Assault on Precinct 13
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin replied to TheOriginalOrangeGoblin's topic in Television & Film
I was watching and my mouth just flew open. I was like "holy fuck". But it did set an "aynthing can happen" pace for the rest of the movie. -
Assault on Precinct 13

BTW watching that movie I figured where Tarantino got this part of dialogue in FDTD: Kate: Do I save the last 2 for us? Seth: No save the last two for the next two parasites who come at you. In AOP13: Secretary: Do I save the last two for us? Wilson: No you save them for the next two fags who try to get in here. -
Assault on Precinct 13

I agree with most of your points and although I don't like Escape from NY I could see why you'd consider it better. BTW was I the only shocked, in an age where kids NEVER brutally die in action movies unless it's an explosion of some sort, at how nonchalantaly and graphically the daughter was killed? -
Excellent movie and I think it was contorversial over its "despicable portayal of British people". That's what I read atleast.

WMX7 where Rock drops his blade. HBK's at SS02 sucked as it was a capsule.

My two FAVORITE(not necessarily best): Flair/Vader - Starcade 93 Flair/Savage - WM8

Actually he's had problems with both... Jake Roberts has had problems with everything you could possibly imagine.

Overall, is there anything we can ALL agree on?
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
I agree with four out of five. I despise Spanky's music. It doesn't an entrance theme at all. -
For me 1992 is the best followed by 90, 91 and 94.

Great interview. Through this and his column I'm starting to liek Edge a hellvua lot more.

Matches that are thought of WAY too highly...
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
Disagreed... this match rules all, because this is the way a Ladder match should be... wrestling, psychology, and building to each spot... instead of the spot spot spot spot spot spot spot style of the current ladder match (ESPECIALLY the TLC matches) Psychology? Could you explain what psychology that match had that HBK/Razor 2, Benoit/Jericho or, even, Rock/HHH didn't? That match had holy shit value first time you watched it but for a match to be over ****1/2, IMO, it has to stand the test of time. And that match has not. -

HBK/Razor - Wrestlemania 10. Ok it set a historical precedence but what else makes it one of the bets WWF matches ever(in Keith's opinion best of the 90's). NO WAY this gets anything above ****1/4 and even that's generous. -
If Diesel is the Lowest Drawing WWF Champion...

K I'm in the dark here, what's with all the Tommy Rich blowjob jokes? -
GAB89 is the bets example of his talent IMO as he carried a worthless lump like Luger to a great match.

The SmartMarks Favorite T.V. Show Tournament

I'm Happy. Seinfeld = GOAT: Greatest of All-Time -
Usually the subtitle wouldn't be so close-minded but I have noticed that this movie people either love or hate. Very little middle ground. I for one love Mars Attacks and consider it one of the most entertaining parodies ever done. Many don't agree with me. What do the people here think?

Thanks cawthon. I have that SNME on tpae and in the back they have the Harts and Rockers hanging out so I thought they wrestled.

"El Gigante, PN News, Robert Gibson with ? and ? vs Ric Flair, Nikita Koloff and ? and ? and ?" Would it be possible the teams were El Gigante, PN News, Robert Gibson, Bobby Eaton and Brian Pillman vs Ric Flair, Nikita Koloff, Arn Anderson, Barry Windham and Ricky Morton. Just a guess based on who was feuding at the time. I got a Q of my own for anybody(cawthon would seem like someone who could answer this): On the SNME in Feb.89 where Savage turned on Hogan was there a Hart Foundation/Rockers match on the card that didn't make it onto the final show?

Great week for Raw.

Best perfromance by a bad actor/actress ever?
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin replied to a topic in Television & Film
I second Keanu Reeves in the Gift. Stallone in Rocky. -
If you count Mind Games you might as well count Rumble 1990. A good Rumble makes a horrid undercard. Same thing. Badd Blood & Over the Edge are probably the best two examples. Although Summerslam 1997 fits too. Is getting to Austin/Owen & Bret/Taker worth sitting through some terrible crap on the undercard. Seems all of 1997 is like that.
