    Boxoffice Report June 27-29

I liked Wanted so I'm happy it made money. Anything that helps to get more R-rated action movies made is a good thing.

    The NHL all-time draft

Angle's away but sent me his list. He selects: Vladimir Krutov, LW - The left wing on, possibly, the greatest line of all-time.

    All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

He was still around?? Fuck! I wanted to take him last round but figured 'ah he's gone already' and didn't bother checking.

Raptors needed a big more than a wing.

    The NHL all-time draft

To Zetterberg: Send me your picks/write up, I'll post it if you want. I have no picks before you.

    The NHL all-time draft

Bill White, D - 6x All-Star - 3x 2nd All-Star - Only played 9 seasons but finished a +158 for his career (including 2 +51 seasons) - Played for Team Canada in the Summit Series One of the premier defencemen of the late 60's-early 70's and one half of one of the best defensive pairings of all-time. I totally forgot about these guys or I would have taken his partner instead of Gonchar. Too late now though. White was both a rock solid defender and an attacking defenceman and that meant he spent a lot of time both on power plays and killing penalties. A very versatile man to have on my blue line and very consistent (an all-star in 6 of his 9 NHL seasons).

    The NHL all-time draft

Well, while I'm awaiting word on my pick eligibility, here's my first pick: Sergei Makarov, RW - Oldest player to win the Calder trophy - A member of IIHF all-century team (the only one not selected yet) - Throughout his 20 years in pro hockey (counting Russia, NHL, Olympics, World Championships etc.) he averaged well over a point per game - One of the best ever and a steal this late in the draft. Him on a line with Yzerman and Zetterberg is gold and I am proud to have him on my team.

Can I just make 2 picks then? My second one, is one I guarantee you didn't have in mind. Plus I'm not sure I'll be on after about 4PM today for the rest of the night so this'll make it faster.

    Alternate movie draft

Terminator 2: Judgment Day (Cameron, 1991) - My favorite sequel starring one of my favorite actors and a movie I grew up on. Some of the most groundbreaking action ever filmed (T1000 looks phenomenal to this day) to go along with a great story and a message that gets more relevant every year.

    Desert Island Draft Thread

Random CD's I like: 'Konvicted Deluxe Edition' by Akon (2007) - I'm choosing the deluxe edition because it has 'Sorry Put the Blame On Me' on it, which is my favorite Akon song. I like Akon and if you don't, so what. I need some modern R&B/hip hop on an island. 'Bad' by Michael Jackson (1987) - I have 'Thriller' and I might as well take the sequel. More rock, more sappiness, more everything. Not better than 'Thriller' but a great album in its own right and features, basically, nothing but hits. Plus Dirty Diana is one of the bets songs he's ever done. And, finally, I'm not sure if this qualifies but: 'Hell Freezes Over' by The Eagles (1994) - I honestly don't know if this is all from their one reunion concert or not. I believe it is though so it should qualify.

So I am the only one that realizes that they will be one of the top teams in the East next year? No, I realize that as well. A team with a healthy Dwyane Wade, a 'playing for a contract' Shawn Marion and whatever rookie they get can easily compete in the East.

    All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

Daivari - I plan on having him wrestle cruiserweights and still come out as Hassan's manager and teammate. He can talk, he can draw heat and he can work. La Parka - A great cruiserweight who can play either face or heel. He has a very original gimmick and a fan friendly mask which will be good for kids in the audience and merchandise sales. Plus, he's a dose of comedy and fun (while still being a legitimate wrestler) to liven up, what may otherwise be, intense cards.

I'm Russian and I can tell you that, in Russia, Kharlamov is looked at with Gretzky/Lemieux reverance. Great choice.

    2008 NBA Draft

Good deal for the Suns assuming Maggette re-ups.

    2008 NBA Draft

Wilcox is a free agent next season. They're clearing cap space. And since they don't want Beasely, I see no downside.

    The NFL All-Time Draft.

And my depth chart: QB: Johnny Unitas RB: Franco Harris WR: Chad Johnson TE: John Mackey T: Ron Yary G: Gene Upshaw C: DE: DT: Joe Greene LB: Jack Ham CB: Mike Haynes S: Ken Houston K: None P: None Coach: None

    The NFL All-Time Draft.

Time to start working on my offense: Chad Johnson, WR - Over 1,000 yards receiving in 6 of his first 7 seasons in the NFL - Led the AFC in receiving for 4 straight years (came 3rd last season) - 5x Pro Bowl - 2x 1st team All-Pro - Top 20 among active players in receiving touchdowns, yards and in receptions in total (and is the youngest player on each list) With a ton of character guys to keep him in line, Ocho Cinco will be a huge asset to my offense. Equally adept as a possession receiver, as a big play guy and as a touchdown threat, Johnson's speed and toughness will help him be the center of my WR core. If he stays healthy (and actually plays), there is little doubt he will finish his career very high on every list possible for a wide receiver. John Mackey, TE - 5x Pro Bowl - 3x First Team all-pro - 1960's All Decade team - 2nd TE to ever be elected to the Hall of Fame He revolutionized the tight end position more than, maybe, any other player in history. Excellent both a blocker and a receiving threat, Mackey was the first big play tight end, twice averaging over 20 yrds/catch in a season. He was also a good punt returner and very durable, missing only one game in his 10 years in the league. With him catching and blocking, my offense just stepped up to another level.

That would be phenomenal! As a Raptor fan since the teams inception, I wholeheartedly endorse this trade. Do it Colangelo!

    Alternate movie draft

Say 'ello to my little friend... Scarface (De Palma, 1983) - Not my favorite movie of all-time but one of two major ones I'm worried about getting taken. It's Tony fucking Montana, what else needs to be said? Instead of a write up, here are some quotes: "All I have in this world are my balls and my word and I don't break neither of them for nobody." "First you get the money, then you get the power and then you get the pussy." "Miami is like one big pussy just waiting to get fucked."

    The NFL All-Time Draft.

You sure did, he was my next choice.

    The NHL all-time draft

One of the toughest guys to ever lace up a pair of skates: Ken Reardon, D - 3x All-Star - 2x First team all-star, 3x Second team all-star - 2x Stanley Cup Champion The definition of a tough defenseman, Reardon was known for playing through injuries. Though his career was relatively short (due to fighting in WW2 and injuries), he was a rock on the Habs defense in the 40's and was one of the premier defenders of the era.

    The NHL all-time draft

Ken Hodge, RW - 3x All-Star - 2x First team all-star - Played on one of the greatest offences ever - Holds many Boston records for RW (once held the NHL RW points record) A spectacular offensive player who will make my already potent offense even better. Not sure which line he'll be on yet but with great right wings running low, I had to strike while the iron is hot.
