    OUCH! My heart!

1998 NBA Finals. It's sad because I think even I didn't believe the Jazz could win. I just kind of sat there hoping, and waiting for the inevitable.

    Bills hire Mike Mularkey

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking, but if he can inject some new life into the offense, more power to him.

Anybody else's year starting off shitty?

You know I didn't want to break the seriousness of this thread, but I knew a dude who had all of this shit happen to him in three days of 2004. Jan 1st- After bringing his g/f to a party where his other "friend" was also at, dumbass gets really drunk and lights the carpet on fire. He is promptly kicked out of the house. Jan 2nd- Coming home from a night out drinking, he and two other guys blow a tire so badly it bends the rim. Being Mr. Goodwrench, he gets underneath the car. The jack breaks and the car literally falls on his face. He has to get 20 stitches and probably plastic surgery on his eye. When at the emergency room, when bloodwork is done, his BAC is .027, three times Ohio's limit and not good considering he's 20. Jan 3rd- After what happens the previous two nights he decides to not drink too much. Probably has about six beers and then goes out to get another case for the people he was playing cards with. He gets pulled over, officers see the beer and test him. He cannot do the field sobrieity test because of his swollen eye, so he blows a .010. Hello DWI. Now I don't know how his 4-12th have gone but 2004 has been a hella year for that guy!

That interview with Roenick during the 3rd period was great. And man does he look like hell right now.

The OaO 2003-2004 NBA Season Thread!

The basketball gods are really testing Jerry Sloan. I know Ostertag sure as hell isn't going to pick up those 16.5 ppg. Hell I hope he does so we can deal him in mid-February. Sloan is gonna earn his wings this year if he still gets this team to 35-40. Hehe... I see your another Ostertag fan. Many a joke about him has been made by my Jazz fan family. I respect what the man did for his sister, but that's about it. As well as he played in the 97 playoffs and to totally shut it down after he got the huge contract is ridiculous. Malone was nearing the end of his prime back then. Ostertag SHOULD have been averaging more than 9-10 ppg! Now all he is, is a huge cap dump at the end of the year.

Marino to become Dolphins head of football ops

Marino needs to get some talented no.2 & 3 WR's and a better O Line. Quit spending all your damn money on the defense.

Two Women Make Claim on $162M Jackpot

Well, it looks like I'm single again. I can't believe such a beautiful woman would lie to me.

    Substitute Teaching...

I am substitute teaching right now. I've done it for about 11 weeks. In Ohio I think you have to have your bachelor's, but I'm sure its different everywhere. This week I had 8th grade gym. Which would be great since I think I want to get PE certification, and I have taken 85% of the classes. Well the principal tells me that their policy is that sub's can't teach so for a whole week, 6 periods per day I have STUDY HALL in the cafeteria. Obviously that won't go over great anyway with 8th graders, but it's also the first week back from Winter Break like they'd have a lot of work to do. It was a brutal week. My resolution of drinking less was really put to the test this week!

    The Chamber of Horrors

No doubt, that was awesome. It happened three times in the match, and the ridiculously long time Cactus hung on the cage was great too. It was cool how Vader and Hall pretty much got the hell outta the ring after the match. Because this match was so brutal these guys had to have been feuding for a long time right? In a WCW magazine advertisment for Halloween Havoc it had: Sting, The Steiner Brothers & El Gigante vs. One Man Gang, Barry Windham, The Diamond Studd & Oz!

NCAA Rejects $30 Million for LSU vs. USC

The NCAA has to make a game after the BCS quick after the BCS games because seniors and those going to the NFL need to start preparing. I can't see that NFL personnel people will be happy seeing players in games all the way up until February. And some college scheduling is done almost 7-10 years in advance. I think Ohio State scheduled to play a home and home against Texas in 2006 & 2007 and they announced it back in 1998.

NFL PLAYOFF prediction thread for kkk

Sorry everybody KKK has them now, haven't been on a computer in about 3 days.

