summer. And I am a big baseball fan too.

Utah Jazz: 30 wins, 30 losses. Awesome. If only the Jazz were still in New Orleans right now.

It's the typical sports paradox, as they do get a lot of credit when they win, but much of the blame. Coaches aren't supposed to cater to players, but often it is a fine line, particularly in basketball since their are only 5 out on the court and 12 on the team. I think they do deserve the credit, for two reasons, the good ones find ways to keep the teams together and usually playing for one common goal, not 5 or 6. And second, the players don't get fired first. Don't get me wrong though, some coaches are not as great as THEY think they are.

I think he and Huggs didn't see eye-to-eye, and rumors around here were saying his attitude was hurting on the court and in the locker room, but I'm not UC's Lawrence Frank.

Will the 4-6th place teams from the ACC, Big 12, C-USA & Big Ten please try to differentiate themselves from the rest of the field. I gotta feeling that Conference USA sends six now after that big win by DePaul at Louisville. And I believe before conference tournaments Louisville, Texas Tech & North Carolina "locks" last week will lose out now. Also Xavier is quietly making a run back into the NCAA tournament so hopefully the A-10 gets three in.

Mike Williams will be fine, he has too much athletic talent to no tbe respected by teammates. And as long as a player is wearing a uniform that isn't the Ravens', Ray don't care how old you are, his mentality will be the same. I do kind of wished he would have gone back too, and break some of Keyshawn's records.
-
I gotta think Duke would win too. I also would like to see Duke and St. Joe's play because the guard play would be awesome. I don't think teams can stop both Nelson and West in the same game. But Williams would probably go for like 25-20 against St. Joe's.

Damn, we're all going to have bloodshot eyes from watching 6 hours of TV after Heat and Wrestlemania are over. I'll be pie eyed after that many drinks. Amen brother. I pretty much couldn't tell you what happened between the Guerreros-Team Angle-Benoit/Rhyno match up until the end of Austin/Rock. I have to remember that on days like this drinking is a marathon and not a sprint!

Yeah that trade would never happen, because the Cards are trying to hard to fit Pujols, Renteria & Morris into their future plans. They wouldn't get rid of two. And Pujols numbers are too good and he's too young to even think about letting him go.
-
Amen. And I doubt he'll jump the bandwagon, because he's close enough to leech off of any success the Angels have. I mean seriously Bill give GM's at least a three year window. It's not like they sign the checks, GM's take orders too.

Yeah some guy told me that tonight too, so I'll give it another shot.

Great response by Steinbrenner. I am one of the rare people who is indifferent to the Yankees. I have no "gotta love them or hate them" feelings. That being said its a shame the best record can't play the WC if they're in the same division so one can beat the other, and then lose to the Angels in the ALCS, so all the manuvering was for nothing.

I enjoyed that episode when it was muted. Some funny parts, just more unfunny ones.

Neuheisel, Barnett, the tradition continues at CU. I'm sure Barnett has been hassled by the media non-stop, but if that sound byte today wasn't the worst thing he could have said addressing those allegations, I'd be shocked.
