Are you kidding? Homer's Enemy is by far the best episode the Simpsons has ever done. Almost every line from it is funny and quotable. The downfall of the Simpsons was when the show became random. The last half of every episode would be about something completely different from the first half. The randomness wasn't funny, it was stupid and annoying. What season did that start?

Maybe they'll have good subplots...like how the SP ep had the anti-steroids stuff. The funniest part of that ep were the athletes no-selling Jimmy's rant. The funniest part was Cartman coming in dead last in every event. Or the Put it to the Limit montage with Cartman reading books on how to appear handicapped, taking notes on the Special Ed bus, taking notes while looking at a Kid Rock video, and making a 3D model of him walking on the computer. It must suck to make a movie knowing that everyone who sees it will be going "Wow, this was 100 times funnier when South Park did it!"

TNA isn't any more competition right now than ECW was. The lowest buyrate for an ECW PPV was Barely Legal, it had 80,000 buys. Has any TNA PPV even managed half of that yet?

Actually when I go back and watch a Raw from 5 years ago, the first thing I notice is how good everything was. Almost everything was entertaining. Every single wrestler was involved in a storyline so it didn't become boring. Interviews don't seem as scripted and rehearsed. Matches were less predictable. Sure, it's mostly crap today and we all complain, but until you put in an old tape, you don't realize just how bad it is. There was hardly ever a time when someone deserved to get pushed and they didn't. Back then, as soon as they got over they were made into main eventers. Rock had the title within a few months, Foley in a few months, HHH in a few months, even Angle in a few months. Something happened at the end of 2000. With Benoit, Guerrero, Jericho, RVD, Christian, Booker, taking forever to get to the top level or not getting there at all. It makes for boring television when fans of those people see them every week for years and years not moving any further up the ladder. If Rock, Austin, and Foley were coming up today, could you picture them being handled as well as they were handled? Rock and Austin would either get to the top level and lose their edge. Vince would hear the cheers and turn them into a pandering babyface. They might main event one PPV against HHH as a test, get beaten soundly, and then be in the mid card again. Foley would have absolutely no chance. They'd most likely look at him and say he doesn't look like a champion, same as WCW did. It's not just that they they're still doing the same thing that they used to be doing. It's that they aren't doing what they used to be doing. WWE of the last 4 years has more in common with WCW than WWF. Even in 99 where most of the matches sucked, the shows were still fun to watch because a lot more effort was being put into making the characters and storylines compelling. I and several others mentioned that the court Raw 2 weeks ago felt like a 97-00 Raw because it had an on going storyline throughout the show. It gave you a reason to keep watching unlike most Raws today. And it was more enjoyable than most others Raws. That could explain the high rating. Of course just when when you think they have a clue on what they're doing and they may be getting it back together, they give us on a totally bland RAW like the one that was put on last Monday.

They could always allow TNA workers to work on it. They worked with ECW guys back in 97 when it didn't benefit them in any way. I don't know why they have a problem doing it with TNA when it will benefit them in getting a decent buyrate. Do they see TNA as a threat? It's possible that since ONS pulled in such a good buyrate that they'll realize that there's an audience for it and Vince will let them do more this time around, like bring TNA people in. Yeah, TNA wrestlers will be getting exposure, but they'll be making money too. Whereas last year they weren't sure about the second part. Although that's just wishful thinking I guess. At least get Jerry Lynn so we can have RVD/Lynn.

What do you have against ECW? Why would you want an Eddie show to replace it instead of just having another PPV like NYR or Taboo Tuesday?

Also it isn't competiting with a next generation system this time. I fully expected DW8 to release after PS3 had already been out a year, just like DW7 was released when the PS2 had had been out for a year, and DW4 was released on NES after the SNES had been out a year. Sometimes that works. I mean it would be stupid to try to determine anything from the Raw rating of the JR sketch because the sketch happened almost at the end of the show. What are people going to do, go back in time and tell themselves not watch Raw that night? But here's one example where that theory doesn't work. The McMahon vs Austin Raw where they finally beat WCW in ratings. Usually you'll find that if you give people a reason to keep watching, they will and the rating will be higher. This week's Raw was an entertaining show, that's why it got a high rating.

I hope HHH doesn't wander into DVDR. No one at the top in WWE would ever take the internet seriously again.
