These two dates. SamoaRowe is on the money, in my opinion. Personally, i'd have chosen the Bret Hart/Steve Austin match at WrestleMania 13 as the starting point for the Attitude Era, but now that SR says that above, I 100% agree.

TSM Talks (to the voices in their head): The Legacy
TheFranchise replied to Promoter's topic in The WWE Folder
They could have waited for Legacy to start and given the group the 'Voices' theme, and then let Randy keep it after the group disbanded. I know the theme doesn't work for them all, but it would at least give the group an identity. -
Your chairman has chosen the game as a fan-day Lose and you might lose potential fans! Good sig, though.

Wiki says Low Ki is 5 foot 8, and Rey is 5 foot 6.

Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where the Mob and the Japanese(?) fight it out on their lawn, and the little guy just stands there before starting to hand everybody their ass.

WWE General Discussion - January 2009
TheFranchise replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Yes, he's made at least one other appearance, i'm sure of that. Edit: Yes, he had a few little intro videos too. My name is Scotty Goldman, and I'm... in a box. I'm in a box. He's wrestled Kendrick one on one: (SmackDown debut?) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8riRONS2TCg Handicap match vs Kozlov: (No quality at all.) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NwRYTr7nYPY Eugene vs Colt Cobana (Sunday Night Heat) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Gc5N9jjukEc&...feature=related -

While we're talking about teams winning more than one trophy a season, runners up can receive European competition if the circumstances are correct. If the FA Cup winners are also in the Champions League qualifying positions, or UEFA Cup positions in the Premier League, then the team who lost the FA Cup final will also be given a spot in the UEFA Cup. Also, in the very, very rare occurrence that the winner of the Champions League actually finishes outside the top four in their domestic league, and doesn't qualify automatically for next seasons Champions League, despite winning the tournament, they won't be entered the next season. At least, this is the rule in theory. Liverpool actually won the Champions League a couple of years ago but managed to finish 5th in the Premier League, and were allowed special dispensation to qualify for the next Champions League at the expense of, I think, a play off with a Welsh team, which Liverpool did go on to win. The point I'm trying to make is, although the rules are there in English football, the teams, notably in the English Premier League, can hold a lot of sway with football organisations.

I'm pleased that I managed to get a couple of points here, I definately think TNA ppv's are going to be what lets me down the most, so if I can keep up and do well with WWE events, I might just do alright.

Thankyou Beast. Only one person has Candice anyway, and i've added the score.

He'd have a marquee match with Triple H, job to Cena and then job to Undertaker at WrestleMania.

To the Dreamer comment above about being able to be built back up.. Ric Flair was built easily up again with a retirement storyline, the same with Dreamer having ECW in his heart, on the C show no less, is certainly believable.

Benoit is mentioned regularly on Disk 2. I got the Guerrero set two days ago, Disk one is excellent, Disk two is nothing special (but does that the parking lot brawl and title win, as well as all the Los Guerreros vignettes and a neat little LG/Team Angle match. Disk Three I haven't started yet.

I was going to say this, but i'm not sure how many countries actually do have a winter break. I figured we'd be the idiots bucking the trend. As 909 alluded to, the Quarters (Man United's 7-1 win over Roma not included) and the Semi's generally seem to be poor games, but you do get the odd exciting ones. I remember a few years ago, Liverpool beat Chelsea 1-0 on aggregate over two legs. Now that one really depends on who you ask. Liverpool, a team who in the 80's ruled Europe and England, who won the Premier League something like 18 times in their history, but haven't won the League now since 1990, crave the Premier League again, it's the one trophy that they want more than anything, just so they can be the top team in the country again. It doesn't help that one of their biggest rivals, Manchester United, pretty much made the 90's their own. Teams like Chelsea, though, will go all out just for the Champions League. I think in most of the teams cases, the league is the main priority, but the Champions League is hardly something to sniff at. I'd rank the importance like this: English League Championship UEFA Champions League FA Cup English League Cup (This is another cup competition, mostly ignored by the big teams who send their reserves/youth players out, unless they're really interested in winning the damn thing. Or they get to the very late stages, like Man United, who my team Derby beat in the Semi first leg, United will field a full strength side in the return leg to overturn the aggregate score and reach the final.) English Charity/Community Shield (This is the curtain-raiser to every season, played between the previous years Premier League winners and the previous seasons FA Cup winners.)

1a. The Champions League isn't a huge (as in depth) competition really, it's mostly knockout (apart from the first group stage) so to make it last over the whole season (it needs to end after the rest of football in Europe's regular season has ended) it needs to be spread out. In England, the league finishes, then eight days later is the FA Cup final, and then six days later the Champions League final, at least in theory that's how it usually happens. 1b. In English football, there are playoffs in the three football leagues below the Premier League. The lack of play-off's isn't England's decision, the whole of europe adhere to the same set-up for their top leagues to determine who gets into the relevant European competitions.

Yeah, penalty, that's where i've seen it so often. Good call.

Chris, what's the sign mean when the assistant holds the flag across his chest? I see it quite often. This should be Sir Alex Ferguson in the background looking at his watch.

I'll tell you something i've always thought about Americans, they were never going to accept soccer for what it is, I think purely because of the state and skill of your own league/teams. All of the Americans I talk to on MSN and such tell me they can never get into soccer because their local team/whatever are really bad and boring to watch. My biggest piece of advice to someone who wanted to get into soccer would be to start watching the English Premier League and the Champions League before they even think about watching their own product. And if you're to follow Arsenal, you are not, under any circumstances, to like Ashley Cole, who moved to Chelsea for basically more money, and was quite open about it. I'd actually recommend watching the Championship, which is England's second tier, 24 teams all fighting it out to get out of the league and into the Prize Pool of the Premier League.

Hey, I came up with the thread and WJM started it for me ---- But yes, any questions then I'd be happy to throw my $0.02 in.

Bullard makes me laugh. Only a few months ago, Fulham weren't going to offer him a new contract, now Arsenal and, er, Bolton are interested. Yeah, i'm out of work now so i'll be around for lively boring discussion. Someone's bound to quote some Simpsons though, on the topic. Homer: I watched hours and hours of soccer, and I almost saw a goal!
