  1. IB, your thread has failed.
  2. Also if you count the elimination chambers, royal rumbles, and survivor series matches, then Jericho main evented 5 of those PPVs too. So Shawn just main events twice as much as Jericho..... who isn't even a main eventer.
  3. Summerslam 02's main event was Brock vs the Rock.

Nintendo wants to know what NES games

Yeah, that's what I meant. Graphic upgrades are ok, but going from NES to SNES isn't much of a difference and like someone here said just takes away from some of the old game's charm. I'd love to see the original Zelda made 3D and put on Gamecube though, exactly the way it is.

Nintendo wants to know what NES games

Yep, how far did you get? The original was soooo much harder than Zero Mission. The power grip made the game pathetically easy. That sucked. I hope they don't try to "update" any more old games.

    Benoit Must Be Stopped

Well, I don't think Shawn was a great draw either, I just don't think he's as bad as everyone makes him out to be. Like you said, he didn't tank the company in 96 even though everyone was leaving and WCW was on fire. No one stopped watching right when Bret left, the ratings, buyrates, and house show numbers all stayed the same for a couple of months. DegenerationX bombed but IYH5 did even worse than that. Bret outdrew WCW in 94, but house shows in 96 with Shawn did much better than 94. I'm not sure about 95 vs 96. What were the numbers for dec 95? And Jan 96? I find it hard to believe that the turn around happened in november-december when they got the lowest buyrate in the company's history at the same time and ratings didn't go up at all.

1995 was the worst overall year in WWF history in terms of live attendance. You're right, Bret did headline two shows that are among the worst buyrates ever. When Bret won the title, live attendance picked up instantly. November 1995-May 1996 is one of the best house show periods the WWF has ever had. Bret was champion for the majority of that period. Ratings stabilized and yes, under Shawn, they didn't move backwards. But the same can be argued for Bret. Au, contraire. WWF house show business actually was better than WCW house show business in 1997. The only area where the WWF was lagging behind was TV ratings, but they were beating WCW in almost everything else. We have Bret Hart to thank for getting the ball rolling for the Attitude Era. Unlike Taker and Austin, he wasn't around to reap the benefits of it though. Where do you get house show attendance information from?

    Benoit Must Be Stopped

Diesel wasn't the one who got the two lowest buyrates ever. Right, in fact he boosted business so much that Diesel's IYH (vs the Bulldog) in october fell from a .4 to a .3 with Bret (vs Bulldog) in December and the ratings stayed the same until January, where they went up to the high 2s and low 3's. Oh, and for some reason, they were still mysteriously getting 3s in April and May without Bret around. The ratings went back and forth for both of them until the NWO. So if Shawn couldn't compete with Flair/Savage, then neither could Bret. Also Bret didn't seem to be able to compete with Hogan and the NWO too much in 1997.

Still, it's Shamrock. People love Eugene. But I wouldn't expect Eugene vs Benoit to sell a lot of PPVs. Yep, one of the worst shows ever. Amazing how people try to use it as proof that Shawn was a horrible draw.

Once again, Bret brought the company down to all time ratings and buyrate lows, and you could make a good argument that Shawn brought them back up. And then they kept going up, even when Bret left, until around the same time the NWO showed up on Nitro. Degeneration X against Shamrock.... Wow, I wonder why people didn't buy that! Didn't I already make a fool out of you the last time you said this by showing you quotes where I said the exact opposite? Anyway, what I actually said was something like if you blame the buyrates in 96 on him, then you have to also give him credit for the good buyrates. Now, both would be stupid to do of course, because a lot of other things affect the buyrate beyond just who has the belt. Is Eddy to blame for Smackdown sucking? If not, how can you say he isn't a draw?

Yeah, it'll probably win the GameFAQs poll...

What else do you need? The only way they could make it more obvious would be if they put in the ending after the 500 years later scene "THE PEOPLE DIDN'T SURVIVE!!" And the "having the opposite effect" line almost did just that. It didn't need to be in the game. All you really had to know is what Bugenhagen said might happen, and that Holy failed to destroy the meteor, and the results 500 years later. Then take the fact that the people were draining the planet for Mako energy making it weak and because of them the planet was suffering and dying. Then know Holy takes out threats to the planet to put two and two together. If after all of that you still didn't get it, it comes right out and tells you it had the opposite effect. Right.. the ending with no people doesn't back up what I'm saying about there being no people... at alllll... Holy was just coming out of the ground, it wasn't actually doing anything yet. How was it too late? You could see it made it there in time. Meteor either just pushed through or was let through. Back it up. Nowhere in the game does it say anything to lead you to believe that we aren't a problem. If that's what you got out of it, I think you missed the entire point of the game. I'm surprised you like it so much. Even if you assume for some reason that it WAS trying to destroy meteor, despite what the game says, where in the world would you pull we aren't a problem from? Cait Sith COULD have been the one to say it. It doesn't matter who said it. The only thing that matters is the game opened up the possibility that it could happen. If it hit the ship and didn't make them disappear, but did make them disappear after the lifestream took care of Holy, then he would still be correct, wouldn't he? Because humanity is a bigger danger to the planet. The meteor would just "wound" it, the humans were killing it. The meteor is only an issue in the second half of the game. The planet dying because of people taking all the Mako energy is an issue right from the first couple of lines. Holy isn't smart or stupid, it's just a thing that destroys threats, so it makes sense that it automatically goes for what it perceives to be the biggest one. Well the rocket scene IS irrelevant but not because it doesn't work. The characters weren't trying to get it to work, all they wanted to do was save was the Huge Materia. God knows why. What the hell was that all about? Maybe, but since the game doesn't say it did anything besides not working, you're only assuming it had a point. The game doesn't say it did anything. And that's a good thing? They needed to kill Seph for Holy to work, so if I'm right, they helped out at least. If the bunnies were integral to the story, and the ending scene didn't show any bunnies, along with having someone saying the bunnies might be killed, and constantly throughout the game you're being told that the earth was dying because of the stupid bunnies, of course you should assume Holy killed them. And I have to know, just what do you think happened to Midgar if Holy didn't destroy the people? Remember, the meteor doesn't hit. There's no impact crater. Just plants and trees. Life flourishing without civilization. Did they all just leave?
