  1. How many 'Mania appearances does Undertaker have left? If there is going to be a deserving person to end the streak then they need to show up ASAP.

Hulk Hogan is still making Mania appearances and he's 12 years older than Taker. Flair is 16 years older. So he's probably got some time left.

  2. BEST NEWS I've heard all week.

    From PWINSIDER:

"The lowest rated portion of Raw this week was the Vince McMahon vs. Triple H match, which the company believes to be their hottest feud. "

    REJOICE~!

    Awesome.

But the overrun was the highest-rated with a 4.0. Go figure.

The overrun is always going to be the highest rated because people are tuning in to the channel to see the next show. I've never been able to figure out why anyone cares about the overrun rating. You're cutting into another show's time, of course you're going to get some of their viewers. All the new viewers they get are probably saying "Goddamnit, when the fuck is this wrestling crap ever going to be over"

  3. I think Marty would be a good fit in ECW. They're in a dire need for faces and he would probably be insanely over at any ECW only arena. We know from the Rockers reunion Raw that fans still remember him and he would be over in Raw/Smackdown crowds as well. They could give him the Al Snow in 1997 push. Talented wrestler that never got his due, made to be a jobber for years. Well, in Marty's case, it's also because he's a huge fuck up, but finally, here's his chance to put it all behind him.

  4. Dragon Quest 8 (My favorite game of the last 5 years. I haven't played a RPG with this much charm since Chrono Trigger. Or this much humor since Earthbound. Beautiful orchestrated music score. Giant immesive 3-D world. It's an absolute must buy for any RPG fan)

Final Fantasy X (Another must buy)

    Some other great games:

    Shadow of the Colossus

    Resident Evil 4

    God of War

    Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

  5. Russo didnt really get any booking pull or heavy influence until Spring 97, after a RAW taping they did in Germany (I believe it was) that just bombed in the ratings. Think about the same time that RAW changed drastically cosmetically....that was when abouts Russo got this power. While ideas of his may have been used in some form before then, the real official move didnt happen til Spring 97.

Well then who was responsible for the huge change of direction in Raw in late 96, with everything becoming edgy? The Pillman/Austin gun angle. Bret Hart shoving Vince down and swearing on live TV unbleeped which caused Raw to have a 7 second delay. One of the most brilliant wrestling storylines ever done.... in the Austin/Bret feud, Bret's slow realistic heel turn on US fans, and the reformation of the Hart Foundation. Who came up with all of that?

  6. I ordered WWE 24/7.

I've been watching Barley Legal since then, and wow.

The 6man tag from MPW is fucking brilliant.

    It's well worth the $10 a month.

I suggest that everyone here who can get it, gets it.

Now is a great time to get WWE 24/7. They're up to showing Raws from September 96. If you remember, this is month that Russo started writing the shows and the product became good. Pretty much the beginning of the attitude era.

Russo didn't become head writer until the spring of 1997. He was only contributing ideas in late 96.

Are you sure? In Russo's shoots, he says that he started writing shows with Vince in late 96.

"The meeting where he asked to take on more responsibility- He felt the WWF product sucked and was hard to watch because of crap like TL Hopper and Who. He was watching the nWo angle around that time, so he started trying to bring them up to the times, as he felt that the company was stuck in 1986 while the rest of the world was in 1996. He went up to Linda and Vince McMahon and told them that he was thinking of going to WCW and that, if they thought he was only capable of writing the magazine, they should tell him that. They didn’t think that, so he stayed and the door was open for further opportunities. The next Monday, there was a memorably bad RAW where the matches were shot on one continent and the announcers were on another one. When the rating came in abysmally low, Vince McMahon had him brought to a big meeting and he was thinking “I’m in deep shit” until Vince threw a copy of the WWF magazine down on the table and said that the magazine was everything the show should be. It shocked him and probably wasn’t the best thing for him since Vince did it in that way, as it made people hate him. However, that did mean that he and McMahon were now writing the TV shows together."

  8. Back in 96-97 Shawn who is course buddies with Hunter and had pull basically burried the Rock to Vince. Saying the guy was nothing and would never be anything and they should just get rid of him.

Of course Foley said the same thing. A quote from his book: "The next day, one of the guys asked for my impression of Rocky. "Hey, he's a nice guy," I said, "but he just doesn't have it. The office should probably just cut their losses and get rid of the guy." I had no idea that I was talking about the future "People's and Corporate Champion." Everyone thought the Rock was nothing and would never be anything in 96-97.

  9. I am watching Raw now and Cena's crowd reaction isn't coming off well at all. The crowd was MUCH louder than this. (Yes, I know it will be louder there, but I've been to other events and this is the hottest crowd I've been to.)

Wait until you get to after the 6 man tag. You can hear a pin drop for the whole rest of the show. BTW, why do you guys hate Trish?