Ok that's it...these fans are pissing me off.

Well, OU is in the Big 12, where good coaches get fired, where winning 9 games is not good enough. After 25 rejections, what are the odds the interim coach from the Alamo Bowl finally gets a phone call.

    Raiders Wanted To Smack Coach

While I am no pro-Callahan, how about having some pride, and playing like men. Teams have won before without liking their coach. And Raiders fans, were Brown's claims of changing the offense correct? If so that's terribly stupid.

One NFL Head Coaching Job Filled

In fairness to the "They didn't even wait until the off-season" in the title thread, since the average NFL coach today has a tenure of three years with his team, they better get moving with off-season evaluation. As for Coughlin, I'm skeptical at best. Good ol' Boys Network working again: I suppose, but in the same respect, Coughlin did well his first few years, before Jacksonville and Carolina's seasons mirrored each other. Spending too much money on FA's early in franchise history for the quick fix, and then being cap strapped for awhile. Once again though, Coughlin in NY, skeptical, at best.

Sorry for being a day late and a dollar short with my opinion, but AS, I totally disagree with your POV. While the Bengals 8-8 was disappointing right at the end of the season, I would take that any year over the 2-14 atrocity of 2002. And if you go out and bust ass for (basically 12 months in NCAA now days) and give it your all and lose in the title game, I do not believe it is a failure. Disappointment, yes, but not faliure.

Report: Rose admits he bet on baseball

I agree with him being in on the stats, and then pretty much everything Dr. Tom said in his first post. I say announce what year he will be in, put it on the hats, programs, but don't let Pete there or acknowledge it. It's weird living near Cincy, we always knew Rose was a scumbag off the field, but a hell of a player, I am just very impressed that he had the "courage" to speak out just before his new book came out. And I don't love Bud Selig, but hate the puppeteers and not the puppet.

The OAO NHL 2003-2004 Season Thread

That was a hell of a hit, I was pissed because the announcers were going nuts about it, then didn't show a replay for about 5 minutes. When they showed Lemaire on the bench, I thought he was saying to the players, "let's get to OT, get our point and try to retaliate in OT. But they'll probably save that for when they go back to Minnesota. Good clean (albeit brutal) hit, though.

    What are you watching?

Watching the Monday Night Shows from 8/9/99, Raw is Jericho followed by Nitro where Benoit wins the US Title. And Torrie Wilson looks UNREAL in that Benoit-Flair match (mmmm.... strawberries)

Were's the Miami (OH) love? They only have one loss too, and it will be to an eventual top 10 team.

Exactly, the chains were down after the second completion and at the most K-State lost 1 second on that one.

The Official College Football Bowl Thread

Doesn't Tranghese realize that going back to the human polls still would not have changed much this year. It just would have been a different team in the Sugar Bowl and an outsider winning their bowl game and more controversy.

The Official College Football Bowl Thread

I gotta throw a shout out to my next door neighbor John F'n Hollins! K-State only got "screwed" with the clock on the first play right? It looked like the second one looked legit. Oh well great game and a decent ending for the Buckeyes season. It will truly be a great ending and win for OSU based on how much Trev Alberts bitches about the clock management & officials.

    What does your team need?

I've seen enough of Drew to know that it's not just the shots. He was knocked loopy in a game near the end of the season...but the problem started long before that. I don't mean he's forcing it...I honestly mean he's floating the ball to places it doesn't belong. Yeah, and he knew it. You could see he knew he was making mistakes and I'll be dead honest, I hope Buffalo DOES cut Bledsoe Why? Cause I'll be DAMNED if I want him there next season after he has had an entire offseason to figure out his mechanics again and rest up. With Willis and Henry next season, improved receivers and Bledsoe figuring out his problems....dear sweet god, I want them sent to AFC SOUTH The same AFC South were 11 wins would have got you 3rd place this year. AFC South may be the toughest division in the AFC next year.
